Women Aren't Funny doc possibly one of the most slept on movies of the past ten years. If it was shot in slightly higher quality and had come out a few years later, it would have blown up. The end legit moved me, can't lie.
Eh, I wanted to like it and actually paid to watch it, but it was very mediocre. There are people like Fredrik Knudsen making much better documentary videos on RUclips without a fraction of the resources that Bonnie had.
@@inevitableveganfuture3915 Agree to disagree. I think it's crazy underrated. I'm not evaluating it based on the resources behind it, I just think it's a poignant flick with some hilarious and moving moments. I like its low-fi, personal quality, but I do suspect that turned some people off. BF is generally pretty slept on.
@@Mousewhispers Sure, I get where you're coming from and mostly agree, but my point is that based on the opportunities surrounding its production (e.g. access to people like Joan Rivers while she was still alive and Sarah Silverman while she was still a comedian), it was still only "pretty good".
There are total nobodies making pretty good documentaries on their laptops with zero budget, and I'd expect more than just pretty good from veteran comics with investors and some amazing resources and contacts. I don't ever see it being regarded as a good documentary alongside King of Kong or Grizzly Man, but if it ends up on Netflix then maybe I can realistically see people mention it in the same breath as the Aristocrats movie.

Couldn't pay me to watch that drivel again, any of the actual somewhat funny female comedians that are shown barely have any screen time and pretty much ends with Rich having to pathetically comfort her when she bombs.

Bonnie's jokes for once actually seemed good naturedly but Jo really did not take it well. He like went into this weird mode saying stuff that wasn't funny and just awkward.

There is a good reason why a good chunk of America does not vote. Because there are only two choices that have a chance to win and both sides will fix some things and screw up many more things. People that say "well if you don't vote, you can't complain" are ones that think if you had voted, you would have voted for their candidate.

@@crunch9876 "Wow really" Yes I love stand up comedy, I've never heard of either of these two, If I'd seen them on a video I'd have switched it off within minutes and forgotten about them quite quickly. Jim Norton is why I'm watching the video, Sam is a nobody who got the gig as his sidekick, he's competent, this show is background noise while I work though, it's rarely stand-out!

bonnie mcfarlane did that terrible documentary to prove that women are funny and in the end proved herself wrong, its hilarious but not for the reasons it was supposed to be

Jo Koy’s stand up is eons ahead of Bonnie’, and I’m not even a huge fan of his but it’s decent. However, Bonnie definitely seems like the funnier person in day to day life and regular conversation. Koy doesn’t seem too good at coming up with stuff off the top of his head, not to say Bonnie is amazing at that but definitely better than Jo. I don’t know, just my two cents.
