I really miss these buses so much. Even more, those awesome d60hf buses. To me, those are still the best buses, I don't care how old they are.

M2 Bus running out of Mother Clara, M101 and M103 being apart of once 100th Street Depot (Current Day Tuskegee) Bx15 (My Childhood Bus) Used to be apart of West Farms. Man And I was only 2 years old. But seeing these buses gone is crazy, they were apart of my childhood growing up with the D60hfs and Vii CNGs.

Also, the Bee-Line MCI 102-A2s were retired by early 2009, replaced by the current 2008 Orion V Suburbans (#801-#830). #828-#830 were retired and sold to different agencies. #801-#827 still run today, and are found on the BxM4C, as well as various other Express Bee-Line routes.

And as of January 3rd, 2022, the X23 and X24 (now SIM23 and SIM24) are now MTA Routes, operating out of Charleston Depot.

15 years later, all of these buses (except for one have retired). Atlantic Express folded into Academy in 2013, New York Bus Service MCI #1803 was renumbered #7426 by the MTA, and renumbered #2926 due to the current 2014-2015 XD40s (#7090-#7483). #2926 still runs today and even has the OMNY, Wi-Fi and USB Charging Ports onboard. If that bus ever retires, the MTA should preserve it. Oh and those M7As in the video? They replaced the M1As around 2008-09, the M3As still run, though they're in storage at the moment, and as of 2011, the M8s replaced the M2/4/6 (the M2s themselves retiring at the end of 2018). All Orion VII CNGs are retired since May 3rd, 2019 (#7816 and #7817 were the last ones standing), with the 2002-2003 ones retiring by 2018. All New Flyer D60HFs are retired (the 1996-1998 ones as of late 2011, the 1999-2000 ones originally retired in 2013, but some came back for a few more years before retiring for good in January 2017, and the 2002-2003 D60HFs retired on March 31st, 2019, with the last units #127 (ex-#5599) and #5659 making their last runs. All the MCI Classics were gone by early 2008, and all the Orion Vs were retired between 2010 and 2016. All the 1st Generation Hybrids are also retired as of July 2019. I should also mention that all RTS buses were retired in May 2019 (the 1990-1994 TMCs in 2010, the 1996 Novas at the end of 2018, and the 1999s by 2019). Today, the fleet is dominated by Orion VII Hybrids (OG and NGs since 2008), Low Floor Novas since 2010, and Xcelsiors. All of the 2005-2007 MCI D4500CLs (#3000-#3474/#4300-#4329) still run, as does 2001 MCI D4500s #2204 and #2209, and most of the 2002 MCIs. Now for routes, the Bx15 now operates out of Kingsbridge Depot (as does the M100), the M1 was shortened, first to 8th Street, then lengthened to Grand Street. The BXM4B is the same route, just relabeled the BXM4. And all private bus lines were taken over by the MTA later that year and into 2006. In short, NYC buses (and trains) are so different now than they are today.

Thanks for the info. May I add on ALL 1st gen of the og were all wiped out by early of 2020. MTA should’ve retired all rts (1999) by early to mid 2020 but due to many many complaints about having old busses, they were all wiped out by April of 2019. The D4500cl are being retired as we speak by the 2021 prevost x3-45. I think the OLD d4500s are all retired, but I agree they should preserve the one with the Omni WiFi etc. they should put that with the 9/11 unit. (9/11 unit was either on the 28 or 38 heading to Coney Island W37 street but didn’t make it out the traffic and got caught in the drama of the trouble) anyways some Orion’s got to Brooklyn in 2013 and 2014 and ran from GA before retirement. I do miss hearing the awesome series 50 and series 60 on the streets. Those were some good times back then.

@@thetransitguy5594 Now all but 1 of the 2002 MCIs are retired (#2910 is still running, but for how long). As for #2926, it will soon head to the NY Transit Museum and join the museum fleet there.

@@thetransitguy5594 And you mean the 2005 2nd Gen Hybrids. Those were retired (first out of Manhattanville by the Fall of 2019) by November of 2020. It's gonna be weird seeing the Express fleet being 100% Prevosts.

@@forcechief Yep. The bus won’t last for much longer. I thought MTA had ordered more MCI busses but I guess they failed. That MCI will be extremely lucky if it survived till early or mid august in Passenger service. It will be odd to see almost all of MTA express busses all prevost. Tho we have the 2008 and 2013 MCI d4500ct around that will last till.....2025 to 2030 if lucky. We will see what MTA has planned for those

@@forcechief Yep. Only old gems left are the 2nd +. I know those won’t last forever to (seems like all of em are at JFK), They will also be extremely lucky if they made it to august. All I know is MTA is retiring those em. I think they retired the only fully diesel bus to.
      Edit: old gens
