Those might be one of the best looking widely available 3rd party scales I've seen. Bonus points to Flytanium for also being cool about asking them to drill for left-hand carry clip screw holes. PS: I would love it if Flytanium made something similar for the mini RSK! I'd order immediately.
I had a BHQ Exclusive Bugout with a 20CV blade so I put these scales on that, and it turned a good EDC into a really great EDC. You make some good points but we mod the knives we love, so the cost rarely factors into it.

I have had six sets of Flytanium titanium scales for different knives, and have found ALL of them to be very high quality and they always make the knife better. RECOMMENDED!
This really did breath new life into my 2 y/o EDC Blue Bugout. I especially like the deeper milling around the Axis lock, making the mechanism much easier to access. Thx Nick
I totally agree, these scales make the Bugout feel like a completely different knife. I think $200 for the set is a great deal considering the quality of the materials. Adding the Crossfade scales has now made the Bugout my go to EDC.
Wow. What a very nice and generous gesture by flytanium to do that custom lazer engraving. You're a lucky guy Nick. I just got a Bugout (love my gf) and since these scales were good enough to break the best knife of the year rules, I had to check em out and I think I'm gonna get some for mine. Thanks Mr. S
Nick, I gotta admit I love when the puns seem to cause you as much pain as they cause us. I must be a masochist though because next to the info you provide the puns are why I'm here for every video.
Thanks Nick! Now I have to go looking to see if these guys make scales for the Valet. Mind you, here in Australia the Valet is already a $300+ knife as standard…🙁
Hmmm was looking at Titanium folders. l put a set of their grey G10 scales on my Bugout. A definite improvement but, only if you have skinny fingers like me. Those scales are a flat slab with no milling around the lock bar. l like the look of these scales :). Thanks Nick!
I really like aluminum scales for the bugout. A good compromise between the plastic and titanium. Feels a lot nicer than the plastic and comes in at 2.35 oz.
I just replaced my omega springs and put on these scales today and omg I used to like the bugout and now I absolutely love it. It really is like a different knife but it still keeps the essential character ❤ also these scales fixed the centering on my knife somehow
I've been watching the vid with your orange mini you put the titanium scales on completely changed the knife soon as I get the 🥜 to break the warranty or when the omega spring breaks im gonna do it
@@wasawasablingbling I heard a softer omega spring mostly fixes the spring breakage problem. So you could have saved some money by buying one set of softer springs . A softer spring will also reduce the amount of times you’ll have to take the knife apart, this will prevent screws and screw heads from breaking and stripping.
Hated my Bugout and dare I say preferred my SOG terminus xr over it. Almost gave it away to my brother until I put these crossfade scales on it. Now its one of my favorite knives. Completely changes it.
@@danakinstreetrider they’re pretty light. I haven’t had my stock scales on in about a year, but compared to my bugout with g10 they’re noticeably lighter while also being very solid. They have a little bit of flex compared to g10, but nothing like the stock scales.
these have some nice contours. I recently went with the rockscale titanium critter scales and I'm super happy with them, but these scales are substantially cheaper which is sweet. btw titanium doesn't make the knife a whole lot heavier, but it handles so much better and feels way more sturdy. unless you're a hardcore hiker and counting every ounce you'll just benefit from having titanium scales over the base model's grivory.
So my question is- do you think that this is a better deal than using Benchmades knife maker and getting 20cv plus titanium scales or do you think buying a regular bugout and these scales are the better deal?
These are by far a better deal and better quality than the custom shop. You can almost buy two Flytanium Bugouts for the cost of a Benchmade customized Bugout.
I only wish that Benchmade could have set this knife up like a TRM with an ez-change scale system so I can easily switch back and forth, because I do love the grivory scales, but i also want the option of titanium for a little something extra. Guess Ill be buying a second Bugout...there are worse things.
For $200 you can get a carbon fiber scale TRM Neutron which has 20CV steel, is even thinner than the bugout, and is also lighter than this titanium version.
It’s like benchmade knew the knife community would just mod the shitty, cheap-to-produce part of it. But I eturned my bugout bc it didn’t feel like $150 in my hand
@@dylandwyer6305 $150? You can get them around a $100 at several retailers with a code for 15% off. It definitely is a cheap feeling knife but the flexy handles aren't an actual problem.

There is a place to request left handed clip holes when you purchase the scales from Flytanium. Not positive, but I think they even do it at no additional charge.

FYI the G10 and FRN Bugouts do have different barrel spacers. From other comments it seems they still work with both types, so that’s good news.

Do they have these scales for the mini?
I put Blue G10 on mine. Nice change, and there isn't a lanyard gap in the rear.

Just for grins, is it better to get these scales and the standard Bugout or to get the upcoming 535BK-4 in M-390?
I’m going with the 535 personally.
Depends of if you think m390 is an upgrade. It is more edge retention but is not as tough as s30v
those scales are compatible with bugout 535-5?
Can you do a 945 Mini Osburne review?
