One of the last games ever made by Silicon Knights before it went bankrupt this year. After losing a lawsuit againts Epic Games they could never get back up.
I absolutely loved this game I spent so many hours and finally got the legendary god gear for my class, I love rpgs and this felt like the first mmorpg on xbox 360 I want more of this game I like the concept of a futurustic robotic norse mythology, class system and itemization.
It's a shame really, I do agree with the fact that for every good thing in Too Human there was an equally negative aspect about it that simply held this game back. But I did love and enjoy this game. I love the grind for loot and to play and see how far I can get without dying at all. This isn't a bad game. If SK still wants to continue their trilogy, they just have to fix and polish up a few things, as well do a better job at marketing. I really believe that TH2 can be a great game.
Also on the 360 if you tap left bumper the camera will center it's self behind Balder. Actually theres a lot of camera options for the 360. There might not be on the PS3 version (I don't own a PS3).
playing it now after seeing this review today and in 2008...2 cancelled games and a lawsuit later it's an interesting experience to play Dyack's overhyped game today
Actually they missed two things that happen when you die. First your combo meter and exp. modifier drop back down to zero. Second if there was any loot on the ground at the time you died, the loot will vanish. That can prevent you from getting unique items.
I enjoyed this game alot it had a good story and I played through it twice without getting bored but I can see why some people would dislike it. The swarms do start to get boring when you are playing all alone or even on co op it would be amazing if it was a full MMO experience.
@TheDaCoE I really hope so. I do really like Too Human, but its many flaws are glaringly obvious. I get that they were really just wanting to try something new with the controls so that it might stand out a little from other 3rd person action games. But I think they need to learn from the experience, accept that their "innovative" control scheme is horribly unsatisfying to use, and just go with something more conventional in the sequals. The players would respect that I think.
this was a fun game. it had a lot of little problems and it was surprisingly short but i loved the combat and graphics. i thought the voice acting was good too :)
One thing I noticed that was incorrect is that when you said there is no penalty for dying when in fact there is. Each time you die, your equipment degrades a little and you have to repair it the next time you are in town
I find the combat way too stiff and difficult to get used to. I read the tutorials scattered about the city, and I know how it all works, but whenever I want to dash out of a crowd to avoid getting hit and K.Oing a straggling enemy, I end up going into a Jerky Spasm of flailing my arms about like ai giant confused Duck. some Elites and Combat situations are very annoying, where you'd fight 2 or 3 elites at once, where they just continuosly charge you. Making it from: Fluid, To: Run back shooting
@EntaruThandin01 That's understandable i suppose, most people can't seem to adjust to the different camera angles of a game, while Too Human's camera style can't be moved by the player, at least it moves. In some other games that i have played, such as the first Resident Evil game, the camera angles were shit. I played it, got used to it and then got really good at it, but i do agree with ya that having the camera movable would be nice. I hope if they're making a second and third they'll do it.
i think this game will appeal to me, love decking out my character and the combat system seams similar to diablo, nice and easy, also seems like a nice focus on loot and leveling.
Not bad. Im thinking about getting this one of these days. It reminds me of Hellgate london. Except a cooler better looking version of hellgate london.
i just wish they would make a second one the first is well rounded but has problems but in this day and age they can fix those problems probably have 4 player co op a bank for like 30 diferent people to bank and trade in and finish the story the ending is such a cliff hanger
Just thought of this game I played while back. Did you guys ever beat it lol, I remember it being long asfffff and hard at some points. (Never beat it)
The constant dying ticks me off. Overall, it's decent, but there were just a few too many little mistakes that killed it. The camera bugged me, because using the Right analog stick for melee never ends well. X and Y should have been the melee buttons. And the excessive amount of those Goblins that fire rockets is a really bad idea. I like the game, but it could have been so much better. I hope the second one fixes these little errors.
It's their own fault. The studio sued Epic for their failure with Too Human and lost. They didn't have the dough to make up the difference, so they had to destroy all of the assets. It's not like they wanted to. They're legally required to.
This game has so much potential if it were not for its founders' disbelief in social gaming. I think Silicon Knights (Or whoever's investing in their projects) needs to do some research on what type of gameplay this generation of gamers are looking for. Other than that, they have an amazing team of artists.
@Jessannah Yeah, but after watching the review in Zero Punctuation, I have a hard time believing that it's even as good as any average game, let alone better. Sure, there may be a few things about it I might enjoy (if I'm lucky), but I'm pretty sure there are plenty of other games that are more worthwhile.
This was a great game for what it is, if they made a second game and fixed all the problems and added 4 player co-op they would have made alot of money.
I think he's refering to the lack of game over scree. I kinda like bioengineer to. Best class to have grouped with a berserker. Berserker gets beat up activate battle cry berserker gets healled and stays in the fight.
@JabbaDaGrif77 Someone else noticed! I get so frustrated with most reviewers stating the bio-engineer is useless. 4 shiny achievements for not dying shall not be theirs!

I thoroughly enjoyed this game,i like the whole robocalypse style thing, with cybernetic gods kicking the shit out of them,i like the slick combat system, and i enjoy all of the leveling up an loot drop aspects of this game. On the other hand i didnt like the gun targeting system or the camera, and the 20 secxond valkyrie death scene is more then enough of a reason to stay alive
@OrdoMallius So Planescape Torment and The Witcher aren't RPGs, because they give you a set character? That's news to me, and to everyone who considers them to be two of the best RPGs of the past 11 years... :p
@Jessannah Not a bad game. Id say average game. the story is pretty cool. The combat system is ackward but isnt that bad and it takes getting use to. another issue is that you never actually die. You just get ressurected by a 30 second long cinematic where a angel comes to your aid. Its cool for the first couple of times but it gets old and annoying. but beyond that the game isnt bad. Since its now cheap you will get your money worth
I can't believe these guys made the masterpiece Eternal Darkness. Not that the game was perfect, but it had a great story and great atmosphere. This game has not.

@richyboy230 I really wanted to like this game because of it's unique mixture of sci-fi and norse mythology, but I could not, because of it's poor graphics, and awful combat.
