I used to have a large minus prescription until cataract surgery. I hated my glasses. I eventually could not see well out of them. They distorted my eyes and, hence, my appearance. Even the lighter ones at the time were heavy on my nose. Also, anyone with a high minus prescription is in danger of their retina ripping away, causing retinal damage that may not be able to be repaired. I cannot prove, but I believe non gas permeable contacts were the cause of my deteriorating eyesight. I ruined my eyesight for vanity, which is ironic because I ended up with thick, ugly glasses I had to wear for years. I now can wear thin lenses. Although my reading glasses are a bit thicker, my distance lenses are thin. I also know from viewing other people, that if a plus lens is high enough, it can give the person a bug-like appearance. That is extremely unusual, but it happens.
I had +10 when I was 5 or so. Native Americans tend to be farsighted, so we don't get much attention for it (that's history for you.) Down to around +5 or so at 37. From what my opthalmologist said, it's now almost exclusively an indigenous American (North and South) trait due to screen time.
@@blackcitroenlove How does a screen make you farsighted? I thought it makes you nearsighted OOHHHHH like since you’re not indigenous anymore and you have a screen, you became less farsighted.
I can't see with these new thin glasses. I'm 60 years old and can see better with my High school glasses than these modern thin glasses. Unless I walk around with my nose up in the air. The optometry business better start to get their act together. I'm not alone with this. I hear this with all old people.
@@jennifervazquez6275 Zenni Optical, and not too much, around 4 mm thickness... But I will maybe have a surgery this year or next year but... It's expensive 6800$ CAD

Or just do endmyopia
Wow! +10 is a hot prescription!
Interesting comparison. +10 is a very strong hyperopia prescription while -10 is a high but not uncommon myopia correction. Thanks for the video!

@@ssctamil6283 yess same here do you use contact or glasses?
Are you serious ? Please please i wanna see your glasses
No one has a minus 50. After 20 you're just legally blind. Minus 50 would be like a 2-3 inch thick lens with hi-index
