Nice video. I bought a pair recently (noticed your video is 4 years old but these radios are still available to buy). I really like them. Have a great day from Northeast Texas US. 👍
Thanks! Yes I have still have these little radios and they still work perfectly. I was surprised at the range with the tiny little antenna but it does seem quite optimized for the band they cover.
Yes, there are a few different versions of this radio around. The GMRS version is basically the same but locked to just those frequencies. Here in the UK and Europe we have another version that Retevis make and these are restricted to PMR-446 frequencies and 0.5 watts. KSUN is totally unrestricted and has 3 watts output.
I may be completely wrong, so take what I am fixing to say with a grain of salt, but I'm pretty sure these are rebranded Retevis RB19. They look exactly the same, just a different brand name. On the Retevis website, on the product page for RB19 click support, right next to the buy button, and you can get a download to program these devices in the firmware/software section. I hope this helps someone. Again, not sure if its compatible so use at your own risk.
Sorry for late reply but yes, you could be right. I should try the RB19 software and see what happens ha ha. The radios are available under a whole load of different brand names so I would guess the software is pretty similar.
Hi Mike, yes they are something a little different from the normal radios. I was pleased with the audio quality from such small units too. Look out for my programming video soon!
@@Transmission1 Hello, I've bought those just recently after watching your video. I love it but after I bought it I realise it can only transmit up to 470mhz, where iam its 476-478mhz. Could you help me and to see that this will never be able to be programmed to 476-478mhz before I return it. I do really like the size and compact features. Only if it was my legal frequency. PLS help.
Thank you for the review of this walkie. I’m planning to buy these for a hospital setting. Can I ask, does it have a ring button? How would one know if someone is calling them
Thanks for the great vid. I have been looking at these for a pocketable HAM radio. Do you have a link for the programming software? I mainly want to know if channels can be split frequency for repeater use and have tone squelch. Not much info on the net, I think yours is the first review. Cheers...
BTW, not the first USB-C radio, which would be the Mi Walkie Talkie 2. I have one and it's quite good. I especially like being able to Bluetooth program them from my phone. But, more expensive than these and too large for a pocket.
Yes I was surprised that nobody has covered this radio considering the thousands of reviews on AliExpress. I'm uploading a video shortly covering the programming of these radios and they can cover split frequency along with CTCSS and DCS tones so should be fine for repeater use. Once the video is up I'll post a download link to the software as it's not on KSUN's website and I needed to contact the seller for this. Why they make it so difficult I don't know!
@@Transmission1 Thanks again. Also, how sturdy is the antenna? Would it break in a jeans pocket? Radios don't last long on my belt, generally fall off getting in and out of the car.
The antenna is semi flexible but feels very tough. It's not likely to be broken in a pocket as it's only 5.5 cm long! I was a bit sceptical about how it would perform but having used it for a while I don't need to worry. It's non removable hence I couldn't reliably give a verdict on the power levels but I'm thinking it's around 3 watts output.
Baofeng t1 are a good radio and they can be put on pmr 446 channels so small and portable.Good video post radios look okay I like the slimness of them.
Yes, they are super slim.. smaller than most mobile phones. I'll have a look at some of the new Baofeng's soon but many people have already covered them with reviews.
Hello friend, can you tell me how many kilometers to the maximum you got with this radio model? I don't understand English, maybe I spoke in the video. tks
It's the most powerful and compact little radio I've tested. Make sure you get the programming cable if you are going to buy it because there is NO way to program this by hand...
You need to purchase the proper USB-C programming cable for this radio. A normal USB cable won't program the radio. I had to contact the seller to find the right one - it's a bit annoying!
You cannot program subchannels using CTCSS or DCS direct from the radio, you need to use the programming cable and software to do this unfortunately. See my programming video for details.

What's the mode when you hold down the volume up and down? The volume down Seems like it's scanning and holding the volume up makes a loud noise.
I got the same radio, my is Retevis RB19P Long Range Rechargeable Walkie Talkies, GMRS

They look a rather nice radio indeed! Excellent video. 73'

The size and USB-C was too tempting, so I have a pair on the way. They do a deal including the programming cable now.

I've picked some of these radios up on pmr 446 but they are with a loud voice prompts there's no where in the menu to turn it off.
Tengo un par de estos radios, son buenos para usar en ciudad, los compré hace 4 años.
se puede programar en FRS? o nomas PMR

Is this the best little radio you've found because I'm looking to buy something like this.

Can I use a regular C-type data cable as a programming cable? Or do I have to buy a new dedicated C-type cable?
You need to purchase the proper USB-C programming cable for this radio. A normal USB cable won't program the radio. I had to contact the seller to find the right one - it's a bit annoying!
@@Transmission1can this model scan for other walkie talkie? Or a way to find out the frequency of the current pre-set channels?
Does the receiving range depend on the channel selection?
I had this for awhile. I forgot how to scan for signal. Does anyone know?
There is no possibility for subchanels? Or you have to program them?
You cannot program subchannels using CTCSS or DCS direct from the radio, you need to use the programming cable and software to do this unfortunately. See my programming video for details.
New subscriber just bought a wlnkdc1. Just for fun 😜
How do you change the language on these?
This Ksun M3 have dual channel monitor?
No, unfortunately they do not have a dual channel monitor in these radios.
@@Transmission1 Thanks for your answer, what other similar with dual channel monitor do you recomend?
8 watts? ..8000mah??.. ridiculous.
Yes, exactly. That's why I suggested it's around 3 watts power output ;)
how much is the distance? I do not understand English
сколько километров связь
???? KM/ MIL
this one has a special thing, it does KM AND MILES TOO !!!
