The fact that they were happier with the patch updates from the malware people was hilarious. It makes sense, if it works better in their world that the patch updates are more regular and that they're still getting their jobs done. That's insane to me but it's also hilarious that they're just gonna look at it more regularly and check for malicious things, and enjoy the free it work? It's hilarious but god damn. I guess they have back ups and isolated systems and the patches are doing more good than bad. I just think that's so weird as someone who has been taught the opposite

Years ago, and it might still be active for all I know, there was a way to voluntarily allow your computer to be used by people doing research, needing supercomputer access but could not get it. Leave your computer on overnight and it would be part of a network that was almost as good as a supercomputer.
My mom owned a condo, and I forgot she had rented it out to someone, and my mom lived in another one she owned directly across the side walk. One Christmas, I just walked into someone else's house thinking it was Mom's. Luckily I just said "I'm sorry, and nothing bad happened, but could have gotten shot or something.

I remember my buddy and I were invited to a party one time. The tone for the night was set when I couldn't find the house and after some back and fourth was told to 'just walk on in'... we go in. We step inside and were greeted to a little girl who stopped watching her cartoons and is now staring at us. Holy fuck this is the wrong house. We book it out of there.
