It is often what they DO NOT say that hints at it. They are guarded and quiet and admit to only being a US Navy man like they are average.

I’m not sure how many people picked up on this but the rescue happened because this kind of thing happens a lot over there.
As soon as she was taken, her personal phone, the same one that the hostage takers tried to call her family on to release her to for money… automatically went into Emergency mode that caused all numbers dialed out to be redirected to a government hostage negotiator.
They were talking to the military, the whole time. It’s also how they ended up locating her, GPS when they turned it on.
Controlling the phone in that way also saved her family from having to negotiate her release for 3 months by themselves.
Seal Team Six went in and scooped her up, quicker than a wire transfer.
They can tell by watching this interview that she’s appreciative of their efforts.
    That’s enough for them.

As great as this is, as an American, I just want to point out that if it weren't for the inspiration of the British SAS we may not have these sorts of forces available to our people such as Jessica Buchanan while in dire need. In particular, their actions during the Iranian Embassy siege became an inspiration for us to improve our already existing special forces capabilities.
Over the last few decades, numerous nations have built up quite capable special forces units that sometimes only differ in the resources available to them for their training. Many of the top tier Special Forces from western nations such as British SAS & SBS, Seal Teams, Delta Force, and others regularly train and operate with one another each year. There exists a worldwide community of operators that is much larger than many realize and RUclips has a deep rabbit hole of content surrounding them. Even modern British special forces may surprise you in what they do.

The SAS was the inspiration for our special forces, but it had nothing to do with the Iranian Embassy. It started in WWII, at which time SEALs were simply known as "frogmen". By time of the Iranian Embassy the SEALs had been around almost 40 years and the Green Berets almost 30.

    • @randomman057
      @randomman057 2 года назад

@@kilroy2517 Iranian Embassy siege did in fact play an important role in shaping modern special forces units. Anti-terrorism/hostage rescue and CQB was not a focus of training in US special forces until after the British SAS proved that a kinetic solution to hostage situations could be carried out with minimal casualties. Delta Force wasn't even formed until after Colonel Beckwith saw what the British SAS were doing during training in the 1970s. And then it took several years for Delta Force to build a competent modern special forces unit.
And the Navy Seals certainly did not focus on CQB/hostage rescue until the War on Terror. Hence why Delta Force was tasked with the most important capture/kill missions in the early years of that conflict.

I have a friend who is actively in the Navy and works closely with the seals. They’re not allowed to talk about anything they do. Their family is not even allowed to know. These men are not allowed to be photographed, not allowed to have any tattoos that could be used to identify them. Nothing can be known about them until they’re done with their job.

I'm so glad that you have this channel, having a view from two people who talk is much better than one opinion. Also think of the UK SAS/SBS that is the seal teams then think of seal team 6 as the elite of the seal teams. When seal team 6 is sent in it is sending in the Elite of the Elite. Kind of like the special projects tab in the SAS but more hard core.

The cover of night and element of surprise is the special ops forces best friend, SEAL Team 6 used high tech night vision goggles (Ground Panoramic Night Vision goggles) it gave them a wide 97 degree horizontal field of view that allowed for observation and target identification in absolute darkness. I believe the goggles cost around $40,000

I have known two navy seals in my life, neither will talk about what they have done beyond generalities of "oh yeah, I heard about that" with a nod. They don't want to be known, and they are very closed mouthed about it. But I will say I learned a hell of a lot from them.

Seal team 6 was the same team that took out bin laden for good. Though probably not the same members as the team rotates but it’s the same team. Navy seals are one of our best military infiltration experts. They are called in to get in and get out and get the mission done quickly and with a time crunch. They are trained for everything from land, sea, and air with all sorts of weather conditions. Basically seals get called in the situation is serious. Army rangers who are the elite of the army are more ground based and are used to pummel enemy positions and fight in close range but also lead troops onto the battlefield as their motto is Rangers lead the way. We also have ghost squads of the absolute best of the military that only answer to the top brass of the military (generals, admirals, and the Air Force higher ups). Their job is to do the mission but leave nothing of their existence and get out without a trace. Hence the ghost moniker. You really don’t know who they are ever as it’s completely classified.

    • @adammaynard5683

Rangers are Army special forces, but not the most elite the Army has. Green berets are another special forces group within the Army, and CAG (AKA Delta Force) are the best of the best, they even recruit SEALs, Air Force PJ’s and Marine Force Recon. Even though they recruit from other special forces, those people still have to qualify, and not everyone does. Making CAG the only group that even Navy SEALs have failed out of.

@@adammaynard5683 Rangers are NOT Army Special Forces, they are a Army Special OPERATIONS Force. Officially, the only designated Special Forces are Army Green Berets. Not to pick a fight, just saying.
