I did a custom playlist where I combined AI, 21stCB, and classic era songs together kinda like the musical and that's exactly where I had this song. Paradise was thematically the first couple months of Jimmy/JoS being in the city, whereas Holiday is after he's been hanging around for longer than that

Imagine instead of Dookie this song got remastered on AI? The song also fits really well into a slot between Holiday and BOBD. Like TJOS is phoning home about how he feels about this new place he's living and the opportunities the big city holds... and then BOBD is that child like wonder disappearing with the reality of the city Jesus now finds himself in.

Pitching it up was the main trick to sound Billie Joe sound 'newer'... his vocals have only gone higher over the years. So, mhm! Nonetheless, amazing re-edition/remix!

I was actually going to comment about the vocals as well as the whole tuning of the song. In American Idiot, I believe all of their songs are actually in standard tuning as opposed to basically their whole career prior to AI, their songs were tuned a half-step down. So I think this is incredible and a very important detail to have been taken into consideration while remixing it AI style!
