I started watching your videos because I was thinking of going to the fitness retreat in Ko Samui, then I saw the elephant sanctuary and got hooked on seeing all your adventures. Thank you for sharing. 😊
I was originally looking at Fitness Street, but then changed some things around. I think I was really surprised by how much there is to do here in Thailand. I haven’t even scratched the service .
I make videos to remember what I thought, what I planned, and the 'why's' like you mentioned here. I have some that are published, but some that are also private. If I happen to get interest, okay.. But if not, no big deal. I wish I had videos of my Mother, Aunt, and grand parents. There is nothing of them except a few old pictures. I like the videos by people that are speaking from the heart and not trying to sell something. Too many good YT channels get big and then start all the commercial stuff which I eventually stop watching, and eventually unsub. Keep doing your videos. Like you said it's for you.
Good morning Julia. I’m happy you’re here. A lot of what you said was so true. Please keep on as long as you want to. I feel you’re that friend that you don’t talk to every day, but when you do get the chance, it’s a great catch up. And that’s what I’m going to do now, catch up on your videos.
Isn’t it amazing that when it really comes down to it, it’s a small world and awesome that we can connect with people we don’t personally meet, but have connections with. Life is beautiful!
Julia….I for one am always interested in what you are up to, as underneath it all I would love to have the courage to do what you are doing. I am not one who comments or do a “thumbs up” BUT I at least appreciate YOU.
What you do is interesting. Your personality is interesting. If you like doing videos do them if not don’t but I would miss your hearing your voice and see the interesting stuff you share with us.😀
I get a lot out of watching your videos. I don't always comment, because, well, I never want to stumble over my words (which happens often!) and bore you. Thanksgiving is over, so I'm curious about how your family feels about your traveling adventures. Are you supported or do they wish you would stay nearby? Your videos are unique and special to many of us! Thank you for sharing, Julia!
I wanted to tell you that you look amazing. The retreats and detox that you have been doing seem to really have agreed with you. I agree with you on the why of videos. I am hoping to start vlogging but it was going to be for me and youtube would just be the album I use to store them. I want something to look back on when I am really old and can't get out and about anymore. I do enjoy your videos along with the descriptions and hints that you give. I just renewed my passport and am hoping to be able to do some international travel soon.
Never thought about how this will be watched by your family in the future. They will love it! By the way, the new lifestyle suits you well. Your face shows how much healthier you are now 🎉
Health has definitely been a priority and a big part of my reason for being here. I have had to stay focused because there are so many wonderful distractions.
I do enjoy your videos. I check each morning to see if you have posted something new 🙂 I will do my best to comment more often. And I agree with the others, you do look amazing.
I enjoy your vlogs so much. I really look forward to each of them. Thank you for documenting your tips, adventures and travels for your family and for your RUclips friends like me. Many Blessings and safe travels ❤
This video really resonates with me. I'm thinking about starting a channel for these reasons too. I want to be able to document my adventures so I can look back when I get older. And if anyone out in RUclips land wants to follow along with me, that's great ☺ I like your videos because they are genuine, real, and inspiring. I know that editing can be a beast...it's time consuming and can get overwhelming, so you should only post videos if/when you want to. Please know that what you have to say is important to those of us who follow you 💛
Hey Julia, you articulated your Why so well. You are the same age as me doing RUclips and I started exactly the same way, documenting my first hike in the Himalayas just for me. So I could go back some day and re live it but I must say I have fallen in love with the process and would still do it even if no one watched.
I watch your videos. I have enjoyed the hiking and backpacking, and minimalism. I am 60 and love hiking and getting out in nature. You inspire others to do the same! I also like seeing and learning more about Thailand and other cultures. I put it on my list of places I'd like to visit. So thank you --- and yes, keep going and just do it as long as its enjoyable and meaningful for you!
Keep shining, Jules! It will be amazing for not only you to watch these back, but your kids, grandkids... I wish I had videos of my experiences, and better yet, my parents. Love you and your passion!
@juliastimeout Me too. My mom had old audio reels converted to digital about 7 years ago, with my Dad talking to me when I was a baby. I bawled my eyes out when I heard them. I hadn't heard his voice since 2003 when he passed. One of the things that bothered me most is, before that, I couldn't remember his voice. I still listen to those tracks just to smile and keeps his memory closer. It makes me smile to watch your videos too. I love how genuine they are, and it's awesome to see you talk about your adventures. You'll always have a special place in my heart, Jules- no matter where you are or how long it's been since we've seen each other :)
I'm 70,....I have a room full of boxes with photos I took. Not so much of my family growing up, though I inherited all the old photos, too. I love them all. However the thing I am most sad about, is,...that we never recorded our family members voices on anything. I haven't heard my grand mother's, my mom's, & my dad's voice in years. They all died so long ago. Even when I wanted to record their voices, no body wanted to sit and be recorded. I had hoped to sneak a tape recorder into my mom's house,....when she was 70 and dying from Cancer. That seemed so sneaky and dishonest, that I never did that. It matters little,....I'm estranged from my older sister, we are barely civil when we do talk once or twice a year. I'm not close with her kids, who are now in their 40s, and have their own children. Her kids think their uncle, (me) is a weirdo,.....because of my sister's non-stop character bashing. One of nieces has already died, she was not even 45 years old. My girlfriend who I've been with for 40 years,....hates to be photographed, so I have very few photos of her. She would never let me take a video of her either, so no recordings of her voice. We don't have kids, and we were never officially, married. We lived together, for 15 years and have lived separately, for 25 years,....though she lives only a few blocks away, in her own house. I'm surprised how many of my male friends have already died, and I never recorded their voices, either. I do have photos of most of them. For the last 20 years I have been keeping a journal, of my memories, of my family growing up, my life experiences since I went out on my own. Thinking it might be helpful to myself, if my memory begins to fail. In 2006, I was prescribed some medications, to relieve my depression, and that was the worst thing, I could have done. It wiped away all my memories completely. I lost my short term memory, and most of my memories going back about 20 years. I stopped taking the medication, because it made my depression worse, and it was compounded by the memory loss. It took almost two years to recover, and to my utter delight, all my memories returned. My long term and short term memory, was restored.
getting comments is icing on the cake. you're doing this journey for you. I'm in my 60s & heading to iceland to camp in a Tesla camper with a friend in february. no vids for me..just lots of pics & memories. this is what life's about. if no one watches your vids does it diminish your intention? your feelings? your experience? no. fwiw, I look forward to your vids because I feel we have a lot in common & I enjoy your content. . I hope you continue to post. have a great day
I haven't gotten over the fear of posting my first video but one of my reasons for wanting to is if something happens to me and lose my memory I think it would be helpful to have videos. I'll try and be better about liking and commenting
I would seriously miss seeing what you are up to if you stopped! It's so weird, don't know you, will likely never actually meet or talk to you, but it's like I know I'd like you if we ever did meet?
Thumbs up 👍 Julias
Thank you and I love your channel name! 🥭

I will continue for sure. Deep down I think I would regret it if I stopped.

I love doing the videos, but just with anything in life, there are those days. I know I would regret it later if I stopped.

I enjoy your spirit of adventure.
I love your vids, Julia! It opens up my mind to different types of travel that are possible for solo retired women. Safe travels and all the Best.

Keep shining, Jules! It will be amazing for not only you to watch these back, but your kids, grandkids... I wish I had videos of my experiences, and better yet, my parents. Love you and your passion!
I always think about how special it would be to have one short video of somebody that you love, but no longer have their physical presence. ❤
