Horobi, Death's Wail is really good with that sort of effect. It becomes pay 1 life, destroy target creature. With Sangromancer, you can actually gain life with the interaction.
I actually have a Patron of the Orochi deck! It's really one of my favorite decks to play, and I've had many people ask me about it, take pictures of it for their own decks, etc. I love going crazy with it, especially if I get Helix Pinnacle or, or my Omnath, Locus of Mana. I also build up some crazy Hydras with it, or supercharge my Orochi Hatchery. I initially meant for it to be Snake Tribal to reflect some love for Kamigawa, but has evolved to include some brutal stuff. It's my perfect deck that provides fun unique mechanics, while also providing that competitive challenge. Also, you may have convinced me to start brainstorming a Tomorrow, Azumari's Familiar deck.
Snake Offering is an amazing ability, being able to play a card at flash speed (With reduced cost) is probably one of the best parts of the card. You don't even need many in a deck, like a Sakura-Tribe Elder, Skullwinder, and maybe even Shigeki. Chameleon Colossus is also an amazing Snake that doubles as an outlet for all the mana you generate.
Used to have the Patron of Orochi deck. It was definitely explosive, with all the mana dorks and all the tappy untappy shenanigans. My fav card to pair it with is Illusionist's Bracers, cause copying the ability by-passes the once/turn restriction, if I'm not wrong It has since evolved into a Sasaya deck which is another fun story to tell
My favorite unique commander is Liberator, Urza's battlethopter. It gives your entire deck flash and allows stack interaction that most players aren't expecting. No one expects Torpor Orb in response to their ETB bomb.
I built a Tawnos, the Toymaker deck. Never seen anyone else playing it, but people are flabbergasted when I start mutating stuff, getting 3-4 triggers. And the best thing: the whole deck was like 20-30 bucks.
@@marcodaddario3965 I‘m not sure if I‘m allowed to post links. But just throw in all Mutate Birds and Beasts, some card draw and stuff you like. Maybe also Reflections of Littjara for double copying stuff.
I don't think that's how it works but feel free to correct me. The counters work independently of each other and the +1/+1 counter remains on the creature it just also has a -1/-1 counter. Ruling: "Undying relies on the last known information about the permanent just before it was put into a graveyard. If that permanent had a +1/+1 counter on it, then receives enough -1/-1 counters for it to be put into a graveyard due to having 0 toughness or lethal damage marked on it, it won't return to the battlefield despite the state-based action of +1/+1 counters and -1/-1 counters "cancelling each other out". As the permanent last existed on the battlefield, it had a +1/+1 counter on it, so undying will not trigger."
@@reagansimpson6473 Note the last part of that ruling. '...despite the state-based action of +1/+1 counters and -1/-1 counters "cancelling each other out."' (moved period for correct punctuation) Outside of edge cases that get around state-based actions, the counters will cancel each other out, effectively reseting the undying trigger. This is why Mickeus the unhallowed combos off with every persist creature. You choose when each goes on the stack, and so you get to infinitely recur creatures.
My most unique (and favourite) commander is and always will be Odric, Lunarch Marshall. I have yet seen anybody, anywhere, have this as a commander. I'm sure that there are players having this commander, though. Just feels weird not seeing Odric anywhere online lol
Odric keyword tribal is pretty scary when everyone you have gets everything they have. Humble sleepers like Basilisk Collar and Darksteel Myr go pretty wild here
@Rexir2 The key, though, is not to overdo it. You need to focus on the most important one that will make your deck sustainable on multiple opponant turns. A lot of my creatures have vigilance, lifelink, flying and first strike. I fill out with splashes of double strike, trample, indestructible, deathtouch and menace. Akroma, Vision of Ixidor is a monster card in this deck.
Tomorrow deck looks fun, I love commanders that aren’t the front and center strategy. Tomorrow certainly applies a new way to play the game but it’s far more deck focused instead of commander focused.
I run Skeleton Ship in a deck I have with in a pirate shell with Rukarumel! I roll a die before a game to slot in a creature type from 5 different types, and while it's not a pirate, any good pirate deck should have a ship 😁
I have a not typical mono black deck with King Macar, lifegain tricks and vehicles and I made a Archellos lagoon mystic but instead of landfall what's average on this one i made stax and Tap/Untap shinnannigans. I call it my realDJdeck 😂
Patron of the Orochi was my first EDH deck. It's so much fun and still one of my favorites... infinite mana...boring... make 232 mana in a turn...LOL, so satisfying.
Patron of the orichi also untaps itself. So you can activate it on every person's turn, a pseudo seedborn

Do you happen to have a decklist?

For that Rakdos, throw in a Juri and Judith to capitalize on your sac triggers for even more mayhem!
"Can't always win". so opponent can keep skeleton ship, no sweat!
THANK YOU!! thats what I was thinking

Could you share your decklist, please? I've been trying to build a Beast themed deck with a good power/budget balance.

I'd be interested too
Sad you didn't mention undying with the skeleton ship. Put the minus counters on your undying stuff to reset their revive.

Alot of ppl play odric, just lost to it yesterday 😂 its more present in the 99 tho than in command zone but i see it in keyword soup builds pop up
as a commander, i havent seen it, but its a total banger in my thalia and the gitrog deck, makes every creature a assasin-like guy
I had this one in a Thalia & Gitrog deck too. I eventually took the deck apart and I'm planning on building a mono-W Odric deck, this guy is awesome

Wizard commanders seems interesting because with hatching plans you are basically doing 4 mana draw 3 cards and I summon so not bad
Could you use something with an untap cost to add multiple orochi untaps on the stack before one resolves and bars further activations that turn?
I run Skeleton Ship in a deck I have with in a pirate shell with Rukarumel!
I roll a die before a game to slot in a creature type from 5 different types, and while it's not a pirate, any good pirate deck should have a ship 😁
I use POTO in my hydra deck with sakiko as the commander for mass mana for huge hydras
Hey why did you let the cat out of the bag in regards to Patron of the Orochi?
Harobi deaths wail would go crazy in the black deck
Kuro
i love stuff like this. really gets the brewing brain working
I have a not typical mono black deck with King Macar, lifegain tricks and vehicles and I made a Archellos lagoon mystic but instead of landfall what's average on this one i made stax and Tap/Untap shinnannigans. I call it my realDJdeck 😂

The first one can be a reliable way to win with trisdecaphobia
Savra, Queen of the Golgari is quite a rude commander.
Opt would be good in tomorrow, true
Lol thats the weirdest elf i have ever seen
Kuro seems like a bad yawgmoth
Hell ya
!
This is a lot of Copium
