Love the style of your cake. I'm going to make it for my husband as a retirement cake. Can I please ask, is the cake covered in buttercream or ganache? Thank you

@CakeQueenTanya Many thanks for your reply. I did make the cake. Hubby was very impressed. Can you please advise where you bought the large sugar crystals from and what they are called? I could only find small crystals, which took quite some time to add to the cake

@patgriffiths1315 you’re welcome! Im glad your husband loved it 😊 As for the crystals I use rock candy and break it up to the size I would like. It is a tedious process adding them to the cake so I try to keep them a manageable size. I have seen some pre-made crystals at Hobby Lobby in the cake section but here is what I use amzn.to/3Wb5oUX

@CakeQueenTanya Thank you so much for replying. Yes, hubby loved it. This was also out of my comfort zone, but I loved the challenge. I've just looked on Amazon for the candy crystals, says 'currently unavailable', could be I'm in the UK, but I now know what to look for. Once again, thank you for sharing your beautiful cake and all your help

This is a 6” cake and I used 6” cake boards. The cake “looks” slightly smaller because I cut the sides off all my cakes
