  • Back Tempo, layered practicing with blocking where needed. Parcel and balance voices; practice with a singing tone, listen attentively, and phrase with contour and dynamic variation. Use supple wrists and relaxed arms.

Thank you! So helpful the way you dissect the piece and bring out each voice separately. Thank you for sharing your valuable insights and experience

This song is beautiful! Although I'm a beginner, I truly enjoy these tutorials. Maybe I can come back in a few years so I can learn these.

Thank you Shirley! I am currently working on this piece. In the last beat of measure13 and first of 14, , would you play the right hand melody with the top or bottom left hand note? I have to roll the left hand. Neither sounds right to me but I am not up to full tempo as yet.

so the LH through those measures is expanding intervals -octave, octave, ninth and tenth. I play all in the LH...the one that I gently roll is the bass tenth (LH)--measure 14. I can easily reach the others. So I make no changes in the score as written. RH and LH remain as indicated. I have Schirmer edition--Sternberg editor.. So I am referencing this layout etc.
