I remember when I first started listening to Rammstein people accuse me of listening to Nazi music and tried to associate them with Columbine. Needless to say those people had no idea who Rammstein was. I love seeing people give them a chance and realize how awesome they are. They can be somewhat shocking but in a good way at least in my opinion
I've seen interviews with the band mates, and they said that some people have wanted them to sign Nazi flags and other paraphernalia (mostly Americans sadly, depictions of swastikas are illegal in most of Europe) and they flat out refuse and usually have said people escorted out.

You should totally watch their video for this song. I think you'll really appreciate their artistic choices for it. And it shows another side of their creativity as artists. They always do something unique which is what separates them from other bands. Everything they do is purposeful in their art. I always appreciate how inclusive they are to people that maybe feel different or experience the world in other ways than most popular culture. It's like they explore a more shadow side of our collective consciousness. Some of the darker aspects that is humanity. But at the same time acknowledging that that's part of what makes us human. About appealing to a higher function above that darkness of our species's past behaviors. It's about acknowledging it's there but it doesn't necessarily make us bad people. Perhaps many of us have shared in the pains that life can give us be it abuse, trauma, or loss. Pain is there, it's part of life. But we endure, we push on, we persevere. I've always felt Rammstein was a collective place for those of us that felt different or understood the harshness of living. Sometimes life breaks us, and sometimes those places where we broke heal up and make us stronger. Suffering can lead to wisdom. And I believe it was Flake from the band that said in am interview that they want people that feel different or alone to know that they're not alone. "We embrace you." But this is just my quaint point of view. I've always appreciated Rammstein for that.
Agreed! The ‘standard’ version is excellent too but I love the piano version and that extraordinary video, which offers one of Till’s best visual performances (to go with the already stunning vocals).

I'm always surprised to see other young people discover and enjoy Rammstein. My uncle introduced me to Rammstein around 2010 and I loved the powerful sounding voices along with the music. My grandma was born in Germany in 1928 and escaped the advancing Russians in 1945 to the USA. My mom can speak and understand germen as well.
This song just always reminds me of my late high school band mate, and drummer. We jammed this song so many times. *Rammstein 2019 Stadium Tour: Part I: The Tour:* For their “2019 Stadium Tour” Rammstein constructed one of the largest stages ever used for a musical show, indoors or outdoors (stages that large can only be accommodated outdoors anyway). It is just larger than Taylor Swift’s “Reputation” Stadium Tour (I'm actually a bit of a "Swiftie" myself): the width of a football field and six stories high, and a bit larger than either U2’s stage used for their 2009-2011 world tour, the Rolling Stones “No Filter” 2019 tour, or the 2015 AC/DC tour. (Taylor’s shows are run by "Silent House Productions" out of Burbank, California. Rammstein’s shows are run by "Solotech" out of Montreal, "Stageco" out of Belgium, and "WIcreations" out of Germany. Stageco and WIcreations also worked the recent Rolling Stones "No Filter" tour, as well as the U2- 2009 “360 Claw” tour). The Rammstein 2019 tour was the second highest grossing tour in the world of non-English language acts, behind only Korean “K-pop” band “BTS”. In Europe they were just behind Metallica and Ed Sheeran in total receipts: Sheeran; $147.63 million; Metallica $135.56 million; Rammstein; $131.26 million. Despite only playing 31 shows in Europe, for the 2019 world-wide all-languages category of “Rock Groups”, they were #3 behind only the Rolling Stones and Metallica, and in front of: Fleetwood Mac, KISS, Bon Jovi, U2, and the Eagles (in that order), and of all musical genres in all languages world wide, 4th in the world after only the above three “Rock” groups plus BTS, and world wide were ahead of: -- all country performers (#1 Garth Brooks $78.29 million; #2 Eric Church $70.67 million; #3 Florida Georgia Line $52.43 million, and #4 Carrie Underwood $51.86 million); -- all “Pop” groups (#2 Arashi $115.35 million; #3 Jonas Brothers $109.87 million; #4 Backstreet Boys $101.36 million) and -- all “Hip Hop” groups: (#1; Eminem $42.82 million; #2 Drake $33.88 million, etc.). As a result of its success, the Rammstein Stadium Tour was shortlisted for the Total Productions International trade association group’s prestigious “Live Production of the Year 2020 Award” . Presented in London, England, February 24, 2020 (1,700 in attendance; Black Tie only), the annual awards event recognized excellence in all facets of concert production, including stage design, stage lighting, sound quality, electrical power, crowd security, transportation technology, as well as the individial managers and management companies of each of the tours. The other nominees for Production of the Year were the Chemical Brothers, Marco Borsato, Muse, Stormzy, and Take That. The award ultimately was won by Stormzy, headlining “The Glastonbury Show”, June 28, 2019 (audience of approx. 135,000). Facts about Rammstein’s tour and stage are from Touringdata.Wordpress.com; // Total Productions International: TPiMagazine, at “tpimagazine.com”, November 2019 “Production Profile: Rammstein” (12 pages); // and WIcreations MotionMag, Oct. 2019: “The Rammstein Case”, p. 25-29. Finally, the whole erection of the stage was considered such an elaborate achievement that the band released a time-lapse video just of the stage construction. It takes six days to fully complete the work. It was the set up they did for one of their first shows, at the Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion, Dresden, Germany, June 12, 2019. This is at ruclips.net/video/JgGuRKgvWQ4/видео.html. It has 10,742,154 views just on its own, as of today, July 31, 2021. The run time is 2 min 38 seconds.
Aileen, you did quite well with your pronunciation of 'Sonne' (meaning, Sun) it's Za - Na, Za to rhyme with bra, and, Na to rhyme with car, or, far, I hope that this helps? Thank you for another great reaction, please keep it up, you're doing such a brilliant job.
I agree, Music really transcends the language barrier. In my Childhood and Teen years, I could barely understand any English and most Music was in English. It was not a problem at all, if the Music is great, you don't need to know what it's about. But when I started to learn English, something incredible happened: I could experience all these Songs for a second time but in a whole different way.
Hi Aileen another reaction where I loved to watch your facial expressions. You are so in the music and make me smile too. I have to give you a compliment about your pronunciation of German words it is nearly perfect. I would like to see a reaction of you to another German band called Eskimo Callboy with there song Hypa Hypa. With best regards, Dieter
I think you should check out a different side of them as well. Rammstein - Seemann(live Lichtspielhaus) "HD" is a great video for that. One it is quite old. 15 years ago and it is a softer more melodic song. Really nice and beautiful.
Hey Aileen, I love 2CU and to feel your passion for Music, all over Genres, thats so nice. Sonne was written for the professional Heavyweight Boxer Wladimir Klitschko, he was world champion round about a decade. As his Management listened 1st time to this Masterpeace, they found it was too agressive - WHAT A MISTAKE!!! How about "Frühing in Paris" or "Du riechst so gut", 2 more Songs to get a feeling for their Range of Composing and Interpretation, especially in their live performances. I cant wait to see more of your reactions! Take care!
Recommend checking out the music video which is just a piece of art. Yeah, music is universal and not always you have to understand to love it. Japan got so many talented bands who are ignored because of language. Recommend checking out Band-maid who I would claim is one of the finest hard Rock bands around! Domination live 2020 is a fine starter.
Hi Aileen! I was originally attracted to your channel as a Floor and Nightwish fan, but Nightwish and Rammstein are my TWO FAVORITE all-time bands for videos, so you are batting 100% on my scorecard !! My experience with Nightwish fans (Gabriel Bardac et. al.), is that they almost always choose the best videos to watch. Unfortunately, the Rammstein fans often do not give links to the best the band has to offer, and it is too bad, given how talented they are, and how spectacular some of the available videos are, *IF* you know where to find them. Specifically, there is a difference of opinion between persons such as myself, who prefer the *2019 Stadium Tour* videos, and some other fans, who prefer the "Paris" or "New York" concert videos. To help reviewers such as yourself, I put together some of my own research on the 2019 Tour, and why the videos of this concert are so important. It is quite a bit of information, so I will put it in separate entries below. DO NOT FEEL THAT YOU *HAVE* TO READ ALL OF THIS MATERIAL AT ONCE !! Its all good information -- tuck it away for when you want to decide on which might be a good video of Rammstein to review further on down the line. But they ARE spectacular videos; I feel I have a good case to make and I look forward to your perhaps reviewing them some day. So see "Part I: The Tour", and "Part II: The Videos", essays below. Keep well ... T.C.
Great to see so many great reactions to Rammstein. This is such a brilliant performance and I hope that their delayed tour goes ahead soon so I can see them in Cardiff.
You do know that Rammstein is touring the US in the late summer of '22, right? I bought my tickets in 2019 and am DYING to see them! I will have had my tickets for 2 1/2 years by the time I finally see them!
In fact, "Sonne" is about a boxing fight (that's why they have a boxing fight in the "Deutschland" video, too) or even more the feeling of the pain in your face. That's why Till hits his face here on stage and that's why they count down.
The video to this song is very iconic as well :) Snow White and the seven dwarfs :) Snowwhite snorting cocaine made of gold and the dwarfs working in the mine to get it for her. And she is whipping their buttocks and tehy adore her. Like humans adore the sun
Mutter is one of their best albums only following Live Aus Berlin imo. There's so much desperation, anger, and beauty to their music. One of a kind, can't be replicated.
The female background Opera singer is actually Flake and his synth magic!!! It sounds just like well, a female background Opera singer. There's a history with this "SONNE" song which was originally made for Klitchko the boxer's entrance music. He hates it. Til and Richard reworked the lyrics and it is a nod to the final 10 seconds before the Enola Gay dropped the bomb~ the band was the flight crew. Please note that Paul and Richard always kneel during Flake's Opera moment to honor the victims of the bomb on Japan. REALLY DEEP STUFF ON THIS ONE!

I would like to know your opinion. I think you will be surprised. Diana has a very unusual voice and artistic presentation for her age.🌹🌹🌹 Thanks in advance
Sonne was supposed to be Vitali Klitschkos Entrance Song while he was a professional boxer, but his management disagree to using it. There actually is still a live audio from the demo song of 'Klitschko' with different lyrics (think it was late 90s) .. Sonne is actually all about boxing ^^
As a teenager friends would always tell me I have to hear a song and it was always super awkward because they’re looking at me the whole time I’m listening and then I had to say I like it. Watching you listening to this song bring back all those awkward feelings of when I used to have to bob my head to show I was interested. Almost feels like you are doing the same. So awkward!!!!
This song was originally written to be entrance music for then Ukrainian Professional Boxer (two time heavyweight champion) Vitali Klitschko (now the mayor of Kyiv, Capitol of Ukraine) Hence the boxing KO countount: Ein, Zwei, Drei, Vier Fünf, Sechs, Sieben , Acht, Neun, AUS! (1 to 9 and OUT!) The song was deemed a bit too violent and never used for its intended purpose so Rammstein reworked it and put it on the album instead

Hello Aileen, you pronounced Sonne nearly correct. It is a soft "S" at the beginning. Don' t put so much stress on the "S" at the beginning. You are right. Music transcends the boundaries of language. Fortunately as a german native i understand everything what they are singing:)
many people think TIll is this expert on pyrotechnique and he probably is at this time but he actually was obligated to make that licnece due to an fire accident on stage ^-^
Back in the days in germany they called Rammstein "Nazis" also cuz of this song. "Sonne" was also seen as a song about follow a leader and hope that he comes. + "Sonne" had a connection to Nazis (The Nazi symbol was the symbol of the Sun god in Buddhism). But that is because many Rammstein songs have more than 1 meaning.
A nice example of a how a nice melody can fool you is a song called "Mai Khao Djai" by German band Knorkator. The music is emotional and beautiful but the lyrics are ridiculous 😌 Give them a try maybe😎 New sub btw
Hello, you are liking nightwish so much, i think you need to listen to Epica, they play the same style of music but are even better. Listen to consign to oblivion live at zenith
Sweet heavy, crunchy and filthy RIFF from hell!! Awesome riff, song and performance! Actually the "backing vocal" is a sound produced in the keyboard by the keyboard player Flake and it´s intentionally made to sound like a women singing, he is very good. Great reaction, try the amazing "Ich Tu Dir Weh" live in Madison Square Garden, hell of a banger and performance also. Keep up the great vids.

Despite only playing 31 shows in Europe, for the 2019 world-wide all-languages category of “Rock Groups”, they were #3 behind only the Rolling Stones and Metallica, and in front of: Fleetwood Mac, KISS, Bon Jovi, U2, and the Eagles (in that order), and of all musical genres in all languages world wide, 4th in the world after only the above three “Rock” groups plus BTS, and world wide were ahead of:
-- all country performers (#1 Garth Brooks $78.29 million; #2 Eric Church $70.67 million; #3 Florida Georgia Line $52.43 million, and #4 Carrie Underwood $51.86 million);
-- all “Pop” groups (#2 Arashi $115.35 million; #3 Jonas Brothers $109.87 million; #4 Backstreet Boys $101.36 million) and
-- all “Hip Hop” groups: (#1; Eminem $42.82 million; #2 Drake $33.88 million, etc.).
Thank you!!! I think I finally mastered pronouncing it 😅 thank you for the support! 🤟🏻♥️
@@AileenSenpai it's my pleasure, really. Thank you again. 😊
"I want" live performance is awesome and you want to sing along....I love your Reaction. Thanks...
100% agree. Sometimes people just give off that aura and can send you their energy through music. It's so beautiful
I reccomend you to watch the official video. I was 3 years old when I saw it.And the result-years later Rammstein became my favourite band)
This is a surprisingly good reaction. Most don't spot the detail. Few are as articulate or intelligent. Bravo. Subscribed
Imagine that heat on the stage nd nearby... I know, I've twice been at a Rammstein concert... OMG whow, my poor eyelids...
I think you should check out a different side of them as well.
Rammstein - Seemann(live Lichtspielhaus) "HD" is a great video for that. One it is quite old. 15 years ago and it is a softer more melodic song. Really nice and beautiful.
I love your reactions to Rammstein. You get them!
React to Rammstein "Mutter" (Mother). React to the Paris Live Video.
i love love love it
Hey Aileen, I love 2CU and to feel your passion for Music, all over Genres, thats so nice.
Take care!
You need to See the 2019 Europe Stadion Tour Version of this Show. Its much cooler ;)
Yes, the original music video is amazing, the live one is nice, but in the official they give theyr best with details an references
Great reaction * love your passion !
Thanks for the reaction.
Don´t forget to check the official video for that song ..
My favorite song baby, rock on 2022
React to Rammstein "Du riechst so gut" (You smell so good). React to the Live at Hellfest 2016 Video.
so funny
Great to see so many great reactions to Rammstein. This is such a brilliant performance and I hope that their delayed tour goes ahead soon so I can see them in Cardiff.
The piano outro at the video for Deutschland is actually a piano version of this song :)
sooo beautiful!
Beauty in all this chaos®
I’ve been listening to rammstein since I was 3 years old and I just turned 15 so about 12 years or so ❤
September 17: Rammstein at the Alamodome, San Antonio. Can. Not. Wait.
Sonne 2019 live multicam!!
Hello! Thank you for the video! Please pay attention to the young singer Diana Ankudinova.Make reactions to the songs of Wicked game, Human🌞🌞🌞DIANA ANKUDINOVA is a talented young singer. I would like to know your opinion. I think you will be surprised. Diana has a very unusual voice and artistic presentation for her age.🌹🌹🌹 Thanks in advance
Diana Ankudinova 😊👍👍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💥💥💥🎉💫💯
1000000%!!!🔥🔥🔥🎤🎤🎤🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶.......Diana-beauty in every minute!!!💖💕💖💕💖💕💖👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Diana Ankudinova is an amazing singer, her voice fascinates!
Diana this is the best thing I've ever heard in my life 🤯 😍
Just so you know, you are beautiful inside and out. Love rammstein too
Ich will (I want) live, please.
so good and funny taking mistake and loughing, i like it
Great reaction, keep ongoing with download festival, mein Herz brennt and Till’s quality shown in Wacken Wiener Blut and Reise Reise.
How much room do you need for the crowd ?
Rammstein : yes
Sonne was supposed to be Vitali Klitschkos Entrance Song while he was a professional boxer, but his management disagree to using it. There actually is still a live audio from the demo song of 'Klitschko' with different lyrics (think it was late 90s) .. Sonne is actually all about boxing ^^
Please!!! 🙏🏽 BENZIN in MADISON / RADIO / and RAMMLIED in MADISON. Just Art!
Just started watching you and you're so nice, you give off great vibes
Here comes the sun and shines for all :)
I recommend to watch the official video of this song 👍
the music video to this song is pretty good
Rammstein is the best way to jam in the car
The video is very cool to this one as well
React to Sonne Live In Saint Petersburg 2019 is amazing
This song was originally written to be entrance music for then Ukrainian Professional Boxer (two time heavyweight champion) Vitali Klitschko (now the mayor of Kyiv, Capitol of Ukraine)
Hence the boxing KO countount: Ein, Zwei, Drei, Vier Fünf, Sechs, Sieben , Acht, Neun, AUS! (1 to 9 and OUT!)
The song was deemed a bit too violent and never used for its intended purpose so Rammstein reworked it and put it on the album instead
Rammstein are unique, amazing, stunning, mindblowing...
Please react to Feuer Frei live at Madison Square Garden, Benzin live at Madison Square Garden and Bück dich Live aus Berlín (no matter if tits from 1999 or 2019) you wont regret such an amazing performance
Thanks for ur vids 🖤
Wow great reaction or is it youre smile dam both so good..... Although it makes me loose my train of thought.....oh ya band maid
Should check out the newer live performance 2019+ with a lot more fire!
Im realy excited if i see people from USA , where like German Music like this. I hear so many people where say Nazi music or something like this shittalk and i realy like ur reactions. :). I wish u a nice day.
Thank you! You as well! ❤️
Hello Aileen, you pronounced Sonne nearly correct. It is a soft "S" at the beginning. Don' t put so much stress on the "S" at the beginning.
You are right. Music transcends the boundaries of language. Fortunately as a german native i understand everything what they are singing:)
This is absolutely ORGASMIC...Till can fill my ears anytime
many people think TIll is this expert on pyrotechnique and he probably is at this time but he actually was obligated to make that licnece due to an fire accident on stage ^-^
I recommend that you choose a Sonne live video from the 2019 tour instead. Its an incredible show. 😀
A nice example of a how a nice melody can fool you is a song called "Mai Khao Djai" by German band Knorkator.
The music is emotional and beautiful but the lyrics are ridiculous 😌
Give them a try maybe😎
New sub btw
Rammstein Best song tank you
Hello, you are liking nightwish so much, i think you need to listen to Epica, they play the same style of music but are even better. Listen to consign to oblivion live at zenith
Zénith from France ?
Epica better then Rammstein? Not in my opinion.
For me as a German it's the same with my favorite band (Band-Maid) because I don't speak Japanese fluently.
you would probably enjoy all their "making of" videos to their music videos.
Rammstein Benzin, fever Frei, mein herz brennt live 🙏
Hi Aileen, look at Ramstein's title Seemann and the cover version by Nina Hagen. I look forward to your reaction. Greetings from Germany!
I will check it out :)
Rammstein und der Tag ist gerettet -))
Next video: Ohne Dich live 2013 :)
I have that shirt!
Noo official video is better for first time viewing
