Timeless... LYRICS : They're talking aloud in the city They know that resistance is here They're meeting in secret locations Just out of fear Away from the eyes of opressors The message is perfectly clear They're stalking the night in the city They know that resistance is here Time is a shot away Just like your love you can't stop We are a breath away In time a stop away They're cheking around in the city They know the resistance is here They know it is here in the city They know they can hear Where danger's fatal attraction And voices demand to be heard But now is the time for action Because action speaks louder than words The days will change And we'll change our ways And we'll end our games But love like life will always stay And time may change but feelings remain You know it's true That feelings come through And nothing can stay blue Admit it's true That feelings come through And nothing can stay blue
let's not dis the young people out there. It's not there fault they missed the best generation of underground industrial. And I mean true industrial. Not 4 guitarists and a keyboard that's unnoticeable. Top shelf all the way!
Sheffield gave birth to some real musical innovation and ideas in the late 70's early 80's and later, DVA, Cabs, Human League, ABC, Im so Hollow, Chakk, Hula, Artery, Pulp, Moloko, Arctic Monkeys etc.. diverse stuff...and Def Leopard!
I bought this record when it first came out - check out the bass riff on the intro - it just make the hair on the back of your neck stand up! Clock DVA: Clockdvahh, Clock Duvet (as preferred by Phil Oakey) or Clock D-V-A, what's your preference?
On a number of occasions, Adi himself mentioned he prefers "D-V-A" (the group's early cassette label was called "Dvation" from a modified term for "deviation", so there you have it :) Of course, "dva" is a common word in many Slavic languages - meaning "two"; in Clock DVA's context, it is a reference to "Nadsat" language from "A Clockwork Orange" which, as we know it, is a form of "newspeak", combining Russian words with English. "Dva" could be pronounced as "dvaah" which would be the most correct version - however, "DVA" is a bit of an "abbreviation" that never fully reveals itself, thus its experimental concept justifies the spelling just the same... but "duvet"? Honestly, I never ever heard anyone pronouncing the group's name "Clock Duvet"... and no disrespect to Phil, but "duvet" sounds super pretentious, forced - and downright incorrect... And yes, the group's entire discography is one great treasure trove.
Einfach nur cool -vielen Dank fürs Hochladen:-) jaja, dass waren noch geile Zeiten, die 80er hab leider seit der SIGN cd nix mehr gehört von Clock DVA gibt es die noch ???
It sounds like the music played in the background when I was drunk as a kid trembling of cold at 4am on the floor at some random house. Good memories =)
I bought this album back in 1985 when I was living in London. Love at first hearing!
One of my very very fave bands and albums
Timeless...
LYRICS :
They're talking aloud in the city
They know that resistance is here
They're meeting in secret locations
Just out of fear
Away from the eyes of opressors
The message is perfectly clear
They're stalking the night in the city
They know that resistance is here
Time is a shot away
Just like your love you can't stop
We are a breath away
In time a stop away
They're cheking around in the city
They know the resistance is here
They know it is here in the city
They know they can hear
Where danger's fatal attraction
And voices demand to be heard
But now is the time for action
Because action speaks louder than words
The days will change
And we'll change our ways
And we'll end our games
But love like life will always stay
And time may change but feelings remain
You know it's true
That feelings come through
And nothing can stay blue
Admit it's true
That feelings come through
And nothing can stay blue

someone was watching A LOT of Cabaret Voltaire videos before they made this!
Same director made those vids

Clock DVA were formed in 1978.
They're one of the original industrial/electronic bands.
