Johann Georg Linike. (ca.1680 - 1762 April 7). Alternative Names/Transliterations: Lienike, Lienicke, Linecke, Linicke, Linigke, Lünicke. German composer, violinist, harpsichordist, Capelmeister at the court of duke Adolf Frederik III of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. Linike composed orchestral and chamber music. If you compare Linike, who is galant-leaning, to JS Bach, who was also working at this time, one can see how Bach's works might have been considered "Old Fashioned" So many composers working during Bach's time, and how greatly Bach is revered.
