This is so 1970s! Even the cinematography looks like a photograph of that era! I was a kid back then, and this brings me back to that time as an adult. So cool!
Bringing my youth back!
This song reminds me of Ain't No Stoppin Us Now. The official feel good song that ended the 70s of feeling good vibe, funk, music, relationships, just hanging out skating & dancing NOT hurting, killing, or drugs. Make an ole man like myself reminisce.
Ooo I didn't peep that good catch ain't no stopping us
I agree is one of the best if not the best male vocalist today. Anderson has that wonderful raspy voice that I love too.
Silk Sonic brings a smile to the world! "Oh my oh my"
👏👏love them...bruno only sings live been doing it since he was 4 🤗 concerts are amazing
This is us babe! When I heard this song my mind went to that old classic movie "Car Wash" This is my SUMMER JAM! Wait a minute SHAFT! THAT'S IT!
You got it! Was thinkin the other day about that string line when they stop & break like, ‘Hmm, where have I heard that before?’ And Car Wash came to mind. Then bridge to What’s Goin On got some similarity, like a chordal thing, but different beat.
It has that 70 sound. Barry white, the jackson 5 etc… 🔥🔥🔥
As soon as I heard it I thought Barry White too. The bridge before the chorus also gives me car wash vibes
I got Barry white too lol
Neither Barry White nor Jackson 5 have a song that sounds like this.
Yep, they did it again...so excited. So many things that take me back to the 70's. Silk Sonic perfection and they better get their SKATEs on as I think award season will be huge. The Grammys better LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN. This collaboration is one to be so grateful for. Says me, skating around in the kitchen in my socks. This is 🔥🔥🔥Incredible talent from both. Bruno's voice is to die for. Love the warmth in Anderson's voice. Together they're soooo easy to listen to. Great reaction 🐨💞👏🏻 happy happy happy happy slide slide skate skate
That’s a Barry White sample. Can’t Get Enough of Your Love
No, it's not.
A homage certainly, but recreated as their own.
This is not just Back to Disco..... They have brought Disco really Back!!!!!!!
And funk for sure
@@ThatSingerReactions exactly that celestial balance between,Funk,R&B, Soul Roller Boogie .....You know!!!! Abrazo y saludos afectuoso.... bendiciones
Not sure if you have reacted to Bruno Mars live performance at the Apollo Theater but defnitely check out his "Calling all my Lovlies" performance it is one of the best performance I have seen from him hands down!
Sweetheart, you got a fan here. You don't disappoint.
Thank you so much ❤
Hearing different reactions, there are different things people pick out. How they interject with 'SKATE' it might be a lil' nod to Isaac Hayes' "Theme From Shaft" when the girls sing, "SHAFT" that's what I took away from when you mentioned it during the song. This is def. gonna be in heavy rotation in all different places. Great reaction!!
You have a beautiful smile just like Bruno and Anderson!!❤️ This is definitely a bop, I love it!!🙂
They did it again 🔥🔥 love where they’re going
Anderson has that gravel and growl: bourbon and cigarette smoke; "roll and rock; rock n roll" ! Their voices are complementary they aint playing. this is fun and upbeat. and we all wanna "Skate!"
Yes, Curtis Mayfield sound!!! This is why young people have to learn their history. You gave an accurate definition of the sound!😂 Listen to "Pusher Man", Curtis all day long!
This is straight up Philly Soul that music with that disco twist which it's going to make you Dance .😀
Dropping a bit of TSOP (Soul Train) with the string section and orchestral wall of sound.
They understand music theory and music history.
I love this so much 🔥🔥
Same tyler
Love it love it love it! Your reaction ❤️❤️ New sub!
Thank you:)
Love your reaction. The sample you are hearing reminds me of the theme song to an old tv show called "The Love Boat".
That intro reminds me of the music in Staying Alive....they are killing it!!!
Reminds me of Thom Bell's production (Delfonics, Stylistics, Spinners) more than Isaac Hayes - part of the Philly sound with strings, glockenspiel, transitions, modulation, jazzy R&B chord changes... also Gamble & Huff. Not sampled, but in that OG style.
Agreed. I think Philly Soul is the main inspiration. Most people seem unfamiliar with the different subgenres of soul music.
@@0812820 Yep. Philly Sound, Atlantic/NYC (Aretha), Stax/Memphis, Carolina Beach Music, Mercury/Smash (James Brown)/Chicago, Motown, New Orleans Soul, Capitol Records/LA (Lou Rawls) Labels and cities with their own sound. So many great subgenres. So lucky to grow up with this music - performances in studio and live were so professional. So good.
You can hear for example - Curtis Mayfield also = 70's
FYI: ANDERSON WILL BE DOING A LIVE SHOW ON AXS TV ON AUG 11TH FROM FRANCE.
Yeahhh Thats a song 🔥🔥
Love you & your reaction!!!
Good song , Bruno been writing great music for a long time , enjoyed your reaction
Giving me Kool and the Gang Vibes
First time hearing it,oh my oh my new member of my play list.😎😎
If you make a tier list Bruno is a triple sss.👍
@ThatSingerReactions The music sort of reminds me of “I Can’t Get Enough of Your Love” by Barry White
Yep I agree
@@ThatSingerReactions I got it… figured it out…. Listen to the instrumental to “Magic” by Robin Thicke!!!! Same music, do you agree … especially the instrumental part right before Bruno sings the 2nd verse???
Reminds me of McFadden and Whitehead, OJays, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes. The look of Bruno reminds me of Switch but the group as a whole reminds me of the era of late 1970s-early 1980s.
So good!!
Anderson sounds like Curtis Mayfield "Pusherman" 1972 from the movie Super Fly!!!
Yes he does
@@ThatSingerReactions Thank you! I'm glad someone else hears it & it's not just me.😊
The sample its from Barry White, i think its get enough love
Bruno Mars looks like Bob, Richie Valenz's brother in La Bamba. AKA actor Esai Morales.
Good reaction! 😊
I like your t-shirt. Coooooll! 👌👏💯😊
Haha thank you :)
Guitar rhythms like Tighten Up-Freddie Bell and the Drells. Strings from the disco sounds of Saturday Night Fever.

This is definitely old school 70s vibes..no, they didn't sample this they write and produce their songs
I mean the beat lol but this is fire 🔥
Sampling is not bad , i don’t think they did but if so… that wouldn’t be bad🤷🏻♂️
Music is cyclical. They took the music from the 70s and repurposed it to today's music. I was a teen in the 70s and I hear so many influences in this music.
@@missyoli1227 I was growing up in the 70s I remember those days..the music was smooth and enjoyable and that's what they're doing..we need this wholesomeness again where everyone can enjoy..im tired of the hoochies barely dressed, cursing and just not caring about their morals. Im just saying
@@LuzLopez-fl1qp I was a teen in the 70s and I remember the great music from that era. My whole playlist is music from the seventies with a little 80s sprinkle in. I totally agree with what you're saying. I'm not a prude, but I think it's ridiculous how sexual the music is today. Cardi B WAP is something I couldn't imagine years ago would be played on the air and on tv. I love what Bruno is doing and I will by his album if the rest of the songs are as this song and Leave the Door Open.
Where is Bow Wow and his skating buddies. Lol! Let's go SKATE! Anderson, Bruno, the Silk Sonic band, and the talented lovely ladies are off the hook! Oh my oh my!!!!!!! Can't stop playing and smiling to this song. Great reaction and breakdown of the song.
Sam Cook! Was the intro, forgot the name of the song.
The only thing wrong with this song is it’s not long enough!
Thanks for reactions
Just sub
‘I’m tryin to role, im tryin to RIDE’, not ‘hide’.But thas thenpart you hearing late great Isaac Hayes, a song from the Shaft soundtrack called, Cafe Reggio, also the Philadelphia International sound might be influence in there too. Good description of A. Paak’s voice, ‘smokey’.
Sounds more like a sample from Barry White. But this is another SMASH!!!💥
To me it sounds like they sampled his own song treasure
Felt the same. Sounds familiar on my first time hearing it.
its in there; but that is part of the fun and again celebrates women!
Kind of reminds me of the fantasie island score
I hear Tavares Heaven must be missing an Angel and car wash rose royce
Rose Royce car wash /Barry white love theme/ Vaughan Mason and Crew roll bounce
the start kinda sounds like Billy Ocean caribbean queen
"I hate them." LMAO
Ike Turner...lol. Actually you stopped the video where Bruno did have an expression that reminded one of Ike Turner brevado...lmbo
Lmaooo
More Smokey Robinson/ Al Greene bad boy than Ike Turner
Yeah I agree
Straight Thom Bell/Gamble & Huff Philly Sound. Thom Bell and Delfonics with one of the first Philly Sound hits. ruclips.net/video/qYNjpZ3NAGE/видео.html
Bruno was raised in entertaiment in Hawaii with a family entertainers who had him doing Elvis.. not funky at all. Think Bruno is just steeped in musicality from lots of places and he picked funk
He's father is from Brooklyn, living during one of the most influential times in black diaspora music (salsa, disco, FUNK, and beginnings of hop-hop) so he's paying homage to that. He was just the youngest Elvis impersonater ever in Hawaii. Its sad that we don't about our musically history which is so influential to today's music.
Curtis Mayfield vibe
Yes!
A young Reactor called this song "lazy" cuz it wasn't progressive enough. That they're just taking old music and not making it new. Poor kid. He's missing out on the whole vibe and the need for this music to come back. smh
Drop the link 🙏
@@ddh19454 right we need to find out who lol

Simple lyrics and mediocre. However the instruments are everything. The guitars make the song. Reminds me of Curtis Mayfield, the Ojays and Marvin Gaye.
