I've been following your tutorials and your instructions are really really clear :) I have a problem with this shape, at 6:46 when using boolean union to create a whole solid. the smallest piece at the centre will not boolean union with the rest of the shell. Why is this so and how do I resolve it? Thank you!
Yes! I had the same problem! I figured out that the shape which doesn't want to boolean is in the smallest piece in the centre. It happens due to the curve that is too curly and organic. Remember we deleted the end of the curve with PJ? You should delete the begging of your curly rail too. I have split the small part with a point and my eventual shape was done without any complicated intersections. After that, I was able to boolean the whole piece.

It is hard to tell without seeing your model but I have a Q/A playlist explains different type of boolean issues. You can check out them first.
