    I like seeing the medicine going into the gel because it lets us know the time of holding it! Thanks Dr Brown.

    @Dr. Julie Brown.
    I used my generic for epi pen recently, the injection fleet like a mosquito bite.
    After 30 min where I injected, The EpiPen.
    My upper thigh was sore, throbbing, and, I felt deep muscle pain for over an hour
    at the injection site.
    I put a lidocaine patch on, that seemed to work to relieve the pain.
    I believe the pain was intense due to 😢 pain conditions I suffer from, like Allodynia CRPS type 1 & 2.
    I wonder if the Auvi-Q is a better?
    Less painful injection?
    I will try to get a script.
    The others look like it’s a harsh projectile.
    ✍️ : Because…

    I have the last one, I was first prescribed it back in 2021, thank god I haven’t had the need to use one Yet. I’m afraid of needles and I hate that I have to keep the needle in for 10 seconds. Thank You for an informative video.

    Doc, maybe push the gelatin block against a ledge or heavy object, watching you hold it with your fingers was painful

    It worrIes me that the last two injections looked like the bubble of medicine went back into the needle after it made a bubble in the gel. I hope human soft tissue bubbles don’t push it back in like that gel did

    • @justanawkwardddlcfan
      @justanawkwardddlcfan 3 года назад +5

      they don't

    • @JulieBrownMD
      @JulieBrownMD  2 года назад +6

      I see that too but I suspect human tissue has much more 'give' than the gel has, and absorbs the medication better.

    I have chronic urticaria and severe peanut, tree nut, sesame etc... allergies. I tried most of these and my favorite by far is the auvi-Q. If you have availability to that I highly recommend it

    Of course my insurance would only cover the generic of the one you have to hold the longest 😐 Wish I could get the "fancy" one covered.

    I have a Question after that injection into your leg they're still medicine in the syringe Area why is There medicine still left After the injection ? There's still liquid medication in the syringe for at least four more shots in the leg isn't that considered a waste of money just for one shot in the leg injection Area ? Depending on which pharmacy you go to and depending it if you get the generic brand of a name brand you're looking at anywhere from $600 to $1,000 Dollars just for one injection after that one injection there's still more liquid medication For Four more injections

      The epinephrine itself is very cheap, it is the device that guarantees accurate delivery of a very precise amount to a very precise depth that makes it so expensive. It is designed to deliver a precise amount with residual drug left behind. The drug is better preserved in a vial if there is a larger volume there.

    The Teva generic for epipen is actually from israel
    Also it's pronounced "Teh-Va" and not "Tee-Va".

    Is it necessary to hold a epipen for 10 sec my doctor said should hold mine for that long but that seems very uncomfortable and have not had to use it yet since I just got it today it also the same as the first epipen

    • @awesomeallex2883
      @awesomeallex2883 5 лет назад +3

      mines the exact same as the yellow and black one on the far right side. i haven't
      had a need to use it yet either.

      Magical galaxy Lavender 5 seconds is good. They revised how long you keep it in.

    • @jeng9975
      @jeng9975 5 лет назад +9

      They have had different time limits on different injectors in the past. Follow the instructions that are printed on each device you have. If it says hold it for 10 seconds, you better do that or else you may not get enough epinephrine injected to save your life.

      The recommended holding time for the EpiPen and it's generics is 3 seconds, 2 seconds for Auvi-Q, and 10 seconds for the Adrenaclick generic.

    • @chuck2240
      @chuck2240 4 года назад +1

      Magical galaxy Lavender it is better to keep it in for 10 seconds so all of the medicine goes in so you don’t pass out from your throat closing(anaphylactic) but after you do use it, get an ambulance as soon as possible, it only helps for about 15 minutes

    The EpiPen with the yellow black marking I have that for my allergies I just pick it up for my pharmacy today today is Friday January the 7th 2022 the EpiPen generic that's yellow and black I have it right Now I was wondering you said in your video it's not available in the United States I just picked it up for my pharmacy here in California the pharmacy I got it from is in Hayward California the pharmacy is called pleasant Care pharmacy on B Street Hayward California thank you for Doing this video

    • @JulieBrownMD
      @JulieBrownMD  2 года назад +1

      I suspect what you have is a generic version of Adrenaclick. Does it say 'Adrenaclick' on it? What I was saying is that the brand name version isn't available, only the generics are available for a brand name which I believe isn't available -- which is a bit of an unsual situation.

    • @irmacamp210
      @irmacamp210 Год назад

      This video was made 4 years ago probably wasn’t available then. I hate that I have this epi pen also, 10 seconds is alittle to much for me. Thank God I haven’t had the need to use it as of yet.

    In California my insurance takes care of all of the cost of the EpiPen for me if I Had to pay out of pocket I would be looking at close to $1,000

    My only concern: does it hurt? How much pressure to apply?

    • @jamesgephart4560
      @jamesgephart4560 4 года назад +2

      Doesn't hurt as much as suffocation. There is really no quantifiable measurement of pressure to use, just increase the pressure until the device injects, which is certainly not comfortable, but it is a world away from the effects of an allergic reaction.
