Mahomes hasn't played long enough yet to rack those up, but he will eventually get there. Just not yet.
He doesn't belong in the top 10 if you adjust for eras. Brees profited mostly in a very super pass friendly league, played in a dome his whole career pretty much, had the great offensive mind of Sean Payton to make it a lot easier for him, and most of his completions are just little dump off passes to running backs so his completion % looks a lot better and more accurate than it truly is. Payton knew his limitations, and setup the perfect offense for him. Brees had it easy, and despite his one SB ring, he was a choker in the playoffs. He also missed the playoffs three straight years in his prime. Drew Brees is simply not a top 10 QB of all-time. Brett Favre and Marino are much better QBs. If Marino played from 2008 and on, his numbers would be more extraordinary.
At least within the past 40 years of watching NFL, I couldn't name 10 Superior QBs ahead of Drew Brees. Only QBs I'd feel comfortable choosing over Brees: Brady, Montana, Peyton, Rodgers, and Farve. I'd place Brees in the same conversation with Young, Warner, Mahomes, and Marino
@John Taylor I'll take Brees. To me, Brees's Regular Season production was far superior to Elway's. In the playoffs, I'd argue their overall production is rather proportional. Elway's career occurred during a time period when it was much easier to reach the SB through a WEAK AFC conference compared to the NFC during the 80s and 90s. Out of the 5 times Elway went to the SB, at least 3 of those Broncos teams were ranked #1 in the AFC. On average, Brees consistently played with much worse defenses as well. Brees also outplayed Peyton in SB 44 without a top 10 defense too.
@John Taylor They cheated the Cap rules in Denver in 97 and 98.Its called the Cap space gate. Those teans were more stacked than the league allowed within the cap space That was when he won his 2 rings
@@churchservice2700 Drew benefited from an offense-friendly league. Plus he owes all of his success to Sean Payton’s high-flying offense. Elway was legit the minute he stepped in the league and went to 5 Super Bowls, won two. If Elway played in Brees era, his numbers would be just as impressive, if not better. He was a bigger QB with a better arm. Brees was more accurate, but again, his best statistical seasons are all under Payton and his system.
I think what first things first did made a lot of sense. They split the QBs by pretty and post merger because those eras are so different. I don't neccesarily agree with their list, but I like the premise. We always end up comparing apples and oranges in sports and so we start discounting guys for the eras they played in and have skewed ideas of what good numbers look like based on era.
I'm 8 minutes deep. But I'll say it in case they don't. People dont give Drew top 10 because he didn't win a 2nd Super Bowl when the teams he had the last 4 years had the talent to. Just my opinion.
We can say what we want.... If Brees was 6'5 and playing for the Giants or Cowboys, he would be considered top 3 all time. Numbers never lie!! #1 Passing yards. #1 Passes completed. #2 TD passes. #2 Passing yards per game. #2 Pass %
Defense wins championships. Brees def average rank 23. All those other QBs have top 5 defense. That makes a big difference. Plus a year without Sean Payton. People don't use context with brees. He once threw 7 TD passes in a game and needed all 7. That tells you all you need to know
The horse blinders folks put on for Eli because of those SB victories will always have me chuckle. King of mediocrity benefits more from “QB victory stats” than anybody I can think of
In no order Montana, Brady, Terry Bradshaw, Fran tarkenton,Johnny U,,Roger Starbuck, troy akiman, bart star,John Elway, manning. Otto Graham is like James brown of football
QBs by far get rated by favoritism out of any position in sports....QBs seem to mostly get rated by team success. I think the media overrates QBs too much off of team success...QBs dont control the entire team or game...drew brees is top 10 off stats and getting a ring.
Is Eli a better QB than Steve Young, Troy Aikman, Johnny U, Dan Marino, John Elway, Dan Fouts, Randall Cunningham, Drew Brees, Fran Tarkenton, Aaron Rodgers, Roger Staubach, Terry Bradshaw, Bart Star, Jim Kelly, Warren Moon, Russell Wilson? I’m not even going to mention Brady or Montana. It’s nice that he beat the Pats in the SB but that was mostly because of the Giant D. They were dominant.
No legitimate all-time top-10 QB list is complete without AT LEAST these names: Brady Montana Unitas Manning Favre Elway Marino After THOSE, it's anyone's guess what names to throw in. Graham, Staubach, Bradshaw, Tarkenton, Baugh, Rodgers, Brees, Starr, Young, etc...
Dan Marino had 4 good years. What are we talking about.. Eli lead the league in Ints how many years, how many bad years did he have? Didn't Rodgers miss the playoffs in his prime? Terry Bradshaw never won mvp? Neither did Big Ben or Eli( neither being 1st or 2nd team all pro) like so in consistent
Since 1980: 1) Tom Brady 2) Peyton Manning 3) Joe Montana 4) John Elway 5) Aaron Rodgers 6) Dan Marino 7) Brett Favre 8) Steve Young 9) Drew Brees 10) Ben Roethlisberger I'll wait for Russ and Mahomes to create more of a legacy.
how dare chris broussard just skip over peyton manning who in my eyes is better than just about everyone he named. Brady is number one by default, when you have 7 championships your number 1 by default. But peyton manning is better than joe montana.
Just love how media continues to judge individual skills and talent by the overall record and performance of the whole team Hahahahahahahaha media sucks
You can’t go 60 years back man ... I’ma name some QBs from this era no specific order, let’s see: 1. Tom Brady 2.Peyton Manning 3.Joe Montana 4.John Elway 5. So far I’m stuck but then 5. Dan Marino 6. Brett Favre... had to post bc the video ended and I couldn’t take the play back ... I have to put Drew at 7 bc the list gets short from there on
Stop attributing W-L records to QBs. And Eli > Drew is LUDICROUS!!!! He didn't beat TB12, he BARELY beat the Pats D which in 2011 was bottom of the league. NYG's D kept one of the greatest offenses ever sub 20 pts. They won both SBs, not Eli. Spagnola doesn't get enough credit.

Did rob parker just say “you can’t discount Eli being top 10 in yards and touchdowns” as a reason for being better than drew who is literally top 1 and 2 in those statistics?🤯
Love how Rob drools over Eli beating Brady twice, but wont say how Eli got lucky on 2 throws, the helmet catch to Tyree and the catch by Manningham....yet calls Brady LOAT Get out lol
None of the top 10 QBs suffered a 90% chance career ending injury and still top the record books with the same shoulder and throwing arm. None of them played for a sorry ass team like the Saints. None of them was Drew's height.
@Darryl Davis He was great.Take off his Superbowls and he is not a Hall of Famer.A Hall of Famer should be a Hall of Famer even if you strip his Superbowls and MVPS
Brees played 4 years for San Diego. Was terrible first 2 years. Year 3 wins the afc west division and barely loses the wild card game. Year 4 was good and just barely missed the playoffs. Got injured last game of the season. He sucked for 2 years and has been good ever since. 2000s football was different and his coach was Marty and he loved to run the ball. Sean Payton more electric
It's absolutely ridiculous to not put Brees in the top 10. I love these guys, but this is a bad take. All these QBs they're mentioning have all had GREAT defenses. Only up until the past three, maybe four seasons have the Saints had a decent defense. In 2012 the Saints defense gave up the most yards from scrimmage.. ALL TIME up to that point. The fact they went 7-9 that year is a testament to Brees' ability. Without him they would've went 2-14. He may not be top 5, but I'd like to see anyone put 10 QBs ahead of him all time.
Bruh noone except Rob Parker and NY giants fans truly believe Eli manning is a HOF. He literally was a average-below average qb his whole career outside of like 4 yrs. Dude led the league in turnovers for 6yrs. Props to him for those 2 SBs. What else has he done? MVPs? Nope. All-pros?? Nope. Guy was never ever a top 3 qb at any point during his whole career.

throw in John Elway and a few quarterbacks from the old times and that bumps Brees out of top 10
@@onz6969 Brees > Elway

@@bbginc694 don’t matter they rank far below most title teams in nba history. Don’t get in your feelings bro it’s facts.
That team was tough.
Drew Brees definitely isn't a top 10 Qb. How the hell can you be top 10 and he hasn't won a single MVP or been to multiple Superbowls?
Montana, Farve, P.Manning, Brady, Rodgers, Marino, Elway, Aikmen, Moon, ....Young/Breeze ???
I can rock with that
Moon is not there
Bradshaw should be alongside Staubach
#2 Pass %
Great show the only problem I have is y'all talk over the callers over the phone as soon as y'all disagree let the people finish talking.
Eli led the league in interceptions THREE times. You can't be serious
Defense wins championships. Brees def average rank 23. All those other QBs have top 5 defense. That makes a big difference. Plus a year without Sean Payton. People don't use context with brees. He once threw 7 TD passes in a game and needed all 7. That tells you all you need to know
Rob having Eli above Brees is insane. Cherry picking 2 amazing years instead of looking at the entire career and talent level
Brees played in a dome
QBs by far get rated by favoritism out of any position in sports....QBs seem to mostly get rated by team success. I think the media overrates QBs too much off of team success...QBs dont control the entire team or game...drew brees is top 10 off stats and getting a ring.
🙌🏾Rob Parker's advocacy for Eli Manning is 💪🏽💪🏾💪🏽
Is Eli a better QB than Steve Young, Troy Aikman, Johnny U, Dan Marino, John Elway, Dan Fouts, Randall Cunningham, Drew Brees, Fran Tarkenton, Aaron Rodgers, Roger Staubach, Terry Bradshaw, Bart Star, Jim Kelly, Warren Moon, Russell Wilson? I’m not even going to mention Brady or Montana. It’s nice that he beat the Pats in the SB but that was mostly because of the Giant D. They were dominant.
I take romo over eli

It's absolutely ridiculous to not put Brees in the top 10. I love these guys, but this is a bad take. All these QBs they're mentioning have all had GREAT defenses. Only up until the past three, maybe four seasons have the Saints had a decent defense. In 2012 the Saints defense gave up the most yards from scrimmage.. ALL TIME up to that point. The fact they went 7-9 that year is a testament to Brees' ability. Without him they would've went 2-14. He may not be top 5, but I'd like to see anyone put 10 QBs ahead of him all time.
