my guy coming through the clean video before everyone else!!! just picked up my pair today, you helped for reference with the lace style… (mine weren’t laced up already lol) personally these shoes are so much better in person far as being leaked for awhile and people having so many opinions on them already, totally get the argument but these still make a great shoe considering what és was working with.
Thanks so much. Yea even if you hate that it’s not a full reissue it still looks great in person and skates great. It makes me want to get the white/navy ones in the fall.
I really like the reissues they've done (I have the creager and muska) but the kostons suck dude both are half the original shoe. I had the k1 and 2 ogs back in the day and I'd like to have the same outsole as they had back then it was a big part of the look and feel of the shoe when skating them
I hear you, and you're saying what a lot of people are saying and I agree with you. For some reason, this is what they gave us. I don't hate the Evant sole...I'm not a huge fan of the Evant shoe as a whole though. What sucks is that éS is making a new accel (Accel Fit) with a new sole mold for Spring 25 when they could have gave us a real Koston 1 or 2 OR 3 sole.
I haven’t started skating these yet, but I’ve skated a bunch of Evants and love them. I’m a fan of the Evant sole. I find them rather comfortable for a skate shoe. I’ll probably do a wear test here soon. I’m currently skating a pair of the Swift 1.5’s. After that I’ll move on to the 298.
@@davidsimon1873 pretty sure they were a preorder that shouldn't have been made available for preorder because I bought them last summer technically, same thing with the navy/red creager
@@cte same sole which skates great! I had the Asta Evant colorway; the 298 is a vastly different shoe, fits and feels way better on my foot. It skates better than the Evant IMO, and you get that “feeling yourself” vibe in the 298. There are more colorways coming later this year and early next year so def hop on those
Hows the fit? Are they true to size? Im a size 9.5 in the 197 and in the creager reissues. I went a half size up in those. And they fit great. But in the es tribo im a size 9 and they fit great. Im a 9 in the es evants also they also fit great. My true to size is a size 9. So should i go true go size in these or go up half a size?
I’m a 9 in accel OG, Creager, Evant, and the 298. These for me just fine, the toe is narrower than the heel, the heel is wide and my heel does lift a bit when walking. If that bothers you then use the hidden lace loops inside, keeps your foot in more snug.
I had the original: It was soft like a runner due to the foam. This new model is hard as a rock. Personally I bought this shoe and was very disappointed, mainly due to its lack of being a runner style shoe. The old shoe was not really a skate shoe, it was a runner/chill shoe. This new shoe is more of a skate shoe but very uncomfortable. People who bought this shoe back then didn’t skate em, it was the chill shoe. éS dropped the ball on this one for the OG crowd, plus the red in the tongue bleeds onto the laces and socks, also the shoe is a half size too small compared to their other shoes.
Thank you for this, it's better than looking at a picture of the shoe and shitting on it. A chill shoe in 98/99 was WAY ahead of its time, especially when the target audience are 10-17 year olds who can barely afford new shoes to skate when needed but I can see the K2 being a chill shoe. I skated my 298 and like I said the Evant sole is great for skating and now this shoe is also great for skating. I can see OG's who did have the K2 being torn about buying it.
I’m confused why you think people didn’t skate them? It wasn’t as popular as the Koston 1, but a ridiculous amount of people I knew skated and loved them, including myself. As for myself, I find the new shoe pretty comfortable for a skate shoe.
@@driftlessskater5475 is this addressed to me or the original commenter? Back when the Koston 2 was around I was skating shoes with rubber toes like the Emerica Reynolds and Templeton 2 because they lasted me longer.

If they re made the sole unit for the creagers that have an air bag I feel like they can do it for this shoe. We all want it, if we can’t have it I’d love it if they explained exactly why
@@enjoy_the_board that’s the most logical reason. But they’ve done it for the OG-1 (sole tech) so I feel like I’m just holding onto hope for something that won’t ever be haha

You see the new creager reissues came out in red and blue on the es site?
yessir, I got a pair of those and the white/royal creagers
When the white/royal creagers come out? Were they a pre order?
I also ordered a pair of the blue and red creagers.

Oh man lucky. If I had known about a pre-order then I would have ordered them early also.
Great review. I nearly ordered these but decided against it. I have a couple of pairs of white/red evants. I see the evant every time I see these.

The tongue is bigger than the K2, no idea why as it was never that kind of puffy style of shoe.
