The reason for all the teddy bears is because of Theodore Roosevelt aka Teddy Roosevelt. in 1902 president Roosevelt participated in a bear hunting trip in Mississippi. While hunting he declared the behavior of the other hunters "unsportsmanlike" after he refused to kill a bear they had captured. news spread and newspapers around the country featured political cartoons starring "teddy" and "the bear".Meanwhile, in Brooklyn, New York, a shop owner named Morris Michtom saw one of the cartoons and had an idea. Michtom and his wife created plush, stuffed bears and placed them in the front window of their shop. With permission from Roosevelt, Michtom named the bears “Teddy bears." They were an instant success. Ladies and children carried the bears with them in public. President Roosevelt even used the teddy bear as his mascot when he ran for re-election.
Actually, it was a hunting trip to Colorado, not Mississippi. I stayed at the hotel he stayed at, they have the original Teddy Bear. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hotel_Colorado
This is how found footage horror movies start. No way would I stay there at night with those creepy ass animatronics. But this might be one of the most intact abandoned theme parks I've ever seen. It's stunning that so many props look untouched and that the arcade games are still there. I also would have stayed out of that Rushmore room. Looked like a lot of mold. Awesome video.
Abandoned places (and a lot of other stuff) just seems cooler in Japan than in other countries. Maybe it is because Japan is advanced but also such a different culture, that everything seems that bit more unique. This video is awesome and it is great that the levels of vandalism aren't too crazy.
I noticed that too, not only is japan advanced they also take honor and respect seriously, so i guess thats why the abandoned places doesnt seem looted or vandalized.
This reminds me of a few horror movies.. lol but it also reminds me of an episode of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Netiflix when a demon tried to turn Susie into a wax figure.
christine cantu Kids in Japan are more independant. Some cultures are different. Like in Ireland, we're alot more relaxed that America. As a kid my parents gave me the freedom to wander and explore. It's just what kids do. We lived in quite a rural area so I used to explore the fields, build huts in bushes, and explore a few abandoned places too just like these kids. They were fine as long as I told them were I was going and was back before it got dark. I think the freedom to explore shapes kids. But hey, all kids mature at different ages, and I suppose America is more dangerous so you have a reason to be protective of your kids ❤
yes honestly I wish my son could go out exploring like Christopher Robin in the 100 acrewoods but unfortunately it is horrible here in America for children. we are a military family and got stationed in Missouri that has a high level of human trafficking. I have to put those child leashes on my kids just to sit in the shopping cart while we walk around buying groceries. it's sad honestly. I wish we got stationed out of the country at times.
christine cantu I'm sorry to hear that :( I hope America becomes safer so you don't have to live in fear. To be honest it's not perfect here either. I live in a nice area but in the city we have a lot of rioting. There aren't guns like during the troubles but they have more creative weapons. Stones, bricks, bottles, petrol bombs etc. etc. But it's a lot rarer now than it was. Anyway, I hope you and your family stay safe ❤
I just happened to stumble across your video, and I'm pleasantly surprised with how respectful and knowledgable you are about this place! You seem really passionate about this kind of thing and that's cool to see. :) It's nice to get a little history along with seeing the place. I would love to explore old places but my area isn't great for that, sadly. Anyway, just subscribed and looking forward to your other videos!

I dont comment on videos too often, but I have to comment on this one - I grew up in Japan and magnificent seven was the most favorite movie when I was 7. My father found this place at some point and we visited once, and believe or not this place was awesome. I had to google what happened. It is making me very emotional. Now I moved to real western village aka prescott arizona, I cant do anything about this place and its just sad.
Well, what Josh explains is pretty much it, but in general Japan is not doing great economically for last couple of decades, not having this place geography convenient like Tokyo disney resort or universal studio is, and unlike those places they never had a solid sponsor, they just had to close...its been two weeks finding out this place was gone almost ten years ago and stil feeling sad haha
Wow, that was a cool amusement park! those Japanese kids were adorable! But where are their parents? did they just drop them off and go 'be careful and come home in time for dinner'? o.O
I noticed in Japan parents tend to let their kids wander more freely (perhaps because it has lower levels of crime). But it is odd they were just wandering around that abandoned amusement park ! They must live locally and sneak around sometimes.
Sarah Thomson well if I have learned anything from Anime it is that those three boys are orphans and are all chosen for some great purpose. I just cannot seem to find their swords or see them practicing jujitsus.
That -- or they're really little ghouls, they will stay by you JUST long enough for you to get TOO comfortable around them THEN when you least expect it, they WILL kill you! I'm sure Japan has something like black-eyed children or Children of the Damned, too!
Sarah Thomson it's not really culture, but kids are pretty independent in Japan. Sometimes after school, kids just leave school to go to restaurants or get candy.

glade to see that people still like history. Im a direct decedent of billy the kids brother so its cool to see that other country's can enjoy our history too.
Normally it's kind of urban exploration code to leave things as you find them for other people to see, although obviously there are always people who will take advantage and steal. I know in the UK if you're caught trespassing it's a civil matter rather than a legal one, however if you're caught stealing or they think you might have intended to steal something you can be arrested. Hope that helps.
+Exploring With Josh I found a video of this place when it was still open! It's so haunting to see it abandoned like this, but it shockly wasn't too badly trashed.
Hey Josh you should include some footage in your videos of theme parks like this when they were in full swing. i.e. use google search tools to specify a date range and see if there are any vids made of this theme park back in early 2000's. Would be so cool to see then and now footage kind of thing. Just an idea! Love your vids Josh. Wish I could do what you do but 4 kids later....haha.
you can really tell how much more the Japanese are respectful of other peoples property. In America, that would have been trashed and vandalized.

They can come meet me afterwards :3
Colo springs meet up would be so fun.
Great intro there!! 😆 Fascinating place and history. Those freaky puppets!! Great reactions and descriptors too by the way!! 👏🏻
glade to see that people still like history. Im a direct decedent of billy the kids brother so its cool to see that other country's can enjoy our history too.
Every time he turns the frickin camera on a doll it makes me jump

Hi Josh, just curious.... if your at a abandoned place and you really like something, do you take it home with you as a souvenir?
Cherrellee Daman wondering the same
Cherrellee Daman I would believe he isn't able to unless it's not considered stealing if it belongs to nobody
it's abandoned? so it's nobody's.... that's why I asked...
Hope that helps.
yae thats what I was thinking
you have renewed my obbsesion with youtube!! great job Josh love your videos. keep it up!!
As a hoarder, it's so hard for me not to take at least a couple of things from this abandoned place to keep as a souvenir 😂
suddenly he becomes a baby sitter..that is funny how they don't understand you 😂 😂

Who lets 3 young boys explore dangerous places lol nice video though :)

My biggest fear is puppetry, so watching this was a very bad idea. All well, I proved I have balls! I think...

I really wonder if those animatronics still work
If they do try to image them suddenly moving. i don't think they work tho, they most likely need some form of power.
Lucy's Toy Chest They work alright when you spend the night there all by yourself.
The Hacks-By-Jack Channel Oh god no don't even.
Lol just imagine in the night them moving
Lps Lucy Productions FNAF
Haha, the children are so cote :'D When you went upstairs they were just like: "Are you kidding?" :'D Made me laugh so hard xF
I like how polite and respectful Josh is to every place he visited. Subscribing! :)
In future is there coming any 360 videos. Would be awesome!
I don't think it would be cool because 360 videos have really bad quality
Who else got spooked when he turned the camera on one of those mannequin things
I am stunned at how untouched this place is. You would never find something like that in the U.S.
its so cool that you found kids in Japan doing what you're doing on RUclips!
Look at the sheriff's vest. You can see the shadow where someone took his badge!
