If you’re a wholesale or members-only store, or just have a collection that needs a little access control, you’ll need to make customer accounts required for checkout.
But, where does Shopify hide the setting.
First, log into your Shopify store and from your Shopify admin dashboard go to “settings”. Once there, you’ll need to find the “checkout” section. Select that, and we’ll see “customer contact method” and under that is “Require the customer to log in to their account before checkout”. Check the box, and don’t forget to save.
If you need even more control, an app like Customer Fields gives you the option to require account approval before customers can make a purchase, among other things (like custom fields).
