    Having the battery indicator hidden isn't such a bad thing since it keeps it stealthy and tactical. Let's say you were hiding in the dark, hunting, you wouldn't want a flashing led visible. Great review, thanks!

    The light is a laser, but not a white light laser and on its own emits little visible light. The light leaving the lens comes from a small plate with a phosphor that emits white light when excited by the laser. The beam from the laser is collimated, and the emitted white light is also. There is little beam spread over the useful distance. Reflective tape on safety vests and sides of semi-trailers reflect this light with high efficiency and makes them visible from hundreds of yards. The price is all in the projector, as it seems the case is from a dollar store.

    Thanks for a great review, and wow that the HT30R looks totally awesome. One thing you didn't mention in your review, which matters to me, is whether the front-most lens/protector panel is made of glass or some kind of polymer. With all that perfection in the beam, I would hate to think of scratching the front surface if cleaning it from dust and debris. If you still have the unit, please could you try to find out and reply here? Thanks!

    • @ChrispyThings

      From everything that I can tell, and looking at it again, I’d say that this is no polymer. Even though I can find no documentation on it I’m going to go ahead and say this lens is glass

    The tk30 is smaller, more practical and can easily be attached to a rifle for night time target shooting. This new one is more of a novelty for it being too big

    • @spyder6423
      @spyder6423 Год назад

      The TK30 is smaller, yes, but this one was built with mounting in mind. Its larger size and weight allows it to absorb recoil more without the shock being distributed into the light. Also, the double spring system is also for eating up that momentum. Also, the HT30R throws the beam 25% farther than the TK30, and has about 2 hours more runtime.

    • @ziadkadi
      @ziadkadi Год назад

      @Spyder smaller is better for my use. Good point about the recoil but it's made to withstand a fall of 1 meter and my rifles have minimal recoil to none

    • @TheKimjoh560
      @TheKimjoh560 Год назад +1

      They are both novelty unless you have an actual use for a highly specialized light like this. If you do have a use for such a light the HT30R will likely perform better at those tasks. The TK30's doesnt have the same throw. It's listed to have a shorter range by 300 meter. While this on it's own doesnt mean a great deal since few people need to shine a light on something 1500 meters away it also translate to the beam being less focused at all other ranges aswell.

    • @ziadkadi
      @ziadkadi Год назад

      @TheKimjoh560 I have my tk30 on a magnet mount that can easily be attached to any of my rifles in a second. The size and weight is huge advantage in my case and the range is more than enough for my use. I would never buy this new one as it won't suit my needs and won't be as tactical and useful

    • @TheKimjoh560
      @TheKimjoh560 Год назад +2

      @@ziadkadi I can see how the smaller version would be better suited as a rifle mounted light especially of you take it on and off alot with a mount permanently attached to the light. I have no use for a LEP mounted on any of my guns as I have other preferences. I carry this in an ASP holster on my duty belt and use it for other things.

    Who cares about the meters ..500 Lumens it’s nothing

    • @TheKimjoh560
      @TheKimjoh560 Год назад +2

      This technology doesnt work like that. It sounds like 500lm is nothing but it will actually look much brighter than most lights at distance (even at the 100lm setting) because there is no spill. Normal lights put those lumens all over the place.
      If you shine a 500 lm LEP and a light of the same formfactor of 3000lm at a wall a couple of inches in front of you the 3000lm light will be brighter. If you back upp 30 paces and do the same thing the LEP will be significantly brighter because the other light wilo light up the entire room instead of a smaller area where you are pointing it.
      This technology might not be useful for the average user but its not designed to be.
