Since it is a CPE device with an outdoor antennae (which is better as far as I know) it would be more stable for home internet. Low pings and jitters makes internet actually faster, speeds are just secondary thing when we are talking about near or above 50-100 mbps speeds.

This video is the best comparison I’ve seen for a product with all queries that was solved and im so happy .
It is not unlimited plans. They have a FUP cap of 1000GB per month, which no one is aware, where if you use 1000GB in a month they will reduce your speed to 64kbps. No one will tell you this untill you read the terms and conditions on their website.

But 5g is not available in every region. For example, 5g is not available at my work place which is like 30 kms from Kolkata. In that case, how will be the performance of this device ?

I think for rural areas, affordability is what makes it accessible for the lower middle class living in villages.
A 40Mbps plan with 1000GB cap is more than enough for them for 399.
Anyways, In rural areas BSNL provide 30 Mbps for 470 with 1000GB cap.

No bsnl dont. No towers of air fiber 15km away. But get jio 5g on roof 3500mhz 105rsrp 400mbps (2.2km). Also have bsnl tower no 4g no airfiber device.

JIO Airfiber should come with a new plan of 399 just like their Fiber Plan. As in AirFiber they are capping it at 1TB
It's launched for those areas where local cable operators are cutting Jio fibre wires. STOP PURCHASING CABLE PLANS. SWITCH TO JIO
Local operators used to do that. Bad business. They should step up their game by providing better price and speed

In most cities in India, you get affordable fiber broadband (Jio fiber, Airtel xstream, BSNL, etc.). The main problem is in smaller towns and rural areas. Hope that this will be a game changer in those places.

I was worried about ping latency. Glad you covered it. Everybody is mad about 5g and speeds but ping latency is where fiber net beats 5g.
Im in hyderbad, testing under daily practical scenario usage at home. I'm getting 70 to 90 ms ping on 5g network where 4g is 40ms. I'm not sure how it is for airfiber(glad you covered it) , though due to technology advantage of 5g which has network slice feature used for airfiber where network resources are dedicatedly independent of mobile 5g resource due to this Ping can be lower from our mobile 5g. For work home less ping is important to have realtime connectivity. You video helped me to decide. I choosed Fibernet. Thanks a lot

Iam using jio airfibre from last 10 months, I am getting good speed but sometimes speed reduces. Speed depends on distance of the jio 5g tower from your location where jio router installed. One problem is there is no option of upgrading plan from 100 Mbps to 300 Mbps speed.
Those ping values are too atrocious. No ISP is concentrating on these but it is very much important while playing online games.
How did you install the Jio Air Fiber. Also do a comparison video between Airtel XStream Air Fiber vs Jio Air Fiber.

This air fiber is only for where no fiber or lease line can reach..but is it stable like fiber line ...bcos its connected on tower and with signal only..so it is trustable like fiber line ?
they are using a different network slice on the same 5g infra. google it for more info. so no fear of network congestion.

Wow , how did you get this even before launch !! Awesome. Wish you could shed some light on the plans too. We currently have BSNL fiber optic but the connection is very inconsistent and unstable , Once JIo Air Fiber is launched, we will give up BSNL fiber and simply keep the land line number.

Airfiber would be great in that situation as it is dependent only on 5g signals in your area. Where as the cable fiber can have issues in connectivity in such cases.

No Wired Fibre connection reaches to my house in Jharkhand beside BSNL. So Jio AirFiber will be a boon when it launches. But if it’d be just a plug and play it’d be much better….Why add a separate antenna when 5G connection already reaches?
5g mm wave doesn't reach inside house so it's make sense to use wired from antena for fast speed
Does Airfiber's Outdoor Unit has slots for neighbours to connect like other wired fiber ISPs? If yes how many neighbours can connect? Or individuals will have individual Outdoor Units? Kindly Answer.
Well I haven’t opened the outdoor unit, but there is only one CAT 6 cable out of it. So my answer will be no.
May be Total 7 connections can be done with one ODU unit.

@@prudhviraj8061 I disconnected my BSNL Bharat Fiber connection, I shifted to another local fiber, it's kind of expensive but the uptime rate for 1 month is 98.9%.
And the speeds are awesome with no fluctuations.
Is there will be any 30 mbps plan ??? If not then I don't see this as a ground breaking thing for remote areas. People in these kind of area can't afford 100mbps plan + installation charges.

Be positive. Jio will give 100mbps speed plan on 30mbps rates. 30mbps era is going to change. That was 4g era now it is 5g era. Hope u r understanding my point

I thought it's more like dongle with much much better speed. The airfiber device wouldn't work if you want to use it while travelling because of that installation. Is that correct?

I have Airtel broadband and so many complaints as there is so much disconnection. Now I am considering changing to another isp . So I was thinking if I am changing should i opt for another fiber cable isp or this ?

How does the external unit get powered? Afaik, it's not just the antenna, but a 5G modem as well.
Does it need to be connected separately, or PoE or something different?

Great question, I haven't shown that in the video. CAT 6 cable is coming to a power brick and through the power brick there is another LAN cable & power to the router. I see that the same power brick will be supporting power needed through LAN for the external until modem.
@@TechTakeaway okay, so the outdoor unit is powered via PoE than. Good to know that we don't need to power or separately. I still wish they had integrated the modem in the indoor unit, and the outdoor unit was only an antenna.
Now we will have to protect it from the weather.

No chance. if need to connect wire I will go with Airtel airfiber just plug and play. Some times portability is more important than the speed. If we compare both airfiber airtel have upper hand
True at the time of installation I had to check twice why will the installation take that long if it is Air Fiber. Time was mostly spend on finding a good 5G spot and installation of the receiver
Then it's better to buy a dongle-like thing.
There must be some installation to Faster internet speed in remote areas.
Jio have 2 types of air fibers. One is with an antenna and the other without an antenna (like Airtel wala)
it is for villages where even indoor 5G speed is not good and you can install an outdoor unit to get a good signal. It is a very good design for rural areas. if you live in the city, you can go for wired fiber optic, which is much better than any wireless solution.

Bro they are also giving router with outdoor antenna (for stable internet connection)+ STB ..what else do you expect in this price range...if you compare with Airtel airfiber ...in that you don't get STB + Airtel airfiber is simply a hotspot device no outdoor unit so you will get fluctuations in speed and ping...jio airfiber will be really a gamechanger in high speed segment where broadband connection cannot reach and also for rural areas....
