Thanks, it would have been informative to explain how you buy ferry tickets. It seems a complicated process to have to go to many different offices to buy ferry tickets, port fee and possibly another tax. I hope you can explain in a further video.
thaimaxcan It's very difficult and certainly not customer friendly. Forget about online bookings. We had to go to Cebu from the large island of Leyte only 55kms away to fix up business at the BDO bank because our local branch in Leyte IS NOT online to other BDO's banks in Cebu. My wife had to get up at 4am to get to Hilongos port and wait at the sellers office and hopefully get us a good seat. Coming home it was the reverse experience going down to Cebu port hoping to get a ticket home as there is only one ferry during the day plus one at night which no one wants because if its sink no other ship will notice and help you. As an Australian used to everything being online and swift all I can say is ''thank God my wife knows what to do and is prepared to get out at the crack of dawn''. Once on the ferry you have to climb up 2 or 3 flights of very narrow stairs with hand rails only on half the stairs and then you don't get a seat!! They give you a foam mattress to lay down on which is very hot from your body heat. I won't even dare to mention the toilets, but leave it to your imagination. I said to my wife ''next time we take a bus 160kms to Tacloban and fly to Cebu.
One challenge in "explaining" the ticket process as it varies quite a bit in different areas and ferry companies....but I will attempt it in the future.
@@1967hashem From Hilongos to Cebu there’s also the Gabisan Shipping fastcraft day trip that leaves in the morning at 8:30, leaves Cebu at 2pm daily except Tuesdays or whenever else they cancel on a whim. It’s not that fast really, takes 4 hours but it’s a smaller passenger vessel with seating and not the bunks. Gabisan also does a night trip with a larger RORO ship, I’ve never been on that. In Hilongos the Gabisan office is on the street that leads to the pier and last month we had no problem getting a couple tickets there an hour before the morning trip. Roble Shipping goes at night daily and does day trips I think on Fr-Sa-Su. If you ever need a backup there are 3 companies with several fastcraft departures per day on the Ormoc-Cebu route. Oceanjet, SuperCat & SeaCat. I had to go to Ormoc once when the Gabisan canceled on me. The schedules are hard to keep up with, it’s enough to make a preacher cuss every time I research it before making a trip. And in Cebu, isn’t it hilarious how the passenger terminal numbers don’t match the pier numbers on which they are on?
Rod Can you check CityHomes Minglanilla (Cebu) These townhouses are under CCT (Condominium Certificate of Title) meaning they are under Condo Title meaning Foreigner's like can own them with out a Filipina wife or girlfriend. CITYHOMES MINGLANILLA CEBU
Hi Rod love uour vedioes how come we never see your flipina girlfriend and u dnt talk aboutbher do you have onebabd how old am just being caurious love your content thou
Thanks David. She is often at work but occasionally in my video. I have seen the nasty comments some get about their girlfriends so I am not interested in trolls.
If the USA was involved in a nuclear exchange I doubt if money transfers of pensions and social security payments would be continued. Maybe a chicken and garden farm should be on your agenda? As fertile as Filipinas are, they could repopulate the earth in a few hundred years. Now that I am older (70s), I don't care to be too far from my money and at the mercy of my bank shutting me down. Yet, having lived there for 6 years, I do miss the Philippines now. I don't have any galpals in the Pi that I can depend on there in case things got bad for me...another major concern.
Excellent video Rod I love geography especially of Philippines great job
A very good video for anyone wanting to do some island hopping.

Quiet and comfortable.
My SuperCat experience from Cebu to Dumaguete was superb, it goes at probably 35mph! It's a very smooth ride not rocky or bumpy.

People Squat on the toilet because the toilets are nasty! They don't want anything above their feet to touch...
Can you do a vlog on CityHomes Minglanilla in Cebu
I will try to get back down that way soon Robert.
