Den James I do. I was a senior in college. This song made me think about my girlfriend at the time who later became my wife. I’m still the lucky one 25 years later.
Oh for sure. Heard the original and didn't give it much thought. Then heard this mix and immediately went and bought the CD single. Still have it...somewhere.
My local radio station didn’t play this song at all, but this was the version Rick Dees would play on his countdown. Fell in love with the song and Amy Grant first time I heard it 😍
Reminds me of being that 10 year old kid in Kmart, when this song came on the intercom randomly. Especially hearing this song on the radio at times. 1995 was a year to be alive as a kid.
This version of this song just randomly popped up in my head. I remember being so mad buying the CD with the studio version and not this back in the day 😂
It was released in I think August of 1994, however I remember hearing it a lot in 1995 on the radio. I was only 10 at the time but still remember this very exact version.

actually, vocally: there is a cleaner remix - where her voice isnt "clouded" by the background singers on "I have never been the one to fall...." - here: ruclips.net/video/twXmrdnY8NM/видео.html
Funny you say that cause as much as I love this version, every time i hear it I always think it shoulda been just a wee bit faster. The lag stands out to me but the arrangement & production of this mix are otherwise spot on. Edit: after listening to it a couple times I don't really notice it. But when I hear the song for the first time after a long spell without, I notice the tempo right away. Go figure.
@@citydweller99 Yep this was the radio mix. The album version was just blah. I'd keep expecting the beat to come in and it just wouldn't. The radio version is far superior!

@@rpdbu8250 If I remember correctly, the local top 40 station in my area did play this version because I remember taping this particular one off of the radio. I also remember the one you linked in your comment, though. I think they chose this one because it was more of an urban mix, which fit better on the local top 40 station here compared to the official radio mix.
@@BreannaMae The A/C Rhythmic Remixes were the ones solicited to Pop/Adult Contemporary stations nationwide. These included That’s What Love Is For, I Will Remember You, Every Heartbeat, Good For Me and Lucky One. Amy Grant released the Greatest Hits Collection in 2004 from A&M Records, the second deluxe CD disc contained these specific radio mixes. A&M had also done the same thing on certain radio/music video remixes for Janet Jackson as well: Let’s Wait Awhile, The Pleasure Principle, Come Back To Me including other artists who had radio remixes different from album versions like Suzanne Vega, Shanice, Herb Alpert etc. I do agree with your original comment, the album version is not interesting. The radio remixes of majority of her released singles are far more superior than the actual ones, with the exception of House of Love (Any Amount of Money).
This remix is way better than the album version. Thumbs up!
Her single versions were always better than her album versions.
100% agree!!
Totally agree 👍👍
I agree too!
That baseline! 😘🤌 Magnificent!
I love this version not the album version.
I remember this one being on the radio. Anyone else?

Now THIS is the version that made this song a smash hit!!! The best version by far.
the BEST version of a fantastic song!!
Robert Cohen I still love this version best, also!
Yes! I agree
That bassline is so good! 😘🤌
THIS is the version that I remember from the late summer & early fall of 1994. It brings back wonderful memories from my youth!
👍🏽💯😊📿🙏🏽🕊

This remix version is slightly better over all its one of my memorable songs i grow up listening on radio in Uganda !

Definitely that mid-90s groove along with Amy’s beautiful voice.

I have been hearing this song again after so many years. It's still fantastic. I'm a 80's girl.

Best mix of this song for sure. Love the breakdown from 2:40 on. Never get tired of listening to this gem.

This remix version is the one I can jam to.
darnell899 I just bought this album from Amazon I can’t wait to listen to it on my iPod when I go for walks
Oh Wow! This song takes me back to my teenage years.
I can’t wait to put this on my iPod and when I take walks in spring/summer I’ll be listening to this song especially this remix version of Lucky One
Yes this version was the most played and the most requested during that time when this song was popular. 🎤🎼❤️🙏😇
Stephen. I like this version better. Love the remix!
I will love this song forever.
Best song version ever.
Both versions r good but this one ☝️ is the best

Yep, that's exactly when I first heard it because school was starting back up the week the radio first played it...👍🏿😎
That was the month the album came out as well.
Thank you for posting this! Such a nostalgic song!

This is the only version of this song as far as I'm aware. That synth solo is boss!
