Pro tip: During the combat tutorial you can take any action without using RP. If you pick the axe as your weapon you can run around like a madman and chop all of the logs and clear everything but the stones and bamboo shoots. (While avoiding the simple monsters) Then later in the tutorial you can hoe and water these plots to get an early game head start on raking in the profits. Pros: +You start with a clean field, and a massive stock of plants to hoard for late early game potions. +You still need to buy only a few seeds to start, but expanding your crops so that you have enough early game energy to water everything is key, before your first harvest and early profit margins. Cons: -You gain 0 experience doing this during the tutorial. -You have to start with the axe, which isn't the best starting weapon. -finding lumber later in the game is harder if you do this, so leave a few patches open. -Because you won't find free basic seeds this way (because the random chance is connected to your skill level) you have to buy all your seeds to start off. (There is a day 1 hidden drops guide out there to help you buy 63 turnip seeds by day two, but again unless the spring rain RNG is with you, you need to plant just 27 of them, until your RP grows.)
