Latvia need to simplify their strategy to something they can execute well. I've been a fan of Latvia for years. This is disgraceful. The most dominant teams in history (Stoklos/Smith, Kiraly/Steffes, Dalhausser/Rodgers, and Mol/Sorum) run a simple strategy but execute it better than anyone else in the world.
I dunno. They're short and run a creative just as good as antibody if not the best at running the shoot/on 2 option. They are playing against the best team in the world here. Anders put on a ridiculous show. Playing against the best block in the world ain't easy.
@Sabrewolf In general I agree. The most successful teams in the world have always played very simple volleyball. However I think that Samoilov and Smedins maybe thought that this would the only way to win against Anders and Christian as you can see that Samoilov got blocked a lot when they ran a standard set. You mustn't forget that these teams know each other very well, train together etc. So there is definitely a reason why they decided to run that kind of offense. I didn't see their other matches so I don't know if they ran the same offense against other teams too. If yes, then it might be the lack of success on the tour last year that made them change their game plan.
Are you guys out of your minds? They are one of the most successful teams.. they have tons of gold medals in Tours the only thing they don’t have is an olympic medal and height

Smenovs seems like he hangs back too long before approaching to hit with pace, I think that’s where the errors come from.
Anders is also the best in the world right now. Even if they simply, probably won't win
