Oh my Goddess!!! The One and Only! I flew from Sydney to Michigan in 1998 because she was on the line up of Michigan Womyn's Music Festival. I needed to feel her energy and soul and be right there in front of the podium. She's a magician with words. I bought her CD there and fell apart in front of her and could only utter, 'You saved my life'. I sing many of her songs on guitar. Misty Mountain became my life song. So happy to see her here. And my name is Margo too. Thank you twin Sister. xx
Go ahead and let them see you get teary. It will be a positive experience for all of you. And it won’t take long. Thank you for your comment. The songs’ message is timeless.
What an electrifying and timely rendition of this song. Such power and passion in Ferron and all the back up singers. Gave me chills and pierced my heart. Thank you, Ferron, for your beautiful soul's expression. What a gift you've been to us all for many years.
A couple of years after producing this piece, it still stuns me with its power. Watching the rehearsal and how Ferron approached the production was magical and humbling. Happy to have it on my channel for all to enjoy.
You and a million others. Check out the promo I produced for her at the Freight & Salvage in Berkeley. She really is remarkable. ruclips.net/video/33JHBfKiTBo/видео.html Thanks for your comment - please feel free to subscribe.
And event of a life-time!! So wonderful to see everyone on stage, and I send love to each. Seeing and hearing Ferron here, with this song, with Gina’s vocals, with all the voices; with these words; these words...this music...that moment, and this moment. Thank you Jennifer, Julie, Melanie and All ❤️🙏🏾❤️😍❤️🙏🏾❤️
Thanks for your comment - and her music is terrific. There is another video I produced at Berkeley's Freight & Salvage. You can view it in the playlist.
A poet and so relevant now and then! I heard her when she first came out. Wow just as powerful in this time as before and maybe more so as we are older and maybe wiser.
I remember hearing this years ago when I was much younger, Ferron is still sharing her messages and soulfulness. Breaking our hearts open, "We must not be complacent."
Very moving! Love the spoken word rendition...highlights the lyrics of a powerful song. Thank you so much Ferron for sharing your immense talent and Margo for producing a fine document to the power of art.
Thank you all for your comments on this video. It was an absolute gift to be able to shoot and edit Jennifer Berezan's "Song for All Beings." And to produce this piece was particularly wonderful. Ferron personally asked for this piece to be distributed - and Jennifer in her generosity agreed. Pay it forward everyone. And thanks for viewing. Margo Dean
@@abelis644 You are more than welcome. It was a chilling experience to produce this video for Jennifer Berezan. And on another note, I was in Victoria last month running the half marathon. Love Canada!
Sharon Washington......I am so happy to see you on stage singing. I lost your contact info years ago, and have always thought of you. Huge hug and blue skies to you. My address and email are the same if you still have them.
Thanks to all for this . I lost someone I loved very much 21 years ago today and was told "You don't know what you have until you lose it." We must hold on to what we've got!
I just saw her perform in Oregon, in both Portland & Eugene - looking & sounding wonderful & powerful as ever. I drove many miles from home to see her & listen again and fill my soul & heart, as her music does. The only song I really missed in her shows was this one, also one of my favorite revolutionary anthems (as others have said) that has absolutely inspired me for over 30 years. So it was great to come back home & watch this powerful version. Love & appreciate the addition of “I will not be complacent!” and her sweet powerful Angel choir! Thank you for all the blessings you share with us Ferron, & thanks for taking & sharing this video Margo. This is an excellent time to share this inspiring & most essential song & message once again. 💜
I couldn't agree more Rebecca. I also produced her concert at Berkeley's Freight & Salvage. You can find cuts from some of the songs. Her manager used the video to promote Ferron and it was quite successful. But more importantly, more people who could not see Ferron in person were able to view her via video - and her humor that evening was outstanding. Thanks for your comments. Margo
🤦🤦 You don't listen well, do you?! You're missing the ENTIRE POINT! Listen again.... esp around 3:50. The divisions are a lie. A fing lie! Open your eyes!
@@ChristineYvonne-zr7yl 🤦 Listen. I've been there... but those idols in the big white house are just puppets. Really. Both sides! They are two wings of the same bird. When we choose to not be complacent, we choose to stop doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome. We've been very blinded and very broken for a long time. This isn't red vs blue. The best thing people can do is learn how to take better care of your family and people around you, your neighbors, your block, your town/city, your county. These are places where you can make a difference. Smile. Hug your neighbor. Make a box of treats for the local nursing home. Check the safety of your neighborhood. Talk to people on the street. Meet your sheriff. Thank a fireman. Carry groceries. Daily. Pushing a little R or D button on a screen once every four years is an absolute illusion. It makes no logical sense (given the century worth of wars, hate, poverty in this country)! When you really look at it, it's lazy. It makes people put hope in the government making things better. I'm sorry you're jaded. It's a bitter pill, indeed. I wish you peace.
Thank you for pointing that out. I should have included them in the credits but have corrected that in the description above. They are, from left to right: Jami Sieber, Damond Moodie, Chris Webster, Barbara Higbie, Sharon Washington and Gina Breedlove.
I was listening to NPR the other day and they said it's in our nature. All we can do is be kind to one another and do the best we can in our little world. Thank you for your comment. md
What a gift she is. I relied on her wisdom and music for decades.
Me too!!! 😘
Saw her live twice in Albuquerque in the 80s. Fantastic woman and artist.
Shivers.
Best rendition of this song I have loved for decades!!!🎆
How is it possible I forgot how very powerful Ferron's work is.
You are amazing Ferron.
Fabulous! I am so glad this happened
Saved my soul in the '80s for sure. Gave meaning to life for all...
THANKYOU with ALL OF MY HEART !!

Speechless here. Excuse me now, I have a beautiful artist to investigate.

How is Ferron now? Anyone know? I hope well!
That is such a powerful song, Ferron: my favourite anthem! Too bad we weren't singing this in Grade One instead of God Save The Queen and Oh Canada.
Would you please provide a list of the singers? Thanks.
