I just got the new 3/8" Shallow universal impact sockets earlier this week from my Matco dealer, very impressed so far with the quality they will be a good investment.
That scan/code reader looks similar to my old trusty dusty Launch CRP123 Premium. I have saved my family a boat load of money in basic diag with that tool. The price point and the features make this thing really attractive. Great video!
I have the original run of those impact sockets. Back when they debuted in like the 2010's. They do wear out, and another annoyance of them is they collect debris in the well. Which makes them bind up and grind. They were 100% repairable, tho my dealer always just swapped them out for me. He taught me how to disassemble them, so I could clean them, and I got into the habit of packing them with axle grease. Makes a world of difference.
Would you please tell me how to disassemble them, if you don't mind? How do I get that snap ring out? Please give me the rundown!! Lol. Thank you in advance and i appreciate your time and help.
Those sockets look alot like the ones they had in the early 1990's. If I still had to pull transmissions everyday like back then I would find a dealer on Monday and grab a set of those. Tapered end is so nice and no big collar to get hung up on stuff. Only improvements would be to stamp the size large on the body instead of the paint and bring back the socket trays. Loved those trays they had back then.
That scan tool looks really really nice. I’ve used repair solutions 2, and it’s a pretty good service. That scan would be perfect to pack away for a a road trip just in case your check engine light comes on. It doesn’t require batteries because it’s powered by the OBD port so it won’t be dying when you need it most. I honestly think matco a home run with this one. The only other thing I would suggest is if you have some kind of case that could protect it as an add-on option.
Back in 2016 I bought the national md75 I think is the model. I paid 450 for it no subscriptions and it does a lot. Air bag transmission battery and alternator test live data freeze Frame etc. It's been a great scan tool
So, even though the newer matco pinless aren't marked USA, they are still made in the USA? I'm just a little confused. The older pinless swivels said USA on them, but the newer ones don't. So, are the pinless swivels still USA made despite the fact that they aren't marked USA? I also didn't see any USA markings on the new torque force swivels either, but they are made in the US by AJ? Why don't they say USA on them? If you're unsure, could you get Michael to clarify in the next video? Thanks in advance Clay!
I have a 2004 triple bank black box with anodized blue handles I like how deep the box is and it still looks new I have owned it since it was new. I actually had my dad purchase it for me while I was in the military before I retired as I was not in the United States at the time I hear the quality of the new boxes is not as nice as the old boxes….. I like the blue on the universal sockets it makes them easy to read. I wish the ones that I have or like that, but they did not have them back then.Great video Clay 🇺🇸👊🏼👊🏼✌🏼
Might have to pick up that scanner if it can do the EPB release definitely a must buy was looking at something affordable now between this and those nifty icon scanners now
I enjoy the Matco vids a little better than the Snappy vids. Mr and Mrs do a great job on new items, etc. Cant forget the great job Joe does as well. The snappy vids are a little boring, and i dont mean to pick on anyone. Thanks again Clay, and Mr and Mrs!!
Nice price/performance on that scanner, BUT.....there are competitors that offer the same performance, capabilities, at a slightly lower cost, and free "lifetime" updates.
It's always the o2 sensor. But that's also the last / newest fault. What caused it ? That's exactly what Michael is trying to explain that the parts store doesn't know and didn't tell the person who bought the part they threw at them.
As an appraiser that scanner is what I’ve been looking for. Unfortunately can’t trust customers or technicians these days. Not all are bad but 1 bad apple can make you question the rest.

That scan tool looks awfully similar to the Innova SDS43 which also runs on repairsolutions 2. That being said, the matco is actually the cheaper option this time.
Tried getting a 1/4 hyperstep drill bit warrantied online and Matco says 5/16 and up are covered under warranty.I know it is 1/4 and up.No dealer in my area

GJ Matco bringing back US made impact sockets...for the price they charge...USA all the way baby!!
Can’t wait to see what the torque test channel has to say about those swivels.
Those and the tekton ones too.
“We’re gonna test that” lol
I’m always amazed how some people will buy tools they already have or don’t need because some new color happens to come out!

I like both tools. I love Matco tools. I know they are mostly rebranded.

No joke I bought that purple plier set from my dealer today.
Good discussion on scan tools where is was the boss this week
Need to call up my matco dealer and have him order me those swivel sockets.

Looking forward to hear if it will do brake maintenance mode🤔
Got my dealer on it on that scanner as i type
That’s a good deal on that.

I was wondering when I’d see a video on the new USA made sockets! Might have to save up for em 😅
So when we wear out the older style pinless does that mean we will be getting the newest style as replacements?
Who knows probably depends on your dealer

Man that sucks. They know you will break the small ones and not the larger ones too.
@KoonTrucking My dad broke it drilling out broken off bolt
Are pinless still made in USA?
The set I have is with the yellow marking
Can I do electronic? Parking parking break.
He’s supposed to find out. I’d be happy to see that
@@KoonTrucking thank you have a great Thanksgiving
Didn't Matt co make a scanner that you you paid $25 a month for whatever kind of car you were working on. You could pass that on to the customer
What’s the part number on the hat on the purple one?
I showed all those hats in the Matco Christmas flyer and showed the part numbers
@ thank you have a great Thanksgiving
What's wrong with Napa. Also Tools not football
Football is life here in SEC country
I'm in Georgia @@KoonTrucking
Guys this is a tool truck page keep the NFL off this
Not NFL it’s college ball. Plus it’s RUclips, not a paid TV show. You don’t pay to watch it
SEC.
And you’re named after an nfl wide receiver 😂😂😂
You might be hard pressed to find a couple southern boys talking and the SEC not come up.
I totally agree!
hello why so much football talk and no tool talk
