Love this bio of Paul Lynde. There was no one like him and it did not matter to me if he was gay or not. He was so talented and good looking and this is why so many people loved him. Too bad he is gone. None of the comedians today even come close to Paul and his talent.
I wonder why Paul Lynde wanted to be uncredited for his voice work as Mildew Wolf (It's The Wolf) & Sylvester Sneekley/The Hooded Claw (Perils of Penelope Pitstop). With that, he was on all 3 networks in 1969.
Having a friend fall from your hotel widow has to be pretty traumatic. I wonder if that contributed to his alcoholism and the meanness he displayed when drunk.
can u imagine paul doing a show w robin williams???? that would be over the top,,, paul didnt realyze how loved n successful he really was,,funniest son of a bitch ever
I don't think you may be naive. You just have a good heart and could never imagine that someone like Paul, who was so very funny, would even do such a thing. All I am saying is that Hollywood has destroyed so many young lives in one way or another. The comment I wrote was just a made up scenario, as an example of what Hollywood has been capable of.
Well, I take no pleasure in saying that but even his friends were suspicious and the stdio canceled his new series. Paul put a lit cigarette out on a man's cheek too. That is out of control. Nevertheless, Paul was one funny guy and made a lot of pwople laugh to this day.
So many comidic actors from Paul's era are now forgotten. He seems to be having a second rennisance. Quick wit with an original unique delivery.
Paul didn't stay for the 1979-1980 NBC season, but returned for the 1980-1981 syndicated season in Vegas.

Well said and well put !! :-)
We watched Hollywood square every time it was on and only because of Paul Lynde
Thanks for posting all the parts to this bio that has not aired in a long time.
I wish I could have met him

I imagine that somewhere, they are doing shows together... trying to top each other!
I may be naive but I find it hard to believe he could be capable of murder. Cruelty yes but not murder.
