Honestly these are my favorite ones that he does. It always amazes me that convenient store food can be that good. Makes me wanna travel all throughout Asia just to hit up convenient stores and vending machines 😅
Just wanna say thank you Mikey. Found you last year when I was really sick & had zero appetite, and watching you encouraged me to eat something - ANYthing to get my strength back. Over a year later, I still watch you every dinner time & now try all kinds of amazing Asian foods 🖤🖤
I don't know why but I love these convenience store videos so much! That and your airline food reviews are always my favorites. For some reason regular restaurant videos are just not as exciting to me.
when i went to japan with my family for the first time, we had some of their spicy fried chicken that they keep hot, and the next morning they made me wait an hour outside of lawson so we could get the first batch in the morning, definitely could survive eating stuff only from lawson for the rest of my life if i needed to
As a native Ohioan I grew up on Lawson products. The company was first founded in Northeast Ohio. I was saddened to see them close down In the early 2000s. You can still buy their chip dip in some Circle K gas stations around Ohio and some other states nearby. Thanks for this video! I hope to visit Japan some day and see another Lawson's in person to try their food!
LOL Apparently Circle K is now trying to compete with Wisconsin's Kwik Trip. They just built one down the street and annoy the hell out of me with their flyers. So now I have so many places to get a quick pre-made food around me from Grocery Stores to Supermarket Gas Station, like Japan but without the Culture Issues that people don't understand about Japan. That's how a good town does it. But I live in the Entertainment Area of the Town so if you can get everything, the only question is WHAT IS YOU BUDGET TODAY?
When I visit Columbus I'm always stunned at the massive grocery stores people are spoiled with. My cousin studied abroad in Japan, and worked at the fish counter at the local Kroger. Because of the local Honda plant, he had Japanese housewives lined up and his hours posted in Japanese because he was the only fishmonger who spoke Japanese and wrote out the fish names in Japanese, and this was before the internet.
Very entertaining as usual. I might try some of the items some time as there are three Lawson stores near where I live. 19:42 That is _anmitsu_ a traditional Japanese dessert. And, no, I do not recommend using all the syrup as everything else is already sweet. The "jello" is agar jelly. That is why it could withstand all the mixing with the fork and why it has a different texture to gelatin based jelly. Also good with ice cream.
I can see it now, the guy at the counter at the other Lawson's seeing you walking in with bags from Lawson 100 and thinking "OOOOOK...?!" You're making me want to go back to Japan all the more now, man, because Japanese combini stores are a beautiful thing. I loved them all when I was there!
Like 7-11, Lawson started as an American company. The company started near Cleveland Ohio. They started a Japanese Division in the 1970's. When their U.S. division started having money problems in the eighties they sold off the Japanese division. Obviously the Japanese chain is still a going concern while the American parent company no longer exists.
I'm half Okinawan and growing up in Okinawa I miss Lawson and family mart so much. Everyday after school,I used to go to either Lawson or family just to get my daily convenient store munchies. Hopefully soon I can go back and never leave. Oh how I miss home. I love watching your videos
@Hunter Hey, so can u tell me why ur obsessed with posting negative comments on this page? I counted at least 5 replies and all give off jealous, troll vibes. I can’t believe that Mike didn’t eat the fried chicken from Lawson. It was so incredible, especially the spicy ones, that I bought a few pieces and ate it on the way to airport because it was my last chance to eat such delicious fried chicken.

Patiently awaiting for the day I returned to Japan and I will do something similar to this video, until then I watch Mikey's videos, thanks as always for the great video! :D
Love watching the Lawsons videos. I grew up in the city it was founded in before being everything being sold to Japan. All we have left is a chip dip recipe. Love that it’s thriving over there. Can’t wait to visit one day.
when I was in college I pretty much did all of my shopping and eating at Lawson 100 (a 100 yen Lawson) each week. they had common vegetables, various raw meats, eggs etc. so i could do real cooking and not just buy prepackaged food.
Of everything in this video, whilst it all looked amazing, I'd simply die for a soft, squishy egg sandwich with crunchy, spicy chips. texture and flavour heaven, I'm sure.
Now this is the type of video that's good vibes. Sorry but it's really hard to care about buffets when there's nothing unique about their products, but there's something homely about food even the average person can afford
I stayed in Kyoto for 10 days in a hotel apartment with full kitchen. Went to the grocery store and stocked up but also the convenience stores get fresh food everyday. The food in Japan the quality is unbelievable.
I also watch people who eat at Chinese convenient stores too and the variety is amazing too… makes me think visiting a bunch of Asian countries for their convenience stores is worth it 😂
all that food looked so good. im always amazed at how much better convenience store food is over in Japan versus here in the US... though, i literally gained 12lbs from watching this video! LMAO
Good news...... convenience stores are more common there than starbucks here. It is not uncommon for there to be 3+ in every block. Even in his video, lawsons is closed, but has a lawson just up the road.
those lawson marts are the best...one time i was so drunk in shinjuku and went into one of those lawson marts late at night and bought like 5-6 of those onigiris. It was damn good.
I’m always curious to know why Americans call it tuna salad or egg salad sandwich? There is no salad in the sandwich, only mayo. We, here in South Africa, just call it a tuna mayo sandwich!
Convenience store episodes are Mike's best work, the sheer variety and quality is so mind bending to us in the west.
Honestly these are my favorite ones that he does. It always amazes me that convenient store food can be that good. Makes me wanna travel all throughout Asia just to hit up convenient stores and vending machines 😅
These episodes definitely have opened up my eyes to many possibilities! Gotta try stopping into a Lawsons at some point.
The best thing we usually get in the US are Indomie noodles. I call them crack noodles because they're so addictive
SAME! I love these episodes and I am always so jealous watching him use chopsticks. I cannot do it.

Every time Mike gets one of those sandwiches from 7 Eleven or Lawsons I get jealous. They always look good and I wish I could get them in the US.
As someone who watched mikey for years and recently been to Japan, the sandwiches are just okay. Nothing really spectacular.
To make Tamago Sando at home, you only need eggs, kewpie mayo, salt, pepper and little sugar (and some nice toast bread).
@@xomegaxz5799So in other words, they’re uhMEHHHHzing
not sure about other states but here in WA I’ve found them at a few different asian/japanese groceries
Yeah, the sandwiches always grab my attention! There are some super interesting options available over there

Oh man I love Japanese food I live curiously through your videos Mike. I can imagine I’d love trying all the foods in Japan.
4am convenience store food run is a tradition I greatly appreciate. After a while the late night clerks just accept you as a regular lol
Traveling the world, eating delicious food, and seeing amazing sights. Next time you go to Japan, please take me with you!
I’ve never wanted an egg salad sandwich more in my life. 🤤
My mum lived on those when we took her to Japan. They are jolly goooood
Family mart has them too
This videos brings me joy despite not being able to taste any of these wonderful dishes
The way they packaged that Creme Brulee was genius.
I miss Japan so much. Last time I went I didn’t get a chance to try convenience store food, next time I will most definitely try. Thanks for sharing!

Lawson 100 was a life saver whilst living in Tokyo, tons of amazingly good priced food.
I went to Japan and I visited 10 combini in one day. I am now a Lawson loyalist
I live vicariously through this man. Everything he eats makes me want whatever it is cause it looks amazing and he definitely enjoys the food. Lol
Everything looks gross
Thanks!
As a UK fan. THANK YOU for saying "Worcestershire" (sauce) correctly xx

Hearing Mikey mention Bourdain makes me wish he could’ve taken Anthony on a convenience store tour. I’d watch the heck outta that!
Ramadan started so yk i had yo turn on stricly dumpling
note to self, microwave the chocolate melon bread!
Love this convenience store food tour, keep working❤
Those look so good. Sadly most of our "convenience stores" have mostly super salty snack foods. The sandwiches look sketchy too.
Darn it Mike, after watching so many of your amazing Japan convenience store videos, I'm saving up for a Japanese convience food pilgrimage 😉
I also watch people who eat at Chinese convenient stores too and the variety is amazing too… makes me think visiting a bunch of Asian countries for their convenience stores is worth it 😂
Funny watching a guy who never fails to mention his running and working out, struggle to tear open a bag of chips.
Been watching you since I was a kid I’m

I think that jelly dessert that you didn't like is anmitsu. It has agar jelly, not jell-o/gelatin, so the texture will be different.
"Oh, I don't like this. It's way too sweet!"
Proceeds to drink a sweet tea.
Everything, looks SOOOOOO GOOOOOOOODDDDDD, UHHHAMAZZZZINGGGGG
Lawson has the best desserts. Family Mart has the best hot foods by the counter, and 7 eleven has the best bentos (food)
I'd like to live in japan, as long as it's next to a Convenience Store. 😋
That sounds like a nice dream! 😅
I prefer a grocery store, cheaper and better deals than a convenient store - better deals in the long run.
Good news...... convenience stores are more common there than starbucks here. It is not uncommon for there to be 3+ in every block. Even in his video, lawsons is closed, but has a lawson just up the road.
