This is going to help me tremendously, i just imported a Ralliart Version R with basically the same platform and engine/gearbox as a CZT and it has that exact issue.
Hi! Nice video. Im fixed with you guide. The only difference is that: im put a Stainless Steel Hex Socket Head Cap Screw inside the pin. Than i put on this a self locking hexagonal nut. Cuz the screw at my country costs 20Huf and the Mini cooper pin 5000huf. And its just works fine. 😊
I my case this part works well and the shifter knob centers without problems. My problem is with the little black plastic bushing that slides on and lifts the shaft, it's crooked and it gives me a hard time finding the Gears sometimes... What to do in this case? Does it worth having it custom machined, or better to just get the whole thing from scrap parts?
The pin that is replaced in the video? If so the eBay link is in the description. If you mean the bushes on the end of the shifter cables, I think someone on the CTOG facebook group found a peugeot bush that kind of fitted. If not you need to replace the whole shifter cable
I have the same problem on my Colt, however the gear stick sometimes gets stuck in neutral and will not go into any gear. This issue keeps happening but it works fine for 20 minutes or so and then it happens again. Would this fix help.
Thanks guys. Just finished doing this. Video was a great help and didnt damage the gear selector bushes thankfully.
very good infomation on this common problem, i done this repair about 2 years ago and it still feels like new
Thank you :) I know its old knowledge to most but I wanted to share my own walk through. It's made such a big difference to his car

Hello, what is the name of the small iron part you replaced?
The selector pin?
@@hoodedreeper Where can we find that iron?
Search "BMW mini gear selector pin"
@@hoodedreeper Thank you very much
You're very welcome
Did you replace the gear cable bushing? I can't find them for sale anywhere
We didn't at the time of filming. One had failed so we cable tied it for the time being. Unsure if Danny ever replaced it
Ok thanks, great video by the way

I'm unsure about this particular issue. You may be best to find another shifter assembly from a breakers yard
I'm looking for the bush but I can't find it

Does it help with a crunchy gearbox? Mine centres fine but the gears are crunchy and sometimes harder to get in gear!
I don't think it would help with that I'm afraid

I can't say for certain whether it'd cure the problem or not
Ich suche den Busha, um ihn zu kaufen, aber ich kann ihn nicht finden
Can you do a video when you fix the gear cable bush? I have mine with zip ties as well. When i drive aggressively it pops.
I haven't found a solution yet, as far as I'm aware you have to replace the shifter cables to fix it
@@hoodedreeper Ive heard bearings from like a skateboard or somtething works
i have a r52 mini same issue but trying to get the unit from the engine out is a pain how did you do it in the end
From memory once all of the bolts were removed we prised it out
Very nice video, thanks, m8.

Um, is the central console's carbon-fibre vertical/inlay (the lighter panel) stock in that car? Where to get it?
Danny vinyl wrapped it himself :)
