Because Onewe write all their own music, maybe you will want to know how each member contributed to the song. ROME was mostly a creation of Giuk and as you go through their music you can start to tell who was the main creator of a song. Their re-debut song was Reminisce About All, which I feel was quite daring to do. (You will likely understand after listening to the song) Yonghoon wrote this song and I didn't realize he can't perform this without crying until I started watching the live versions of this song. So to say that lyrics are important is an understatement. But the music is still so very good so if that is not your thing, you will still enjoy Onewe. I feel like sometimes Onewe are poets that also happen to be amazing musicians. Onewe is my ult group and I have been listening to k-pop for some time now and I know K-bands don't get the love that the idol groups do, but their talent is amazing. I will try my hand at ranking with you as you go. Currently, the guitarist, Kanghyun, and the main vocalist, Yonghoon are serving in the military. While they are off, Dongmyeong is busy performing in a musical, Giuk released a solo album and Harin is busy fixing anything broken in the dorm (just kidding). I would also love for you to hear covers they have done. They really do justice to girl group songs, like (G)I-DLE's LaTaTa, or Mammamoo's Hip for example (there are many covers). Also, there are often acoustic version of their songs if you are interested.
I'm glad you're starting Onewe's ranking, I thought it would take a little more time. Very nice intro! Ring on my Ears was a grower for me, but nowadays it's one my favorites. Their sound has evolved a bit from the 3 debut songs (Reminisce About All, O&4 and ROME), but I guess the raw, indie vibe of ROME still appeals to me a lot. Like other comments said, when you have the chance, please check some live performance😉
I'm so happy you're starting your onewe ranking journey! This song is probably going to end up on the lower half of my own ranking but that's only because they have so many incredible songs. I do absolutely love their live arrangement. Here's a live performance if you want to check it out: ruclips.net/video/4x0KzhYMFnA/видео.html Their official re-debut was with Reminisce about All, although I think this song (ROME) gives a better introduction to the band as a whole. You'll probably see what I mean when you listen to RAA. As a rule, for onewe it's always worth checking out the lyrics, they are truly poets! Some of my favorite lyrics are (chronological order): Reminisce about All, 0&4 (lots of puns in Korean), Love Me, If, Trauma (Aquarium), A.I., Cosmos, Universe, Trigger, and Orbit.
You said this was coming. I'm glad you got to it. At this point, I am in total agreement with your ranking. I expect your next song will be Reminisce About All. Younghoon wrote it and has trouble singing it live without crying. Now I'm looking forward to Purple Kiss.
Yay Onewe ranking!! I'm seated with popcorn, watching you work your way through Onewe's amazing discography :) Ring On My Ears hits harder live as you'll see in concert clips, especially the encore stage for O! NEW Evolution II. btw, the intro slaps!
thank u for reacting!! i am so excited bcz of this new ranking series the intro is to die for! actually onewe's debut (redebut technically cuz they were a self formed band called mas0094 even before being under rbw and being onewe) is not ring on my ears (ROME) but a song called reminisce about all (RAA) its an amazing ballad which showcases yonghoon's (main vocal, leader, sometimes guitar, also can play piano) heavenly vocals, and he's the main creator of RAA and ROME is giuk's song (used to have a stage name cya but recently changed to his real name) he's the bassist and the rapper, we call him a genius maknae haha, he's so talented, he also has a soundcloud with lots of his songs, and he helps sometimes with production for some other artists (like purple kiss for example) kanghyun (guitarist) and harin (drummer) don't really sing in their songs but like.. they don't need to cuz their skills with their instruments are god level, they've been doing it since music academy, omg sometimes i think they are not real and u liked keys in this song - dongmyeong is in charge of keys -piano, keyboard, keytar, and his voice is so rich and sweet, love it so onewe make their own music, they are massively involved in production, it's rare when i say that this or that idol is a true musician but onewe are, they are the main creators of like all of their discography (except like one or two songs in which they still participated a lot) if ur gonna react to a guide then weves (fandom name) always recommend ollie0094 "one band five members many reasons to love them", it's really a great one but is a little bit not up to date, but it's not taht big of a deal honestly i would love to say so much more but it's already such a long comment lol
Yeah, no question you're gonna love 'em. Despite being an RBW band, and brother group to Oneus, they actually way back before then; they formed off their own backs. Harin and Kanghyun were friends at Modern K Music Academy, then Giuk later joined them and they decided to form a band, with Giuk's friend and neighbour Dongmyeong on vocals. Playing at a local festival, they then encountered Yonghoon, who'd just won a talent contest, and recruited him as their lead singer, and became MAS 0094 (Make A Sound; 00-94 is their age range). Only later did they join RBW, undergo more training (including a survival show, the Unit), and eventually redebut as Onewe. Also, they will write songs about _anything,_ for any reason. This one, I think is about a few things mashed together, but the title comes from Giuk liking the feeling of his earrings hitting his face when he moves. Another of his songs, AI, was originally from his SoundCloud, entitled something like "What if robots have human emotions too?" He also, for the yuks, wrote a song (also on his SoundCloud) about a watermelon, writing the rap lyrics _on_ said watermelon. Kanghyun wrote Aurora because he felt they didn't have any shouty songs. Their brains, I swear... 😂 My still-favourite song of theirs, 0&4, which I don't doubt you'll get to soon, was filmed in the same room as this one...
YAY, I'm so excited to see you work your way through ONEWE's discography-I think you'll have a blast! "Emotional rock" is a good description for most ONEWE songs, though not all! My favorite two albums are probably Planet Nine: Alter Ego and Planet Nine: Voyager, so I really can't wait to see what your reaction to those albums are. And for Ring On My Ears, Giuk (bassist/rapper) was the main writer and composer. I especially love the arrangement of Ring On My Ears ONEWE do when they perform it in concert, perhaps even more than their official version!
Thank you for reacting ONEWE! Ring On My Ears is my most favorite song of early ONEWE. It actually has three kinds of versions. So please check the remix ver. (in ONE album) ruclips.net/video/6OvpfRl4X10/видео.html and live performance ver. ruclips.net/video/kAaRkiubAx8/видео.html (The first song of the video)
Ahhh been looking forward to this! 🥲Love your onewe intro people have already mentioned but this isn’t their debut, it’s reminisce about all ☺️ (for them as Onewe not MAS 0094). What I love about onewe is how poetic their lyrics are so I do recommend ☺️💫
Your into just brought me to tears. Onewe is my second ult group. My first ult group is monsta x. And yonghoon is an ult of mine next to hyungwon of monsta x. You are going to love these guys even more. I can’t wait to see your ranking and your journey to possibly becoming a WEVE (onewe fandom)
I assume you're not going back to their origins as MAS when they released two albums under a different label in 2016 & '17 but before you move on to track #2 on their debut album as Onewe you might want to check out their pre-debut collab with Oneus called Last Song. It's a heartwarming song and the MV gives you an early look at them being young and adorable. I also rarely pay much attention to rock lyrics but Onewe's lyrics are very poetic and are an important element of their songwriting.
Cool intro!!! loving it already! Also, just want to clarify, you did know that the logo at the beginning is for Weve (onewe fanclub), right? The logo for onewe is a bit different But!!!!!! if you actually choose the weve logo, that's pretty awesome coz weve deserves it :3
i would very much recommend check out "reminisce about all" with the lyrics, knowing what's being said adds so much more feeling to it

Meanwhile Kanghyun doesn't listen to it much because he's not a fan of ballads... 🤣
@@Brickerbrack No solo🤫

it's still a looong way to go but can't wait for gravity reaction (their latest release). you'll absolutely gonna love itt!!
Can’t wait!
They are a very lyrical band but I understand not wanting to distract yourself with them
