Every clip in this movie is incredible. Over the years the father has become my favorite character along with Julie Walter's portayal. The first time we see this film we think its about Billy but its really about his dad and how he changes because of love. Love for his son.

Yeah, the very end of the movie absolutely slays. I was a puddle of tears after watching it, and even the memory is making me weepy!

Suddenly, I look at his face and I can see why Tom Holland was chosen for the stage version.

This piece was composed by Stephen Warbeck. I'm going to post a link in a separate comment, as comments with links are sometimes automatically blocked. If the link doesn't go through, just look up the name of the composer and Billy Elliot here on youtube, and it will come up for you 👍

"médiocre" ? Pas du tout ! Sa prof le lui avait dit : il ne sera pas jugé sur ses performances, il les apprendra à l'Ecole, c'est sa façon de se mouvoir et d'habiter l'espace qui comptera. Regardez à nouveau les réactions des jurés pendant la prestation :) La question ultérieure ("the electricity") n'a fait que renforcer la 1ère impression des jurés... Tendresse 😍 @@sophiareynolds6424

Seriously he looks really clumsy and there is no routine. I love the movie and the idea behind it but they should have cast a dancer or used a double.

    • @jazznpercy

The whole point was that he was clumsy but his energy, love for dance & raw talent were there.

It's very clear that he hasn't had much training, because of his background. That he's coming in much less prepared than the richer kids who were prepared for the interview process.
But he has the physicality and the passion to be really good at it. And despite the many flaws in the audition dance there's enough moments that are genuinely balanced and powerful to give them something to latch on. People forget too, his mining background means they knew he had real core body strength and the mental toughness to cope with the life.
