I know she is just a character, but it seems so ridiculous that Lwaxana would be so unprofessional, obnoxious, and rude being someone with her position and status. She even embarrasses and shames her own daughter in front of everyone. That's just bad!
@@Halpin2006 I suppose not everyone finds obnoxiousness annoying or rude. Some people actually find it charming. She's not doing it from place selfish manipulation. She's genuinely trying to put her best foot forward and for better or for worse all that you described is really just her personality. She does love her daughter and wants the best for her. She gets under Picard's skin because she is telepath and she knowns how attracted he is to her. So of course she plays around with this and even considers him as partner at some point. Of course he tries very hard to be professional and being married to telepath would be another level of hell for someone as private as him. So of course she squirms around her because he is embarrassed just how transparent he is around her. She's just being herself though same as him which is why realtionshipwise it would never work even with the attraction.
Her character was played masterfully and the woman behind the character was actually very important in the production of star trek going back 40+ years no lie.
I think in one of the books there's a quote from Picard along the lines of "I have faced angry Romulans, Klingons, and the Borg without flinching...5 minutes of your mother counselor Troi and I'm hiding in my ready room!"
They’re in a book together called Q-in-law and it is as funny as it sounds. Q makes Lwaxana fall in love with him and then he scorns her, making her mad. She goes after him and starts beating him. Riker and Worf watch and Riker asks what they should do. Worf replies with “sell tickets.” You should check it out. It’s hilarious.
Lwaxana and Q were both acknowledgements that the characters on _The Next Generation_ were pretty dry. It was a convenient way to poke fun at our prim and proper heroes without breaking their characters.
Love that Majel finally got to have such an amazing character to play on the series she was such an integral part of! We got to see some outstanding acting. RIP First Lady of Star Trek ❤
Lwaxanna: Jean Luc, what naughty thoughts! But, how wonderful you still think of me like that! Riker: Captain? Deanna: Captain, what history do you have with my mother? Picard: Damn, not now!
"Mr. Worf, you are a member of this crew and you will not go into hiding every time a Klingon ship decloaks." -The guy who goes "on vacation" (aka into hiding) every time he knows in advance that Lwaxana will be showing up
I know Deanna gets a lot of hate...and, like, I still really like the character...BUT I totally get why people think she's poorly written. This scene captures that foul essence perfectly.
What I don't understand is why Lwaxanna is always flirting with Picard if she can read his mind and tell that not only is he not attracted to her, but her very presence makes him uncomfortable. Is she just trolling him to dial up the cringe level to 15?
0:28 Man, all the time I didn't get it......she isn't stating all her Betazed-Achievements....she's playing a live Session of DnD without telling anyone and just states her Character Sheet!
Lwaxana Troi has to be the most irritating character on ST-TNG. Since the actress, Majel Barrett, was Roddenberry's wife, she had to be in many episodes as they could get away with doing. She was far less irritating as Nurse Chapel.
Chapel was ok, but they didn’t give her a lot to do or flesh out her character much. Majel made the most of whatever screen time she got. But they couldn’t have found a more diametrically opposite character for her than Lwaxanna Troi. Personally, I enjoyed seeing her play this outrageous character in TNG. Love Majel ❤
I love how Troi's first reaction at sensing that her mother is present is "oh my god...."
I love Deanna’s reaction, like everyone’s like “oh crap what force do you sense?”
Only to find it's much worse than any of them could have feared!
(For the record, I do love Lwaxana - in a small way she reminds me of my own mom!)
Lwaxana shows up you know there's going to be hilarity
I know she is just a character, but it seems so ridiculous that Lwaxana would be so unprofessional, obnoxious, and rude being someone with her position and status. She even embarrasses and shames her own daughter in front of everyone. That's just bad!
@@Halpin2006 but she does it all in a such cute way :-D. I would love to have such a mother, actually.
@@zornitzapetrova7339 Not everyone agrees with your definition of cute. She's annoying and many including yourself can see why.

I will never get over how much Majel looked like she could have really been her mother!!!
Her character was played masterfully and the woman behind the character was actually very important in the production of star trek going back 40+ years no lie.
Majel Barrett and Marina Sirtis had great chemistry together as a mother-daughter team.
that shuttle pilot will be needing a counseling session with deanna later after being on that shuttle with her mum lol
What a perfect "Deer in the Headlights" look from Picard.

@@auricstorm There's only 2 things in the galaxy Worf fears, Keiko O'Brien giving birth and Luxwanna Troi.
I wonder how Q and Lwaxana would get along...
There was a Star Trek book about just that.

@@khfan4life365 And they say Worf has no sense of humor. xD
The book "Q in Law" is just that and its BRILLIANT!

That poor, poor shuttle pilot... :(
Picard's face after Lwaxana's comment... well, you can clearly see that he's thinking to himself: "Ahhhh shit!"
Love that Majel finally got to have such an amazing character to play on the series she was such an integral part of! We got to see some outstanding acting. RIP First Lady of Star Trek ❤
She is possibly the only person who can truly get under Picard's skin, and get him to even try to hide.
As much as Q is a nemesis, he doesn't publicize Picard' thoughts all the time. XD
Her last line & its reaction by Picard, Deanna & Riker is by far my favourite Lwaxanna Troi moment!
Lwaxanna: Jean Luc, what naughty thoughts! But, how wonderful you still think of me like that!
Riker: Captain?
Deanna: Captain, what history do you have with my mother?
Picard: Damn, not now!
I have a feeling that even if Picard was just thinking about her dress being beautiful, Lwaxanna would magnify that idea tenfolds towards sordid.
She is so amazingly refreshing!! :D Love her!!
Classic mother/daughtrer scene, especially when they have such big personalities :)
0:02 *"I sense something. A presence I've not felt since..."*
Hilarious!!!!!! I could also see the usually cool Deanna fighting the urge to blush.
He didn't deny it everybody!
He didn't deny it!
Look at the face of the shuttle's pilot xD
he's thinking "i dont get paid enough for this crap" lol
Picard is probably wanting to order the ship do a complete 180 and get out of there at Warp 9.
That poor shuttlecraft pilot. 🤣
he's thinking "bitch please get outta my face" lol
I know,right? 😂😂😂
It's a thankless job but someone has to do it... 😅
LOL. What a great character. Majel, RIP.
Imagine a conversation between Lxuana and Leonard's mother from The Bang Theory
Oh my god! She's just like my mom!
We could be siblings! My mother was a shocker!
I love Lwaxanna : )
The look on the pilot's face. Says it all about women in 2024.
Mrs. Troi wanted her some Picard
She's like Q -- a force for chaos, only with a flashier fashion sense.
One of my favorite characters.
WHY didn't they do an episode with both Q AND Lwaxanna?
There was a novel with such a storyline, it's called "Q-In-Law"
That would have been cool to have an episode with q and lwaxana. It would have been hilarious
Q was fear her.
Rip Picard.
I literally screamed “OMG SHE’S BACK!!!!”
"Mr. Worf, you are a member of this crew and you will not go into hiding every time a Klingon ship decloaks."
-The guy who goes "on vacation" (aka into hiding) every time he knows in advance that Lwaxana will be showing up
You can literally see Picard swallowing in fear at the end...
The guy just passes up so many opportunities for love.
Picard is a wise man.
Plot twist: the naught thoughts were from the pilot right next to her
Picard, thinking
"Mister worf, fire main phasers!"
I do wonder what Jean luc was thinking about lwaxana

She makes him uncomfortable because he is attracted to her and doesn't want to admit it.
Hehehe.. Lwaxama can read Picard's mind and she KNOWS that he is attracted to her..even if he would never admit it to himself!
She's one of those who think that the solution to establishing romance with that "special one" is to just try harder.
She likes winding him up 😂😂😂😂😂
At least she didn't try that stuff with Odo. She actually behaved like an adult.
Priceless
How did she know he was thinking about ordering Worf to open fire?
Homie looks completely done with her shit lol
The worst Emeny of Picard
1- Lwaxanna
2- Borg
3 - Q
4 - Shinzon
kwaanna is soo awsome!
Worf, you know what to do.
I'm sure I'm more articulate than that
Doesn’t Worf handle comms? Why is Data getting the message from Starfleet?
What episode is this
RED ALERT
The pilot just be like 😒🙄😒🙄
i would maybe ask permission if i when through people thoughs i would want them to ask me as well to

Love TNG but Lwaxana was easily the most annoying recurring character in the series.
Your opinion. I loved her.
@@trylikeafool That's your opinion, many hated her. Doesn't make any of you right though, just that she was a polarized figure.
Marina Sirtis was such a wooden, terrible actor.
