  • Ben Furimsky's Feeding Caddis is a basic, yet guide style fly pattern that works great where you find caddis larva which is basically everywhere! Tied with a tungsten bead, it gets down where the fish are at, eating caddis larva. You can alter the color to match your caddis but start here with this color and you might be quite satisfied.
    Hook: Daiichi 1560, Size 16
    Bead: 2.4MM Black Tungsten
    Thread: Veevus GSP 30D, Black
    Front: Black Hen Hackle
    Body: Natural Pheasant Tail Fibers
    Rib: Small Copper Wire
    Collar: Caddis Green Dubbing

Love tying up a bunch of smaller midges and nymphs like this one. Fun to do and a guy feels productive.

Yes. Not too much involved and basic, working patterns that catch fish. Now get back to tying!
