Nemesis OR Nemesis Inferno??

- Nemesis at Alton Towers is often compared to a ride of similar name and similar make over at Thorpe Park, Nemesis Inferno. So which is better? Nemesis or Nemesis Inferno?? I discuss the highlights of each, some of the comparisons and differences, facts to do with their history and of course finishing it off with whether or not i prefer the Thorpe Park version or the original over at Towers.

I think both are amazing B&M Inverts, but the original Nemesis takes the cake for me.
Nemesis’s intensity is not just found in it’s crazy helix, it’s also found in it’s two corkscrews imo. I also think that the theming is better that Inferno’s.
However there are some things about Nemesis Inferno that I think are better than the original Nemesis! Like the loop is more forceful and it has an *actual* classic B&M first drop. Also Inferno is [AT THE MOMENT] smoother than the original.
When the London Resort opens in 3022, I hope they build Nemesis Sub-Zero just to make even more fighting within UK enthusiasts. 🤣

Nemesis. Nemesis. Nemesis. Better terrain, better aesthetic, more intense. Although Inferno is still really good I think its the best at Thorpe Park and a top 5 coaster in the UK.

I did go on nemesis inferno a few days ago but I still prefer Alton towers one
Also I love the soundtrack of the original Nemesis as well
I like them both but prefer the original. Nemesis is excellent and feels like the best thing Alton Towers could have possibly built. I love the way the biggest elements are in the third quarter of the ride.
Nemesis Inferno is very good/great, but I've always thought it should have been bigger. Something around 130ft tall with a dive loop and immelmann, like Oziris at Parc Asterix, would have made for a more outstanding ride in its own right.
Congrats on 20k! I’ve been watching you since around 10-11k and I’ve enjoyed every video :) I must say after riding inferno recently back row, I’ve got to say I prefer it over Nemesis.. it was just so intense and the mist effect was even on! 😂😂

I agree with you Dan, Nemesis is a much better ride and I prefer it to inferno, however Nemesis Inferno still holds an important place in my heart as my first big coaster. 🔥

Nemesis easily, it is the original. As much as I do enjoy Inferno. And it gave us that great moment in The Inbetweeners.

Went to Thorpe Park a couple of weeks ago and decided to have a second ride of Nemesis Inferno before going home. Spent the whole of it singing as much of All Star as I could. Did pretty good; not a gap or a stutter.
For me personally it has to be the original Nemesis, don’t get me wrong Nemesis Inferno is great but I just personally prefer the original Nemesis at Alton Towers

For me this isn't even in question. Nemesis is still the best coaster in the UK in my opinion. Inferior.....I mean Inferno, doesn't come close to the intensity of Neme.

Nemesis takes the W for me. Is way more intense than Inferno where I’ve greyed out after the first helix every time that I’ve been on it, is way more atmospheric with the terrain (and what was the blood river) and can’t be beaten on the front row. As well as it being unique as Inferno has been cloned so many times in the States
Inferno at least as far as I know has never been directly cloned, but it is definitely cut from the same cloth as the Batman layouts and similar, very generic combo of loop, followed by zero g roll, corkscrews etc etc
There is no other ride on the planet as unique as Nemesis. Infernos layout is the cliche B&M one with the turn around drop that goes into a vertical loop which doesn’t make it feel as special

I prefer nemesis because it is more intense. Inferno is still great and it was my first thrill coaster

Nemesis feels like your feet are going to crash against the cobblestone rockwork that was built in a heck load of trenches. So it wins by default.

It’s Nemesis Inferno for me, in my opinion, Inferno has more theming with the volcano and overall, it just feels more intense and I think that Inferno is faster than the original

Both have their own strengths but Nemisis just shades it for me. Just that bit more intense and thrilling. Though I do love Inferno too

Did Nemesis Inferno for the first time last week (it was my first visit to Thorpe) and I can't believe how much better than the original it is. It's smoother and so much more consistent in terms of speed and intensity throughout its layout. Nemesis just dies after the zero-g roll.

@Enzo Discovery Nice. I've only been on both Nemesis coasters but I'm hoping to get on more inverts. They're the perfect balance of intensity for me. The original Nemesis is being retracked next year and I'm so excited for it. A smoother Nemesis could be my top coaster
I went to Thorpe Park in July and Inferno was soooo intense - much more than I’ve ever experienced on nemesis!

Inferno pulls 4.8g force, nemesis 3.5g. although original nemesis has better layout overall with the rocks and it is the OG.

I have only been on nemesis and even going on it after the smiler and many others, It is one hell of an experience! An amazing coaster as is the standing up one i went on the next day! ;)

I haven't had the opportunity to ride Nemesis yet however recently Inferno has become my favourite ride at Thorpe Park. Can't wait to ride Nemesis whenever that may be!

Personally I think both are nothing compared to duplo Dino coaster, and so this argument does not matter

The fact that we are even having debates on this shows how good they both are. and tbh I think it depends on what mood you are in. if you want a fast pased close call ride, then the original is better. and if you want a tall drawn out fast but still whippy ride then inferno is better. I cant wait what people say once nemesis gets retracked in 2023. we gotta wait until 2024 for that though.
2024 is going to be all about Exodus and nemesis re tracked vs inferno lol

Comparing nemesis to inferno is like comparing Prince William to Prince Andrew (inferno is Andrew)
Big reason the inferno is bigger is because they aren't allowed to build above the treeline, hence why you see alot of rides with man made pits

The only reason there is a debate is because the good folks at Tussauds thought, 'its an invert, let's name after that other invert we have'.
Nemesis actually has a theme and a storyline. If they called Nemesis Inferno just 'Inferno', then there would be no comparison.
The original has to win purely for the fact that it actually has a theme and the name links to that name.
It would be like them calling Stealth 'Rita - Taller and Faster Version'

I'm going to ride Nemesis again soon but I've ridden Inferno a fair few times and I gotta say, I prefer it's layout and feel even if the themeing is pretty bad. btw I like the use of the music from the new courses in mk8, good editing as always 👌
