love your videos Allison, your joy flows through you and onto the paper and in turn we are inspired by it! and no one cares about the ums!! they are part of your charm! 😊😊
Hi Allison, you asked what we were thinking as you painted. I can tell you I was totally wrapped up in your creative process. I felt like I was in your art cupboard with you, painting along, loved the peek into your life, your family, your loves.Oops overboard as something else hit the deck, heart warming and engaging because its all the real you, don't ever change your style of presentation, the world is full of fake and polished. You have an amazing ability to connect and you are so generous with your teaching. Thankyou
Think it's very sad when people criticize others on utube etc. Lots of tutorials, tutors paint over older paintings with all sorts of mixed media these days, it's the modern thing to do with art. Also lots of people say um as well! I would say to the rudies to try and go through the process and not say um or erm or any other pausing sort of words! Glad I got that off my chest. I and your other followers ❤ U🤗😘
I always love your videos! Full of joy and inspiration. When I’m feeling “blah” and have zero motivation to paint, watching your videos always cheers me up. Thank you for being you and sharing your gift of creativity with us ❤️
I’m so grateful to be here too with you it’s so wonderful I have hundreds and hundreds of pieces like how you pull them out. I have those too. I’m so excited about looking at them and claiming them again as pieces that are like a work in progress. It’s like we’re rescuing pieces of art and bringing them into the light. It’s fascinating. And it’s exciting. I’m so glad I found you and I can relate to all the things you say. So helpful. I’m encouraged and I just want to let you know that. God bless you and thank God we are not perfect. How could we learn anything?????… if we were so perfect. How could we live a loving, rich full life if we were all perfect?❤❤❤❤ I want to learn how to do videos here on RUclips. That’s my next project so that I can keep others encouraged as you do.❤️🤗 Keep going you’re doing great. I love your work too.
I just subscribed for when you start posting videos! That’s one of my goals, as well… in my acrylic works, I like combining texture paste, collaged junk papers for 3-D petals, etc, and found objects… I haven’t seen anyone showing how to do that process on here
I think it is not only incredibly brave to share of yourself on RUclips but also extremely generous! I have really appreciated watching your process and hearing what you have to say as you create and have benefitted greatly. It was great to see how you started and continued on with the paintings today. I am gaining a much better understanding of how to get the layers and the texture. Very helpful! It is always amazing to see how things come together. Thank you!
Hi Allison! Your videos are so challenging to me but I make myself watch them so I can get out of my comfort zone and grow. I love how you paint focusing only on the color you're craving, the markings you want to make, or the paper you want to collage... You don't create with an end or result in mind... That's the challenge for me. At certain points in your process, for me it looks like you're undoing what you painted before, sometimes it looks worse and then all of sudden it looks marvelous. Like when you applied the greens on your painting, for me it was done, then you came back with the white again. Anyway, I just want to say I love to watch your process and I'm challenging myself to just do what I'm "craving" and what I like and not worry about the outcome but enjoy the process. Last night I made a collage and I really want to apply white gesso and paint all over it, but I'm afraid of messing it up and covering up all the pretty papers. But I guess I just need to do it. I'm learning that to overcome fear and the unknown I just have to face it and do it! Thank you for sharing with us. ❤
thanks for sharing your insights with me and for watching my videos. You may not feel ready to cover up your collage and that’s okay. Take some time with it and maybe it is done? what is important is that you like it and the process was enjoyable. you may decide to leave it as is or go back to it years later… and either choice is great and personal to you.
I've always been drawn towards mixed media so the idea of painting beautiful vibrant or dusky watercolours depending on what mood takes me, and then painting or mark making over in crayon, pencil, ink or acrylic really appeals to me and allows me to use my more comfortable skill of line to create something unique to me. I think this is why I love the work that you do. It is unique to you.
Thank you for this video. It helped me to see how you get the peeks of color. I love your teaching style because you are so human and this makes you very relatable. Yay for Allison.
Glad to see you again Allison and your work is looking fabulous. Sciatica is a nightmare, hope it's not bothering you too much that you can't work. Take care 😊
It certainly has been on my radar 24 hours a day for years… but last week I had some relief and it felt amazing to have some pain free days.! Have you also had sciatica? thanks for your encouragement, as always .
@@allisondawrant I've got osteoarthritis and sciatica. I do all kinds of physio which helps to prevent the problems associated with it. It's tough going but i try not to let it stop me doing the things i like doing. I hope it does not give you too much trouble too, i know how you are feeling. Just keep going 😊
Hi Allison thanks for sharing your tips with us ❤️I really love your work. Turn off and let go that's what I've been trying to do. You are very inspiring ❤️
I like that you don't edit out anything in your videos. It's like being there with you. The way your train of thought derails makes me smile (because I can relate). You may have eliminated "um" but have you replaced it with "you know" ? That was something I had to stop doing when I lectured. I'm finding your work approach and creative philosophy fascinating. Thanks for sharing. 👍🙂
@allisondawrant well based on the ones I've watched so far, um, let's put it this way, if your viewers took a shot every time you said it, they'd be drunk before the end of the video. 😁 I'm not sure if RUclips has served me recently released videos yet. I'd expect you to be saying, "aye" after every respectable Canadian. 🙂

So very keen to know what art makers we can support who have earth friendly paints and materials, think it could also make your xhannel really stand out and spread great info us artists need to get on board with, ultimatelt demanding it from the big brands. So thank U for everything!!!❤
Thank you so much Allison. It was so nice and filled with information to watch you work for a longer time on the last sheet - really made me understand the process better. Wish you a nice day

Hi Allison - I’m not sure I found your first video but we all say “um” many times through the day. I can’t believe people were that critical. “Ok, yes I can”. I love seeing you be you! You are real. Loved that your husband came home and said “Hi Honey.” Sounds like my house. Keep doing what you are doing. I must admit that I need to rid myself of control and get out of my own head when practicing. You are a breath of fresh air in my life.😊
I really enjoyed and loved watching your process Allison ! I am still working on giving myself permission to paint over a painting that I don’t really care too much about Watching you seems like so much fun … So you have achieved your goal in teaching and encouraging me to try and play and have more fun :) Thank you for inspiring me . I’ll paint tomorrow and remind myself to be gentle with myself ❤❤❤
Thankyou so much for saying this Linda. You inspire me back always. Love the recent works you’ve been putting out into the world. Keep sharing your joy and gorgeous paintings.❤️

The rudeness of people today know no bounds. I'm new to your channel and I love you and your style and transparency about how you do things....you simply do you. I'm super brand new to wc so can barely do leaves or a flower petal but I sat myself down and tried this. I would love for you to see what I did, just for a little guidance, input. No one I know is interested in art, crochet or sewing....sigh. Thanks much for sharing this. I will be checking out more of your work.
Hi Allison. I have looked everywhere in your vids (over and hour) for the one you did using 4 of the Art Nouveau colors and one from the Kuratake 48 colors. You were using an oblong ceramic paint palette that held five of the pans and little round wells. I had to have that and ordered it last night LOL. You also told us the color numbers you used. I thought I had saved that vid. I want to write the color #'s down but can't find it anywhere. Also It was the one that said 'There are Brighter Days Ahead'....I think. Thank you,
