So sad to see those beautiful buildings in such a bad state of repair. Memories of Fleetwood was a fantastic Bakers who made stunning meat pies and Fleetwood was always a half-day trip when in Blaxckpool
I never went in to town much when I lived there, but I do remember the lighthouses.
I was told that when the ships were sailing towards Fleetwood, when the 2 lighthouses lined up, the captains knew they were in the right channel to enter the River Wyre.
Love Stories like that.
Enjoyed video, love the architecture lovely old buildings and terraced streets. Thanks.
Many thanks
Another super video about Fleetwood. Thinking about the demolished building you featured, I think it was a medical building like a medical practice. I could be wrong, and I welcome comments to correct me. You also passed my favourite chippy in Fleetwood, The Granada fish bar on Victoria Street. You want to try their chips Stephen, highly recommended! Really enjoyed this video, looking forward to Part 3! Thanks Stephen. :)
great video mate I luv Fleetwood ane day I hope to move here yes it has some bad areas but seafront is great
Hi Stephen thank you for another great video as always got a lot of character Fleetwood nice to see different places very interesting take care xx
The two clock towers and the lighthouse are impressive Stephen. A pity that there are sop many empty shops these days. I suppose with the decline of the fishing industry, and the regular sailings to the Isle of Man, combined with the loss of the railway station as well, it made quite an impact on the town. Many thanks for this production.
Another great video Stephen, lots of narrow little streets in Fleetwood. I bought a little house on Cross Street 20 years ago to refurb, talk about narrow, a car trying to get down it would knock on every door with its mirrors. Got exactly 90 seconds of sunlight every day. Streetlight was two inches away from bedroom window, had to wear Ray Bans in bed..
Thanks again for a brill video. If you want to see Fleetwood buzzing, come in on tram Sunday, it's packed and a great atmosphere too .
Yeah I know Tram Sunday is a huge event but not sure if it’s on this year.
Always good to see these wonderful places
Great video dude, keep up the good work. Many thanks xxx
Thanks for another great video Stephen looking forward to part 3.👍
Enjoyed part 2👍 of Fleetwood watched your first one, we like to get to Fleetwood for a afternoon when we’re in Blackpool but looks so very quiet hopefully things will get better when life gets back to normal, Thanks again for a interesting visit 😁 Pauline from Blackpool living in Canada 🍁
Thank you so much for this video. This means a great deal to me .
Lovely part 2 👍👍 real shame most shops are shut down as it could be a thriving area . Looking forward to part 3 👍👍 fabulous footage.
Lovely video Stephen ; keep em coming.
The building that was knocked down on London St was a doctors health centre, it wasn't old, built in the 70s.
I love that road the Trees look lovely.I was in Fleetwood last Saturday bargains on the Market and a Great Power walk back to the log Cabin.
Picnic in the Park opposite the Euston Hotel.
Thanks for all the footage.
Really enjoyed the video stephen, it brought back lots of good memories for me. That little road you walked down Arthur Street was where my nan and grandad used to live. Looking forward to part 3 now 😊
Nice one. Good job I happened to stumble upon it.
It is 😊 its an unusual little road but nice
Enjoyed the video Stephen downtown Fleetwood always recall my trips to the market trip up on the tram 🚃 great stuff Mr C
Pearl blakeley
Great video thanks
another day in paradise stephen
Thank you for another visit to Fleetwood..
Thanks for another interesting video Stephen and what a pleasant contrast Fleetwood is to Blackpool, more laid back. The pavilion looks great but it is sad to see how depressed some areas of the town are.
Please do the market on the next one, hopefully in the daytime 🤞🏻
Another great informative video Stephen, love the lighthouse and the houses
HAVE A GOOD DAY IN FLEETWOOD LOVE THAT PLACE 😙❤️ JOHN FROM BELFAST THANKS 👍👍👍👍👍
Hi Steven, i can not belive how many shops are empty !
I used to always visit fleetwood when I was in holiday in Blackpool. The market used to be insanely busy sadly it looks like it is decaying badly in places now.
Nice video of Fleetwood Steve, seems a nice little.town
A proper tram layout, I can remember getting a tram here, now it is only streetcars, does no justice. Those tram traction poles date back to the 1930s (just as the trolley bus system in London is starting). That wedge shaped building in no way resembles Flatiron Building in New York which was called that because it resembled a flat smoothing iron.
Last time i went to Fleetwood I remember buying a fluffy pink Duran Duran bin for my bedroom from the market 😳😆🤦🏼♀️ We were on holiday in Blackpool at the time and went on one of the old balloon trams 🚃 That Vauxhall Cavalier was mint, the c
Brilliant mate.
Brilliant 😊😊😊
Another great video Stephen and at least I know trams still run.
a very nice detailed vlog part 2 stephen , cheers
Well done stephen .nearly 17000 subscribers .well deserved .🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧👌
Another great video Stephen. Thank you 😊 ⛴⚓️
Was in Blackpool and Lytham st Annes yesterday. Weather was good
it used 2 be a health center in london st stephen also the building you was talking about near market was the midland bank great video again stephen xx
Will pop into Fleetwood during my trip next month. xx
hi, everyone i have lived here 20 years market is still one of the best, cant wait for the tourist too come back after lockdown.
The Market was lovely not been in it for a number years.Went in last Saturday bought a supply of Knitting Yarn.Hubby and I have returning to Fleetwood for Day Trips over the last few years but it appears we have missed the market Days.We tend to walk from Fleetwood Golf Club around the Town then back up.
The clocktower; a memorial to Frances Mary Lofthouse, appears to come from Gillett and Johnston in Croydon, South London, there is a similar memorial to W.F. Stanley, mathematician and engineer in South Norwood
There are some pretty nice buildings in Fleetwood - just in need of some tlc. I don't see why councils don't help out with the upkeep of them- rather than let them go downhill it would be much better than keep clearing them to build new - mind you there's lots of money to be made by developers - maybe by council officials who award contracts too !
If you go on Google maps you can see on London street it was an old abandoned health centre :P relatively small in comparison to the rubble left behind!
I've lived in Fleetwood for 7 years and love the town. One thing I have never understood though is why all the street names in the town centre are mostly red ?
Yeah I did notice that.
I was brought up in warren st. There was a pub next door. My dad was a dock worker. My mum was a nurse.lots of family there then. But all have died now..
Do yourself a favour and go to the Trafalgar restaurant if you are ever in Fleetwood, wonderful seafood restaurant. Best in Lancashire
Google Fleetwood history. It’s fascinating. You missed the Fylde ukulele band practice at the Marine gardens. on Thursday afternoon. Come back again!
Hopefully will be able to visit the museum soon.Lovely Town with so much quirky History some lovely Architecture too.
My grandma lived all her life in fleetwood and passed away recently.
Wow that's amazing no doubt saw lots of changes. My Grandmother's Cousin moved to Fleetwood back in the 70's from Manchester. She lived on Pharos St.
Did have good memories of Fleetwood years ago but a shame to see so many towns in the Uk gone down,
dilapidated, empty shops run down. Not impressed with Fleetwood now., but its not alone.
"Shuttered-up shops": sorry, that speaks volumes.
There's no cash machine in Fleetwood lol
Is the market still there ? I visited it back in 2018 nice little market
Yes I showed it in this video, near the 2nd clock tower.
How great is the tram in the town centre, always used to seeing them on the prom, is it anew track, or did the old trams rattle down the tram line
It's original track.
All I know of Fleetwood is that is was a fisherman’s town. Thanks for info xxx
I’m in Blackpool on Friday and on Saturday we’re heading to Fleetwood to watch the match. Is it best to get the tram from Blackpool into Fleetwood or taxi? If we were to get the tram where would we catch the tram in Blackpool? We’ll probably drink in the Kings Arms before the match in Fleetwood. Thanks for any advice you could provide 👍🏻
Yeah you can get the tram anywhere along Blackpool Promenade. When in Fleetwood, you want the Stanley Road stop.
Stephen St. Peter church that’s where I was baptised ,sixty three years ago and lived in Fleetwood till 1975 then I moved to London area from Wyre Tom
I used to love Freeport, til they opened acertain sports shop on there!
was there to day another nice day..john..south shore...
The sea front looks better than the shopping area
Was the health center that got kocked down its near the fish shop now
GOOD LUCK 🍀 WITH YOUR VIDEO IT'S. A NICE PART OF THE WORLD 🌍🌍😊 JOHN IN BELFAST THANKS 🙏 O😅😊
Imagine trying to get a bulk delivery staying in Arthur Street, a nightmare
The thing on London st that was knocked down was the old Doctors
I'm in Blackpool now... Having a pint in coasters
Looks very rundown and rough area
only about 50 years younger than blackpool. not that much, poulton is the oldest place on the fylde coast
Thank you 👍👍
