What a great podcast Mr. C…Julius is sooo talented, and to offer FPP classes is just amazing. I for sure have to sign up as I’m terrified of paper piecing. Enjoyed listening to his journey. Thanks for sharing.

Am part of the BOM. I do love FPP but struggle with determining the size of the fabric to cut. Any suggestions? The larger pieces with funky angles kick me in the rear all the time. Would love to see your live streams on RUclips as well. I save and can re- watch as I need. Your colors are astounding and only wish I could get my hands on half of the colors you use. I like brights and lots of colors. I have gotten the wings pattern. I saw you with Chris from Rose City Originals and of course, Corey. I think you might have helped another creator I watch, Shannon Way at Sleigh Arts.
Thank you Corey for doing this podcast. 💜

Determining the size of patches to cut for FPP definitely is a point of personal preference and takes lots of practice. A good rule of thumb is 1" larger than the patch size, but funky angles need even larger until you get used to it. We suggest aligning the patch and then flipping the fabric over recreating that 1/4" seam to make sure the patch you have is large enough. Corey will do a short video in the future on how he checks that his pieces are large enough when he does FPP.

@LindasElectricQuilters thank you. I have one that I am stuck on and I don't want to waste too much fabric.

We get it! You might try a practice piece. Maybe make a photo copy of the area so you don't mess up the original and use fabric scraps. It might be worth the time.

I would love a tutorial on FPP. I don't really want to design patterns though.
