A 66 year old golfer that has played for 50 years. Loved our game for long time. I liked and admired Peter and Gary's work from the start which was a long time ago. Love the stories, tips, and humor that you men have in your old bones. Thanks for sharing . Keep it up!
@@kostismccord No, no! Thanks to you both for your contribution to the integrity of golf over the years. Never. Not once did I get the feeling you were saying something you didn't believe. Cases in point. Peter on the creative rules interpretations of Patrick Reed. And Gary on what car windshields and Augusta greens have in common.
I miss these two on the broadcast. I’m 49, started golfing in 1999, and these two, with Nance, Venturi, were the voices I listened to for 6 hours a weekend.
probably has a fairly narrowly defined audience - but among that audience it is an absolute delight. Honestly it is better in a way than when they were broadcasting tournaments. They are free of the constraints of Network TV so they really talk about what they think about the subject.
both of Gary's picks are 5 under on the back nine Saturday. Great "out-on-the-limb pick! i stopped watching golf 4 years ago except for the masters. The announcing is horrific! Nobilo must be paying CBS to cover the tournaments. As a 54 year old former every week watcher of golf I am missing the old CBS coverage. Thank you, both for many many years of entertainment. Love this youtube channel. Keep the stories coming!
Coincidentally, in my winter lessons my pro had me working on lifting my trailing foot. Not to Scheffler's extreme - more like Greg Norman. This was a very enlightening and timely episode for me. Thanks guys!
Thanks for taking us back in time with another one of your entertaining stories Peter. Gary, I’ll never forget the opportunity I had to watch you on the range at TPC at River’s Bend in Ohio. You and Tom kite were side-by-side hitting balls. I watched for 20 minutes in total amazement as to the level of control and smoothness you guys had in your swing. Something a hacker, like myself finds nearly unattainable.
I've been avoiding TV golf, mainly because of NBC's atrocious coverage, but then I stumbled upon Smylie and his sit-downs with the players... Reminds me of the good-ol-days with K&Mc. I wonder what Peter and Gary think of Mr. Kaufman's TV skills?
This was an awesome podcast! I've always been a big fan when you were on CBS. I like the crew on CBS now but I really miss you guys. I'm glad you are doing this.
This movement increases the chances of folks getting their weight to the lead side better. I firmly believe, me 100%, that most ams do NOT get enough weight transitioned to the lead side. The swing doesn't have to look pretty to work pretty :)
Gary McCord was the best golf analyst on TV. Funny, smart, entertaining and explained the game to newcomers. Today's analysts are boring beyond belief.
Fun segment on the Masters. Heard it before but never gets old. Regarding Scottie’s swing I don’t believe the focus should be on the right foot but instead the left. The right foot is responding to things in the swing not causing them. Most is was trying to highlight that but McCord took that a different direction.

Hey Gary! Theres an oldschool video of you doing a swing clinic called Gary Mccord on MORAD (wearing the purple sweater). Can you do a segment on Mac Ogrady and maybe go into talking about that clinic. Do you still swing and adhere to the principles from That video? If not, what swing principles would you change from that video? You were striping it Cheers
We shall see, think the pga gang will show you that the 10th-30th players on the tour are closer than you think. 72 holes of pressure week in and week out tends to hold up. Masters week must be a painful one for Mr. Norman to think about.
@@fittrad3r687 The "freshly" poached LIV ers were good for sure, will see how it turns out this year. Scotty against the field...serious? Who did he play against...and he still only won twice this year !! And how strong was the fields in the other 6 tournaments that he didn't win...?
@@kostismccord Love to listen to the 2 of you. I'm just not that sold on Scotty as the rest of the golf world. Anyway...would love to hear more about the older international players like Gary Player etc...
Uh, I promise you that every single tournament Scotty has played in this year had a stronger field than the Masters will this coming weekend. The Masters has one of the weakest fields if not the outright weakest of any tournament all year. Always has year after year.
Not sure I understand the characterization of LIV as the “dark side” - I wouldn’t be so protective of PGA Tour! If they were so mutually embracing of you, they wouldn’t have allowed CBS to cut you loose.
You continue to justify your excellence in golf journalism. Just listening to the CBS announcers discuss Scheffler’s footwork, after listening to you two, was enough to have me turn the volume off.
This Scheffler overhype is beyond ridiculous now, yes he is a great ball striker like many players but the guy is a terrible putter and his best win this year was scraping a 1 shot win over Brian Harman and Wyndham 'horseshoe' Clark (who nobody gave an f about 1 year ago) in the weakest Players field there's been for decades. The fact is if Scheffler played on LIV he would have 0 wins right now this year because the competition is so fierce to win an event. Niemann and Rahm have played better this year, the eyes don't lie. Scheffler hasn't won a major for 2 years and recently got absolutely obliterated at the Ryder Cup to the point where he was crying in his golf cart....and that's your #1 player in golf right now? Nah. Common sense dictates he clearly isn't.
I was really enjoying the video until Peter's story about what he said about Norman. Now I am not a Norman fan at all. But when Peter started using profanity that stopped me from subscribing. Peter and Gary are grown men and to resort to fowl gutter language is not needed in golf. I know it's there but I don't have to listen to it. I will not subscribe unless they can bleep out that type of language. What a shame I was enjoying the video up until then.
