The rakes were a brilliant band and the song Strasbourg the censored version of that song was on fifa 06 and a censored version of the song retreat was in fifa manger 06 btw great song band and album
I've got the same shirt on for two days in a row With a soya sauce stain so everyone knows Can shower and scrub Still smell like the smoking bit in a Weatherspoons pub
I heard this song in the pub, thought, I know and like this song and thought it needs to be downloaded. quickly I recognised the voice and knew it was The Rakes. I already own their first album so I searched everything that wasn't their first album until a few months later when I was listening to the first album in full and then me the idiot realised that it was on the first album all along. Good song tho
Don't confuse this with Secret Machines, there is one riff that is very similar at the beginning after that it is very clearly a different song and a very fun one at that....
Because they weren't that good. But I don't care. These bands set the curriculum for my music education when I was 14 and had nothing but FIFA06 and a copy of Limewire to direct what I was into. And what I like is how I can appreciate they weren't that great. But now, at 19, I like the nods to going out, not knowing what to do, and running out of clothes. It's weirdly endearing. And even if it isn't, it's a good last song before heading to the pub. Which I'm doing now. Pint of coopers, mate.
When you're 33 and this song has basically been on repeat in the back of your head for 12 years.
mickeyhynes mate you and I share the spirit! Grow up with kids but this youth music spirit remains in me!

Remember being 16 and watching them filming this outside Croydon College from the window, we had entertainment all day in our art class. So old 🧓🏼

Outstanding, i like it when they say "it's all these words, idea's and different arguments". awsome.

If you're not in a good mood after listening to this song, you're either sedated or dead.

Don't confuse this with Secret Machines, there is one riff that is very similar at the beginning after that it is very clearly a different song and a very fun one at that....
Try listening to Nowhere Again by Secret Machines, same song done a few years ago
it's slendid
That's shit! I didn't know that. Sad news indeed. Brilliant band.
The Rakes are great. Pity they split up.
oh, s'ry.
I was sayin that the group have a sonority that make me think at Dirty Pretty Things and The Strokes.
wow, that song really "talks to me" if you see what i mean... i would like to put my arms around the srcrean. lol!
Are their albums still available? I hope so.
Soy peruano ye°!
@nalivaykodima
Because they weren't that good.

How are u doing now pal?
🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
its a shame they split up in 2009 :(
( peccato)
Non mi aspettavo di trovare italiani qui.
@@AntonioSedicina e invece....
OI LOIKE BRIT POP
I wouldnt say that they are both very great songs but they arent similar at all
They split....sad new......
@nalivaykodima
Except the Machines did it better.
