at 32:02 when you reroll the shop, were you hoping for multiple 2cost weapons? After deciding that an 8g item is too expensive to cycle, wouldn't it also be too expensive to hit the reroll button? Cycling an 8cost item means it costs you 4 gold. Reroll shop being 3g and cycling a 2 cost weapon costing 1 gold. That means cycling an 8cost item (4g) would be the equivelant as rerolling shop (3g) + cycling a 2cost item (1g). So rerolling shop would only be more efficient if you hit multiple 2 or 4 cost items. Was this something you kept in mind when making this decision? Genuine question, im here to learn. I suppose it comes down to what the expected average itemcost is on a day 11 weapon shop. Thanks for the upload!
the main logic I had was that even if I cycle an 8 gold weapon, I'd still roll the shop to cycle more cheap weapons. So it's still an additional 4 gold for the buff (if the roll is 100% happening. If I was potentially not rolling, just cycling the weapon could be fine). But maybe my logic is flawed and it's always optimal to just cycle the weapon and not roll. Someone could probably math out the EV of money spent to expected average returns
Hey Ben, just want say that I love your content and all your input and commentary. The bazaar is a great game and I love seeing content for it but do you plan on doing more backpack battles again? I know the game fell off quite a bit but I really enjoyed watching you play that game as well
I tried a bunch of medium item combos, including octo+knife set :) It was just the most interesting one in the video even if it wasn't the best one, so I used that over caltrops + knife set, which would also be a decent screenshot
what exactly do you feel like is the misleading part? That i didn't finish with that build? How would you feel about me using caltrops instead, even though I only ran that 1 more round?
@ItsBen321 I think personally it felt misleading because the anticipation of the exact build that was shown never really got played. Like yes you used it which is fair but it was not what I expected when I clicked the video. I still think the run was a great watch so maybe seeing more core items in the thumbnail might have helped.
sadly youtube just doesn't work like that, if I put atlatl and crook in the thumbnail nobody cares because it just seems like any ordinary Pyg game (which were the core items). The interesting part in this video is that I got to try these different cool medium items (knife set, octo, caltrops) even if just for a round, didn't think it was that much clickbait because I do actually show/play that build and interaction. But for me to close out the game and actually win it I had to switch into a stronger version at the end. But I understand what you mean, people might anticipate the whole build and game to revolve around that interaction
