Cannot wait for Eternals💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖. I have a feeling we will also see Odin in this film. I think Odin was also an Eternal. I remember Odin called Asgard "the realm of the eternals" when he was introducing Asgard to us in the first Thor film.

I enjoyed the trailer. It really had a different feel then the usual Marvel movie trailer and I am not saying that is a bad thing. Just felt very different
I enjoyed it as well. I only know a little bit about the Eternals from the comics, but it is a very unique franchise to explore with huge implications for the future and for popular characters to arrive as well as introduce a new cosmic element to the MCU. Just like Guardians were different and fresh back in 2014, so will this.

@@JHollandIf you need some help in learning more about the Eternals and the villains then I can briefly say that the Eternals are a race of super-powered intergalactic guardians that protect the Earth and hold a much larger history as nearly immortal beings who are are described as an offshoot of the evolutionary process that created sentient life on Earth.
When the *Celestials (ancient God's that existed at the dawn of the universe, and created the Eternals)* visited Earth one million years ago and performed genetic experiments on early proto-humanity, they created *three divergent races* : the current population of evolving *Humans* , the long-lived *Eternals* , and the genetically unstable and monstrously grotesque *Deviants* (likely antagonists). These experiments also led to the capacity for super-powered mutations in humans (the Mutant population of humans, the same race of humans that comprise the X-men). They also performed this experiment on other planets (such as the Kree and Skrull homeworlds) with similar results.
Despite looking human, Eternals are much longer-lived (but were not originally fully immortal) and that kept them from having much contact with their human cousins. Eternals have a low birth rate; they can interbreed with humans but the result is always normal humans. Despite this, the Eternals have in general protected the human race, especially from the Deviants, with whom they have always had an enmity. The Eternals also developed advanced technology.

this is very likely because it's been directed by Chloe Zhao, whose just won some Oscars and insisted on filming on location with as less green screen as possible!

You should do more reactions, to movies, tv-series episodes, etc.
You should definitely read the Eternals miniseries by Neil Gaiman and John Romita, Jr from 2006 to familiarize yourself with the story of the Earthbound Eternals that appears to be getting adapted in this film. And if you really want to dig deep, the 1985 Eternals miniseries by Peter B. Gillis and Walt Simonson centers around a conflict between the Eternals and the Deviants (who I hope will be villains in the film). And, finally, the Eternals series by Jack Kirby in the 70s establishes A HUGE part of Marvel's foundation, including giving you background on the Eternals of Titan (where Thanos hails from), the origins of Mutants on Earth, and the history of the enigmatic space gods called Celestials. They're all quick, easy reads. I'm sure you can find them collected in trade paperback if you don't want to hunt around for the individual comics.

The Eternals are a fundamental part of Marvel history as their origins and creation are the reason for Mutants to exist. Both the Eternals and DC’s New Gods were created by Jack Kirby and are almost the same in nature but both different. They are a race of super powerful beings each with their own unique abilities that were created by a race of godlike beings known as the Celestials (who have their own cosmic origins in Eternity Wars)
The Celestials went planet to planet performing experiments and when they reached Earth they took ancient man and experimented on them creating 3 subspecies in the process: The Eternals, a race of super powerful beings which were meant to defend Earth (think of them as the prototype and blueprint for all Mutants in Marvel); The Deviants who were monsters and inherently evil by nature; Humans with a modified genetic cast and implanted a special genetic code in ancient humans which through evolution and generations, random humans will develop powers and mutations in their bodies creating Mutants. This is known as the X Gene which what Mutants have like Scarlett Witch, Quicksilver, Wolverine, Storm, Gambit, Professor X, Magneto, etc (which is what the MCU is foreshadowing with this movie)
The Deviants are the Eternals rivals and they warred against one another. Some Eternals left for Saturn’s moon of Titan to start anew while the others stayed on Earth and interacted with humans throughout the centuries for a while. Thanos is also an Eternal but with a Deviant gene which is why he looks physically different from his fellow Eternals (Thanos’ own mother tried to kill him when she saw him after giving birth)
The MCU made the cast diverse so that the Eternals can represent all of humanity
Gemma Chan as Sersi: Has an affinity for mankind and is the love interest to Kit Harrington’s character Black Knight (who is a massive character going forward) Abilities: Telepath, Telekinesis, Matter Manipulation
Richard Madden as Ikaris: The charismatic leader of the Eternals. (Abilities: Flight, Superhuman strength and Optic Blasts)
Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo: In the comics was a skilled swordsman and was Japanese by look and nature but the MCU adaptation of the character is Indian and is turned into a Bollywood star. (Abilities: Swordsman, Super strength and stamina)
Lauren Ridloff as Makkari: (MCU adaptation of Makkari is gender swapped from Male to Female and is also a deaf actress) Makkari is the speedster of the Eternals and is the second speedster to exist after The Runner (An Elder of the Universe) and can travel up to Mach 3 which is 3x the speed of light and sound
Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos: The genius engineer and inventor of the Eternals. He is a Master Engineer and has helped humanity progress in technology from the shadows.
Salma Hayek as Ajak: (Also gender swapped from male to female for MCU adaptation) Ajak is the wisest and spiritual member of the Eternals. Ajak is also a healer and is the only member of the Eternals that can communicate with the Celestials.
Lia McGugh as Sprite: (Also gender swapped) Sprite is an Eternal who is stuck in the body of a 12 year old from the Celestials experimentation. Sprite is very clever and a trickster. (Abilities: Illusion Manipulation, Flight, Telekinesis, Matter Transmutation)
Don Lee as Gilgamesh: The strongest member of the Eternals who was exiled to Earth with Thena. Gilgamesh has appeared throughout human history as many different heroes such as Hercules and even as the King of an ancient kingdom in Summeria. Eventually he was lost to history and adopted the name of The Forgotten One (Abilities: Master Combatant, Durability and super strength)
Angelina Jolie as Thena: Exiled to Earth alongside Gilgamesh, Thena is the skilled warrior and scholar amongst the Eternals. Also Thanos’ first cousin. (Abilities: Weapon Manifestation, Master Combatant, Sword Mastery)
Barry Keoghan as Druig: Cousin to Ikaris, he opposes how the Eternals have interacted with humanity throughout the centuries. Has a very Loki like personality and even has the power of Mind Manipulation, Teleportation, Flight, Matter Transmutation, Illusions)
Kit Harrington as Dane Whitman/The Black Knight:
Love interest to Gemma Chan’s character Sersi, he wields the Ebony Blade which holds a curse to whoever wields it. The Black Knight is a mantle that is passed down through centuries from within the family going back as far as the 6th century to his ancestor who was one of the Knights of the Round Table from the legends of King Arthur. (Abilities: Swordsmanship, strategist, Skilled Martial artist, Skilled Tactician and Magic Immunity while wielding the Ebony Blade)
