A documentary (I'm afraid in two parts) about how the Flying Dutchman was built etc for the final Pirates film. There's also a little about the legend of the Flying Dutchman.

While I love the pitc version of the Dutchman,
I wish we would see more of the orginal Legend in movies. The ship in the fog with blood red sail, floating over the water, charging with full sail

Watch the pictures of the original Dutch wooden replica of the VOC ship the BATAVIA, build in the 1980,s.
Build from the original drawings and measurements from the 1600,s.
Thats the ship where Disney took there inspiration from.
The real Flying Dutchman is still sailing around the seas and will show only up by very stormy weather with Captain Willem van der Decken aboard.
