I use the PA 144-432-21-3BP here in the UK on the RSGB UKAC Contests. It has certainly improved my signal strength, but more so, the reception. It is really good. Looking forward to the vid. 73, M7EGD.
The IC-705 won't measure SWR correctly on vhf/uhf because, per the advanced manual, the output power has to be set to more than 5 watts to measure SWR. The IC-705 only puts out 5 watts on vhf/uhf.
Hey mate, click on M.Scope and then click on EXPD/SET button. Then scroll down until you find Center Type Display - change that to Carrier Point Center (Absolute Frequency). More info in this video here - ruclips.net/video/PTDSF4eYm2I/видео.html

Good quality, I can't reach my repeater from my handheld but haven't tried an external antenna yet. I'll have to make a note of that one.

Thanks Gary, yes great antennas!
It would of been nice if you did an A B Comparison it would of showed the gain difference in real time ... Maybe next time you can do that .. :)
Great video! I’m currently making one similar design but using 3D printed brackets
Nice! Thanks for the comment

When would you use the antenna vertical or horizontal? Thanks..
Usually SSB/CW is horizontal, FM is vertical
Can I use the antenna on vhf alone, have a similar diamond 1430s7 model?
Hayden, how did you get the freq display under the waterfall at around the 15:00 mark?

i am wondering how the coax is supposed to route, can't fathom how it will to keep swr low dunno
Out the back of the antenna, past the reflector
PA144-432-8-09RAV, now that's a catchy name! 😅 Looks great!
What a mouthful of a model number! Thanks for watching, just discovered your TikTok the other day, keep it up and hopefully we can have a QSO soon
@@HamRadioDX Awesome! Yeah absolutely, that'd be fab! Really enjoying streaming HF mobile live, it's already got some new folks licenced!
@@ellenfromnowon awesome that’s so good! Yes I saw on one of your videos you got Australia from down near the water I think, nice setup in your car
@@HamRadioDX Yep! It's simple but it works. Australia, French Guiana, Japan, Qatar all tonight too, an absolute delight
Nice! On 20 metres? Bands have been awesome lately. UK/Europe usually from here in the next few hours consistently lately
Hayden, did you but direct from company, or is there agent in VK? Tim VK5AV.
I have purchased all my yagis direct from them
@@HamRadioDX Looks impressive and i'm thinking would make a good Portable Yagi.
Do you really need the insulators?
👍👍👍
