It's incredible to me that in our age of iPhones, drones, and RUclips, 1 in 3 people on Earth still lack access to basic sanitary toilets. LOTS of people, mainly children, die unnecessarily as a result. I think it's time we flush this problem once and for all, don't you? Something to think about next time you sit on your porcelain throne.

I remember learning in a sociology class I took in college that improved sanitation more than improved medicine was responsible for increased life expectancy. I think the toilet is probably the most underrated technological innovation of all time. Great video promoting it!

A lack of a sanitary toilet (or indoor plumbing) is simply another consequence of poverty, and dealing with it is little different from dealing with poverty itself. That's exactly what I said. I don't know how people could just use toilet paper, it's crazy. You're supposed to wash both your butt and your hands, I really cannot fathom just using paper, would you eat out of a plate that wasn't washed but was just wiped with paper? No, so why do they think using toiletpaper is enough to get the job done? Even when I'm out, and I use the bathroom first I fill a bottle of water before entering the stall and I make sure I have things on hand to clean myself.
