Thank you so much for the tutorial! Had to install 3 of these in a house, 2 if which were over furniture. Very difficult to manage the box into the ceiling with blades in the face and being careful of customer furniture. Made it a painfully longer experience.
Glad i caught your review. One item i just noticed though - be REALLY careful if you're doing this to an existing hardwired light. I have separate dimmer/fan switches. Support tells me I can't use my remote and have to install without receiver, especially because switches have separate wires. The note about no dimmer and switch like that is IN the box nothing on outside. We will see what happens.
is this possible to install this fan if you only have a positive an a negative coming out of ceiling old house and if so a short description would help me thanks would i put the box on with the power wire for the fan an light
Hello i was installing the same fan but I only have black, red and white wires came out from the ceiling BUT the fan remote control have only black and white cables I connected black with black and white to white BUT I have only 1 switch for the light so black is not working for the switch so can I connect red and black for the switch to control the fan and light?
My buddy just installed one of these for me in one of my bedrooms and everything works fine, except the stupid app says no fan within range and can't find the fan. Does that wifi antenna literally need to be outside of the canopy and on the ceiling? It kinda shows it like that in the diagram but I can't fathom doing that since the canopy is very tight to the ceiling and would pinch tf out of the wire...? Super irritating I can't get it to work at all with app since I spent the extra money for a smart fan. Any suggestions? I'm having a hard time finding anything via google.
Can the LED be change to a different color? My mom loves the fans but not the color of the light. She's asking to see if it can be change to a bright white LED.
Were you able to get one switch on your wall to turn on/off the fan, and the other to turn on/off the light? My electrician wired everything to one switch and told me I now have to use the remote to control everything. This just doesn't seem right.
Robert Starkey - the fan is running from 1 wall switch. These newer fans only have 1 power connection (for both the light and the fan). When the wall switch is on, you control everything with the remote. Once you flip the wall switch OFF - remote control becomes useless. I hope this helps.
Robert Starkey - not unless you want to modify the stock wiring. This fan is designed to run on one set of wires. The switch turns on or off the whole circuit. The actual operation (fan and the light) are controlled with remote. If you find of a way to split the operation into 2 switches - let me know. I’d be interested in this workaround.
@@RobertStarkey I tried and unless you don't want to use the remote for the fan you can use the second switch by hooking up the extra power wire from the ceiling to the black motor wire on the remote box. But if you want to use the remote for both you can only use the above-mentioned option.
You should make a point of letting people know that your video is for a "Flush Mount" type installation. No down rod. The down rod complicates things in a major way when trying to put the receiver in the canopy. It's basically impossible.
Fix: moved AC (house wires) out from the middle of the hanger and running around the edge of the outside, therefore the receiver now has enough room to fit under the gap of the sloped ceiling and above the fan hanger
Did the area by the wiring on the motor assembly bend upwards. Its not completely flat. I'm trying to see if this is a defective product or how it come. Its circular and has holes in it. Right under the wires..
This wss a good tutorial for the installation but i don't like this fan because the remote is buggy and the fan doesn't respond always to the remote i can't deal with that. I cannot have a fan that responds off and on or experience a ridiculously long delay before it actually does anything.
I installed a similar fan a few months ago and it has always had an issue with the power to both the fan and the light cutting off for a second or two before coming back on. Sometimes this happens once per hour and sometimes it happens every 5 minutes. Is this an issue with a poor connection? I didn’t use the drop bar so it’s flush mounted to the ceiling and it was a huge pain to get set up the one time which has kept me from going back up to fix it. Before I do I want to be sure what the problem is. Thanks!
It sounds like the controller box might be faulty. I’d recommend double checking the connections. Make sure that they have not come apart. If that doesn’t work, your best bet is to call the manufacturer and ask them. Usually they can spot the issue based on the symptoms. Let me know how it works out!
@@Outlaw_SEO Thank you! I will double check the connections here in the next day or two while I’m off work but I’ll call the manufacturer first and see if they can troubleshoot the problem before I do that. Great idea! I’ll give an update once it’s all worked out.
I installed the fan but now I just realized there’s no chains hanging down to turn off the fan or the light that leaves me with only the switch. If I should lose the remote defend pretty much becomes useless, correct?
You are correct. The new model does come with WiFi built in: fanimation.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/LP8069_AireDrop_WiFi__ENG_-SPA_A5_OM_05_24_19.pdf The installation in the video was done on a 2020 version without WiFi.
Did the fan ever work or does it not work after the install? If it's #1: Either the fan died and needs to be replaced, or a wire came loose inside the ceiling box and needs to be reconnected and secured well for the future. If it's the latter: Most likely the wires got connected wrong.
One of very few DIY videos which guide step to step from Unboxing to Power ON. Thank you!!
Cheers. Glad you liked it
I have 3 of these fans in same room. All of a sudden light has stopped working in one of them. Is this a replacement for it

What did you do with the copper wire?
Thank you for the tutorial, I just got one of those Fans...
Good video!
This helped me out a lot. Thanks for taking the time to upload 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

Really good looking fan both the bronze and black

How did you determine how to sync the remote to the box in the ceiling? Which # setting combo other than factory set?
I had mine installed yesterday and made my life easier. Thank you! Now, I need to change that annoying led color to 5k.
Glad it helped
Where did you find the 5k lights?
I can’t get the light to dim or brighten? How do I fix this?
It is possible to change the led? My mom wants it bright white.
I’m no sure if I see right the you did res and black connection !,
Where can i change the direction of the fan?

Just the dimming function. You can ask Fanimation if they have other colors.
Your video was helpful, thank you.
I have the same fan. Does yours make a humming noise when running? mine does.
Mine runs like a champ. With four other fans around me, this one is the best performing one of the bunch.
Can you please tell me how you connected the sensor wiring to the box

where has it been updated for that?!

Have you tried to reverse the fan?
Yes. There is a switch on top of the canopy
@@Outlaw_SEO any chance of showing me the switch please?
If you look on the fan base (above the blades), there are air vents all the way around. One of those vents has a movable switch.
@@Outlaw_SEO That did the trick, thank you 👍.

I don’t recall anything being bent.
I have this fan, and it is the worst fan I have ever used because it works at random. Sometimes, you can turn it on or not

I mounted the remote to the wall, so it never leaves the cradle. But if does get lost, you can get a replacement unit online.
@@Outlaw_SEO Which isn't cheap at all!
Thank you sir! Great details and crazy design to put the fans on first!! $%&@#
Does anyone know what that switch is on the inside when you’re putting the fan blades on. It’s a black switch on the motor
It changes the direction of the airflow. In the summer the fan pushes the air towards the floor and during winter the air flow can be reversed.
Remit has a dimmer on it but it never goes brighter or dimmer? How do I fix this??
The dimmer on the remote or on the wall switch?
The remote has a dimmer setting but doesn’t dim. Im wondering if the air drop light isn’t a dimming bulb and I need to upgrade it
@@chuuuse3000 It should dim. Mine does
The control box was also for the wifi connection for the fan so it can be controlled via an app or hub

I was disappointed with the light output since im using mine in a dinning room, it is too dim
I agree, I wouldn’t use it as the light source over the dining table.
How do I uninstall?
Unscrew the bottom light to access the rest of the screws.
Fanimatin aire drop and celano v2 is same
You are correct. It looks like it’s the same thing under a different name.
That was painful.....
Agreed…
These are the worst fans in the world to wire. Make you cram 20lbs of shit in a 5lb bag it’s insane. Hunter fans are so much easier.
Too slow moving
